What's the Most Fun Car you Ever Drove (not necessarily owned) ??

I've always wanted to drive a Midget @RUDE BOY - such beautiful, quirky looking cars!

I think the most fun I've ever had in a vehicle was as a passenger. Before he took his car licence, my dad rode bikes - so when us kids arrived he got himself a sidecar.....

... we absolutely LOVED it! The only slight hitch was, the thing was so darn light with just us kids in it, he had to weigh it down with a breeze block to stop it lifting off the road on the bends! Fun times! :D

I had the pleasure of beating the ever living snot out of this 1994 Defender 90 that I bought new. Most of these things were owned by your typical doctor/lawyer who considered "off road" and "valet parking" to be the same thing.

It was buried in mud, sunk in a river, rolled over on it's side, and generally abused as it was meant to be. Never once washed except to pressure wash mud and grime from the frame and mechanicals to delay the inevitable corrosion (It's British, you can't "prevent corrosion")

Eventually, after 15 years and 150k miles, it became a maintenance nightmare (although it never once left me stranded) and I sold it to some typical doctor/lawyer who was going to have it all fixed up like new and have golf bag holders installed in the back. Somewhere I guess it is living the life of luxury in retirement that I never gave it.

I replaced it with one of those fancy 4 door Jeep Wranglers in 2008. While the Wrangler is by far the much more advanced and capable vehicle due to about 50 years worth of improved technology (and a climate control system that doesn't require bags of ice in the footwells during the summer or wearing animal furs in the winter), I will always miss driving that rough old British gal.

Edit: That's a former Camel Trophy vehicle in the background that I had to pull out of this ditch since it was not set up well enough to handle the conditions that day. I did get a huge confidence boost rescuing a Camel Trophy competitor.

That broken down Opel from your childhood past might have been fast, but I wish I could go back and race you in the rusted out jeep that we found on the beach as a kid. That thing could go anywhere, even on water! It might be a close match!

Oh the memories! What a blast from the past.
Well, I never would have remembered that old rusted jeep half buried in the sand had you not brought up your childhood fantasy, so I thank you for making my day with such a good memory. Especially as I sit here at 4:45 in the morning trying to vape away the pain that woke me up an hour ago.

Thats funny because its @RUDE BOY who brought up the mg which stirred my thoughts.By the way I grew up "out in the country" as we put it.And going 4-wheeling was a way of life.It was always an adventure and almost always a blast.

Sorry to her about the pain.I know how pain can effect a persons way of life.Hope the vape kicks in.

Recently? My buddies very tuned 2011 WRX. That thing really moved. And paired with it's all wheel drive and sticky shoes, it was a blast to take though the twisties.
If only Subaru could build an attractive body panel. I love everything about them mechanically.

Give me a Subaru underneath and a European hatch or station wagon on top. I almost bought that hybrid Saab/Subaru wagon about 10 years ago, but my wife wanted the MINI Cooper.

The 9-2x Aero was a sweet vehicle. best of both worlds really.

I agree with you regarding the current WRX's styling. I much prefer European style inside and out.

But I'm telling you, it's fast in stock form. And when properly tuned, it's a down right beast.

mustang highway patrol car, i did not own it but i did pass some owned faces. :D

and a 77 trans am that was mine, do miss that one.

oh yeah, when i was around 6 a family acquaintance let me drive a gigantic tractor (it was probably regular sized for a 100+ acre orange grove but to me i could crush buildings)...it took weeks to get the smile off my face.

i test drove a ferrari and a porche i was working on at a shop many years ago, hated both due to my big feet.

It was surprisingly a very nice ride. It was stock, the engine had potential for more, handling was good too, sufficient room inside, I'm 6'. Beautiful blue and matching blue top. I never knew it was one of James Bond's cars untill I saw golden eye a while back. Someday i might just find you again my lovely blue z3.

Plymouth Prowler. The attention this car got was phenomenal. It only had a V6 but the car only weighed about 2,700 pounds so it had more than enough pep.

I kept it about two years. Could no longer deal with the cramped leg space as I am 6 feet tall.

Fondest memories would be driving my brothers HDT VK Group A back in the day. Absolute weapon of a car for the time & he had 1 of 50 made. Unfortunately he ended up selling it before they surged in value as he was constantly worried about it getting stolen & rightly so as it was not through a lack of people trying but he had 3 kill switches. A real race car for the road & challenging but fun to drive.

Favourite car I have owned to drive would be my current ride. 2015 Renault Clio RS & I love throwing it around some twisties. Bit of lift off oversteer never hurt anyone . Just like driving a go kart on the road & even on the limit it is predictable & linear. Launch control is a fun diversion but it really shines on tight roads.
