What's the most economical route for high tollerance patients?

It seems like I have to pay top dollars to refill discrete and clean C02 based preloaded cartridges each week. I tried also loading concentrate into .5gm carts; although, I dont think I did it right.

I even tried only ingesting high-concentration edibles (my favorites are the Green Hornets (like gummy bears) or CheebaChews; which worked very well; but, can also get expensive.

I'm curious what's the cheapest route others have taken (also considering that canibus odor (or smoke) aren't an option)

Hmm.. Thanks, but I'm not sure how either solution would work for me; considering that canibus odor isn't an option for me. Im looking for solutions/products already available via dispensaries/clubs.

So let me get this straight. You ask a question and within one hour, you get a few answers that apparently, you are not satisfied with, but rather than either reword your question to help illicit different answers, or explain to those that did answer it, why their answers would not work for you, and rather than waiting longer than one hour for more responses, you conclude that this is the wrong forum for you?

Wow..................

I suggest that your high tolerance is just one of the issues that you need to deal with.

Stop using concentrates for starters. Use buds for a while and just deal with the fact that it isn't the same as hitting globs of CO2 oil. Use a portable vape outside where smell isn't an issue.

After a while of using just buds instead of oil, your tolerance will definitely drop.

I agree with lwien though.

What answer were you expecting to hear? You are tolerant to one of the most potent forms of cannabis. You need to either lower your tolerance, or spend money and keep using more and more like you are now. There is no secret option like "eat mangos" and be high as hell off the same amount you are tolerant to now.

There really are no shortcuts. Just vape LESS for like a week. That should be enough to lower your tolerance at least a little, without even stopping completely.

I haven't stopped in years and years.

OP is lucky that those edibles are working very well. IMO, real tolerance is when even potent edibles like that do not work.

Space your sessions to lower and reduce your tolerance, while saving money at the same time. Like getting two birds stoned at once!

The more processed the product the more expensive it becomes or as the product gets stronger it gets more expensive, which means you're really paying more money for less plant matter while maintaining potency....it's the ubiquitous 80% more money for 20% increase in quality dynamic.

So....buy unrefined product at the lower prices and ingest more product weight to meet your dose requirements, make edibles or even further refine it yourself...any further processing beyond harvesting will require paying a human worker so you can save money by being that human.

Thanks for going into detail; and, explaining why it's not feasible to try to feed this habbit until it's "full", indefinitely. I didn't realize that the body will just adapt to it; regardless if I ingest it or vape it. I'm still learning all of what's available to me at the dispensaries.

It appears what you're suggesting is to enjoy it, the taste, etc... so I dont focus so much on ONLY the result. Thanks so much for this advice.

Also, going back to lowering tolerance... are there any other methods that could help throttle product intake?

As for being the wrong forum. I obviously spoke too soon! My apologies. I do really appreciate everyone's answers so quickly after I posted.

IMO any pre made edible or co2 cartridge are way way overpriced. I would suggest at least making you own edibles, and getting a load as you go oil pen. You get way more bang for you buck finding a good deal on bud and making it yourself.

And a load as you go pen will help monitor your concentrate intake as opposed to assuming they aren't lying on their packaging.

I don't trust any of the stuff people put on my meds unless I know the source very well, and even then.... DIY is the way to go with you medicine IMO

While I have absolutely no experience with concentrates, I do have the reputation around here for not only having one of the lowest tolerances here at FC, but I've also, thru decades of use, been able to maintain that low tolerance. Here's what I've found works well "for me" when I get the inkling that my tolerance is increasing:

Switch strains.
Switch to a different vaporizer.
Go on a "T" break. Just abstain for a day or two helps a lot.
Scale back your daily usage by 50%. If you vape 8 times a day, cut it down to 4. If you vape twice a day, cut it down to 2. If you vape once a day, cut it down to every other day.

And specifically for you, I would think that switching from concentrates to dry herb would also be very beneficial in regards to lowering your tolerance.

btw, glad to see that you are engaged here rather than just leaving. There is a wealth of knowledge here from which you can learn from.

Collect your ABV and make a tincture or a food product to supplement the oil. ABV can be very potent.

I mix wax and flowers together in my Solo with my Bubbler in the evenings, it been helping me with pain and sleep. Thats pretty potent for me. I only use top grade herb.

A couple of quick questions, first of odor is a problem for you how did your tolerance get so high in the first place and second if you are compliant with your state laws why is odor a problem?

While your tolerance may be higher than you want it, unless you are dabbing globs all day it probably isn't as high as you think it is. If you are then I hope you have been saving your reclaim. That makes it more economical because you get a second use out of it. I made a half batch of reclaim crispy treats last night with about 0.75g of reclaim and 1/10 of the pan had me comatose. Not the usually heady high I prefer but if you use for pain relief or sleep, they were great.

Edit: btw @MKANET glad you made it through the "hazing" this is a great community and we all like having fun here, occasionally it is at a new members expense but no one here is ever mean about it like I've seen on other forums.

Can I suggest asking yourself why exactly you use Cannabis? It helps put things in perspective. If the object is to feel better, it's not usually found at the top of the dose curve. Besides, it's not very interesting if you can't tell the difference.

Not everyone complies with state laws. I do....NOW that I have medical, but never did before.

Also even with my medical card there are times and places where odor could be a problem. With family, my girlfriend (doesn't care that I vape, however she hates the smell so I try to be respectful), some friends that don't vape I try to keep the smell down, bosses, police will still hassle you if they smell it vs not stopping you in the first place if they dont etc etc.

Soo true. As a matter of fact, symptom relief can usually be found in the lower portion of the dose curve and anything higher could actually make the symptoms worse.

Those O.Pen cartridges are extremely expensive: $30 for 0.25g oil + 0.25g PEG400.

They come in limited varieties. I would consider you lucky if a strain offered adequately relieved your symptoms. I am not so lucky, and would need to vape alot of the "wrong" strain to be satisfied. That compounds the price problem quick.

My situation mirrors yours: Tolerant chronic user who want to get meds at a dispensary rather than grow my own.

Don't worry, there is a happy ending to this. I'm plenty medicated all day long on a fairly modest budget. You will have to roll up your sleeves and put in some elbow grease, but you would never smell anything cannabis-like in my house.

Where I live, the demand is highest for cosmetically perfect flowers as well as wax. Ice water extracts have fallen out of favor, making them very affordable. I also have access to dispensaries that lab test EVERYTHING[1], you may not be so lucky. Some places lab test just their top shelf stuff.

It is very easy to make an alcohol extract from hash. I use isopropyl alcohol, but I would use Everclear 190 if I could get it. There is definitely some finesse and technique needed with quickwashing flowers[2], but with hash it is child's play [3].

$100 buys me ten grams of 40% THC hash. I do not have the tools to measure my actual recovery rate, so let's pretend my wash is a 75% efficient conversion. I end up with 3g of THC as well as a bunch of terpenes that I swear have therapeutic effects. I'll round up the price of alcohol to $1 per shotglass-full (don't drink it).

PEG400 is http://www.medical-and-lab-supplies...ycol-400-usp/polyethylene-glycol-400-usp.html ten cents per mil, so I spend fifty cents a batch. I myself dilute it further with PG ($4 bottle at CVS) but that is personal preference, I enjoy vaping, and I enjoy vaping PG.

I load it all up in a cobalt bottle with a eyeglass dropper, they are $1.50/ea from good nicotine-juice vendors. Finally, I minimize my long term costs by investing in quality e-cig hardware. Leaky non-servicable carts cost a lot in the long run.

So, that's me. $101.50 gets me the equivalent of a DOZEN o.pen carts[4]. I have control over strain, solvent, diluent, and sterility of mixing equipment.

[2] alcohols are aggressive polar solvents that tend to strip flowers of chlorophyll and plant waxes, in addition to cannabinoids. If you screw it up you get unvapeable green dragon.
[3] I don't let my children have access to my hash, alcohol, peg400, or thc-juice. I am convinced that kindergarteners can do this if guided. So can you.
[4] does not include the value of my time, nor the cost of the energy to evaporate the alcohol.

Nobody seems to have actually answered the original question?

IMO the 'most bang for the buck' is bubble hash. Grams here can be had at $10 on occasion, with THC content running about 50%. That equates to $30 grams of bud?

It's no doubt market driven, of course, but bubble is a byproduct of normal dispensary goods production and therefore potentially a consumer bargain. If it's available where you are, by all means consider it?

I miss good old bubble hash. No one seems to have it here anymore but when the dispensaries open I need a nice chunk. Goes well in the cera.

Boy, ain't it the truth? I was told most of the bubble is being diverted into oil/wax production for mere profit?

Still, it does show up. I've been known to 'limit out' (ten grams max) and come back the next day for more. A 'get while the gettin' is good' deal, only different? It is lovely in LL Cera, either alone or with bud. Also in the Iolite.

One thing sure, it's gonna get used up. Good to keep an eye open for and be ready to jump on it.

Regards,
