If you see the oil bubbling, pooling and whatever, imho it means that you are placing too much concentrate and too little weed.Well for me I like to preserve flavor and terps as long as I can. I have issues with this though. I'm doing cold starts and I usually just get it hot it enough to see it start to buble. That works good but then the rest of it just pools. So I sit and try and time it so it won't burn but that's easier said than done. Just a few minutes ago, my first time trying "badder".

The goal of sandwiching is to avoid the concentrate to liquify, damaging a vaporizer not designed to vape trates, or falling off from the oven in liquid form and not vaporizing it.
@jerri knowing which vape you are using would help, but there are many variables at play. Just put a grain of rice on a bed of weed. Especially if it’s a portable that you are using, start at low temperatures and check how the concentrate behaves.
After a few hits the concentrate should have made a mash with weed. In the bestpossible scenario, go on and vape, rising temperatures if needed. If oil is pooling or weed is scorching, adjust your weed/oil ratio.
Maybe you should sandwich, if you oil pools inside the chamber. And place less concentrate next time. It’s not just “which temp to use”. Not to mention the fact you both don’t specify which vape are using how can we help? Not to mention that draw speed, nature of the concentrate, its purity have a big role and again it’s not just “which temp”.I'm just using the concentrate, not sanwiching.

No I was talking to you actuallyI think you quoted the wrong guy. I'm just using a regular torch and rig. Anyway, shouldn't you be able to take a bigger dab and keep it at the right temp without burning it and vaping the rest of the pool at the bottom of the banger?
I don’t own that one, but
No I was talking to you actually
Well at least it was the bottom of a banger and not a portable vape oven.
I may be not on par with the latest developments, but as far as I know concentrates, I never heard of a “session/pool mode” like that. You are supposed to put a “grain of rice” quantity and inhale it in a hit or 2.
I've seen plenty of people take huge dabs and not have to load it up every pass.
They are probably doing a regular dab where you heat the nail up hotter and hit it on the coil down. cold starts don’t have the thermal energy for getting a bunch of hits off one heat up.
