What is your longest serving vaporizer?

Like many here, one of the reasons I frequent these forums is to read threads in order to glean information on vaporizers such as their function and effectiveness. A part of this information gathering usually entails looking at the quality and type of materials used, device specific or general design features, construction methods, and the durability of the product. The aspect of durability leads me to my questions for anyone interested in answering:

What is your longest serving vaporizer, and how long has it been in use?

Whether this is a vaporizer that is still in use by you, or one that you've used and retired/sold/broke/got bored with/lost etc. in the past, I'm curious to see what kind of long-term usage your vaporizers get, as well as to see what devices have held up for people over the years. I suspect logs and most butane based units will be popular answers, but that's just conjecture on my part.

What sparked this for me is that I recently used my Volcano classic for the first time in just under a year. This unit was purchased in 2004, and was a daily driver of sorts as I mixed combustion with vaping pretty regularly back then, and it was used in this fashion until about 2012. Life circumstances dictated that I could no longer smoke or vape indoors, so my Volcano usage frequency dropped dramatically pretty much overnight. I still have the opportunity to use it a few times a year, and it still works perfectly. So for me, depending on how you look at it, the Volcano has been my longest serving at just about 15 years. However, since it's no longer my daily driver, I also consider it to be about 8 years of service from that perspective.

In addition to my Volcano, I've owned a Pax 1 that worked from 2012-2017 and was used almost daily until the mouthpiece/on-switch stopped working. It was replaced by a Pax 2 via warranty replacement. That was used for about 6 months and was subsequently sold. All of my other current vaporizers are less than 2 years old.

Volcano digital for me, had it about 5 years.

Had another digital for 5 or 6 years before that and the switch went. I had it fixed and gave it to my nephews to get them started in vaping.

Other than the volcano the only vaporizer I use is my VapCap, and I just got a Caldron to make that more fun.

Magic Flight Launch Box was my first vaporizer that still works as well as when I first acquired it about 2 & 1/2 years ago.
I know, I'm still such a new/young vaporist. Though, I've been a cannabis user for around 20-years. I came to vaporizing late in the game.

Interesting thread. I'd have to say my bronze vaporgenie. I've had it for several years (8?) and it is still in the rotation. Of course having no movable (or breakable really) parts gives it an edge over those new-fangled vapes the kids use these days with electricity.

I've been meaning to get one of those. As such a major player in the evolution of cannabis vaporizers, the Vaporgenie deserves a place in my collection before they stop making them.

My first vape is the HerbalAire2.2 and it's still working very well. I like you can load a huge bowl for an intense flavor. It's 6 years old. I have a Vaporgenie classic which is a bit less than 6 years old and still working perfectly (I never combusted with so the taste is still good).

Started with the MFLB and a few months later the Solo. Over 5 years and both are still working perfectly. The MFLB doesn't get used much but the Solo is still in heavy rotation.

Yeah. My MFLB doesn’t get used much these days, but I occasionally pull it out for a comforting, nostalgic session...and I can still get blitzed with that simple, reliable vape. I’d never not want to have one in my collection.

Interesting how many viewing this thread and responding mention the MFLB. Mine's 5 1/2 years old. It is getting less use as my SwiftPro is so easy to use, but every month or two I take the time to grind a load in the Nano grinder then place it in the Finishing grinder on the box and shred to a fine and fluffy coarse "powder". There is no doubt that the MFLB is the most efficient portable on-demand vaporizer. The learning curve is a bit high to make it shareable, but using it and having complete control of the process is nice.

I didn't realize the significance of the VaporGenie or how well-regarded it is, thank you all for posting and pointing it out. I remember seeing it a while ago and thinking that it reminded me of the Lotus. I think I've conflated the two since then. I'll have to take another look at this (and the Lotus too). Definitely looks like a contender in the longevity department.

Mine is also my Volcano Classic, with Easy Valve though. It’s been my daily driver for over 10 years. Never needed repair or maintenance, I leave this sucker on all day sometimes.

Volcano digital for me, had it about 5 years.

In October I'll have had my Volcano for nine years. It's been a wonderful machine. Aside from bags no maintenance or spare parts have been needed.

I was also expecting some Volcano responses based on my own experience. My classic is a tank, and is easily my favourite. That's probably nostalgia talking given that it was my first, and suited my life perfectly at the time that it was used regularly.

Purple Days (circa 2011) it remains the focal point of my collection. It was my initial vaporizer purchased after being impressed with reviews and feedback from its tight knit community led by it's developers Tom and Pam (I continue to wish them well). It remained my sole vape until I was diagnosed and succumbed to VAS two years later. It continues to work well in both efficiency and effectiveness (despite its 30 minute warm up time). I am enamored with the beauty of the wood (East Indian Rosewood). This "old-school" vape is deployed solely for special occasions these days; and has a penchant and appetite exclusive for "top of the shelf" flower; Lambs Breath and Kilimanjaro are among its favorites.

My Dynavap by a long shot. 2 1/2 years now with no end in sight. I have a revolving door of electronic vapes but the VC transcends time. Feels like I've been spoiled by the efficiency and the blistering speed at which I can get medicated and I can still work it for great flavor too. It has it all. And with all of the aftermarket gear available for it, I've got an upgrade path. I'm considering buying a lifetime supply of butane like...tomorrow.

I consider the Vapcap to be the cockroach of vapes. I could see them surviving long after most other vapes have turned to dust. :)
Yup, my 4th generation 7-fin titanium tip and cap tick like a swiss watch, even the O-rings show no signs of wear despite me removing the tip from the stem almost every day for over 2 years.

I do wish I could own a Plenty....that thing seems like a really reliable long term investment for an on-grid vape.

I still use my Vapir Rise 2.0 from time to time when I’m craving a bag. I bought that sucker just after joining this board. And then I’m using my Haze Dual v3 again as I left my Ambit with a friend for a bit. Dual v3 is maybe 3-4 years old.

My volcano classic is now 10 years old. Still works great. At 6 yrs old my ssv I bought at a garage sale for $12 (I had to buy a wand and whip tho) is still going. And my mighty is 5 year old now, and of course still working.

Current drivers now are a newer mighty and a saionara.

My EQ was the first vape I bought shortly after returning from Dam in 2008 and it is still my most used along with my OG Air and Pax, those two I've had for around 3 years but the EQ is 11 years strong

These OG Airs can take some serious abuse and just keep on going.

Definitely either one of my MFLB's from over the years or the used Da Buddha I got from a member here back in 2012 lol. That thing still serves my friend's household reliably every day. Pounds and pounds of bud have been through that thing and it just keeps trucking on.

As far as vapes in my current possession, the AirVape X is nice but I'm not sure if I'd purchase it again. It's pleasant to use though it requires water filtration, otherwise the vapor is just too hot; the mouthpiece is right on top of the heating chamber. That design simplifies cleaning the device quite a bit though. It also seems to chew through bud a bit faster than I'd like; the chamber is pretty decently sized, I probably average about 0.3g in it depending on how finely I grind. Also while being battery powered is great for portability, I can only get about 3 or maybe 4 three minute timed "sessions" out of the battery before it requires recharging which takes about an hour. It can also get pretty warm when used for consecutive bowls. I do very much enjoy the precise temperature controls available.

Conversely, the Underdog I have is something that I don't see ever really dying. The design is simple and straight forward that I have an intuitive understanding of how it works. It's so efficient and it feels like a grown up MFLB. The only complaint I have is that it's almost too efficient. The bowls are pretty much one-to-two hitters, even when using the GonG mouthpiece/adapters which are slightly bigger.

Thus, the search for the perfect flower vape for me continues...
