What is a Recycler Rig?

Ok so sorry for the dumb question, but i keep searching and just getting pics of people and their cool new rigs, but not an explanation of what this function is. I am new to dabbing, been making BHO for about a year but have always vaped in pens or with a domeless nail on my various tubes. Looking at getting something smaller specifically for concentrates (maybe a beer glass) but i am just not sure what this recycler function is. Anyone who can answer, your response would be greatly appreciated.

A recycler is basically a water pipe that is designed so that some of the water actually travels the same path as the smoke and then the water collects back at the "reservoir". They come in all different designs and sizes. Its best to watch a video to know what i mean.

One of my favorites;

I dont have one so i dont know if they hit any better then regular diffused bongs. What the effects are, (smoother hit?) are there are a lot of guys around here with experience. I'm sure they can pitch in.
