What do you mean by portable? Slip into your pocket and use anywhere or can I pack this up and take to a mates house?
for portable i would say slip in pocket or throw in a backpack without having to worry about picking up shattered glass when i get to a new place, so not too many glass pieces that can knock around and break.
Ispire daab has no atomizer as it is induction, there are a lot of different conc vapes out there now. just wanted to see what yall have been using by personal preference, opinions welcome

If you want a portable truly, xmax qomo is surprisingly quite nice with the quartz atty... You can connect a male joint to it instead of the stock water piece, I actually might like it better than most larger erigs that I've tried and also my Sai+ bottomless banger set up, since it offers a lot of simplicity without sacrificing much vapor quality, I like it better than the dablamp too and have been able to hold off on daab and wand or a core so far (for the most part I prefer to rely on a quartz banger and torch through recyclers to dab)

The RiO was my favorite for about the past two years, over the OG Core. I would recommend both.
I bought an Ispire Daab a few months ago and havent touched any other rig since. There isnt actually a temp sensor so the sesh mode runs on a timer, which is my only complaint with this thing. Otherwise just hold the button until the desired amount of heat has been reached and viola, simple tasty hits. I find it easier to clean than a banger. The inserts are hot after a dab but super small and cool off quick. Also no more butane to buy or refill. I would like to try the Dabber Switch at some point but probably wont as I kind of assume newer tech will come out in the few years until I get the itch again.

In December 2021 I picked up the original Crossing Core during a sale and fitted it with the Divine Tribe v5 coil that Humboldt Vape Tech was selling as an upgrade to its Hyperion (their label for the original Core). The ease of cleaning the V5 makes this my preferred way to use rosin.
I thank BabyFacedFinster for his reports here at FC, they played a big part in my decision to purchase a Core sight unseen.
While the Core came with a decent carry case, I don't regard it as portable. I'm retired and still avoiding pandemic travel so this hasn't been an issue. If & when travel again seem appropriate, my older wax pens at hand include an ezSai or, for utmost stealth, a Linx Ember.

I have found great, consistent results with a DabRite... but there are many options for portable temp readers.
I've tried so many... still never found one that I'd WANT to use over a real rig or a RiO.
Most recently, took a new Peak Pro out to Crested Butte on a fishing trip, then over to Red Rocks for Widespread Panic. I hope it's the last time I have to use a Peak... it just does not compare.

I am with you, atomizers are a poor representation of a dab. Induction on the other hand is every bit as good as a rig. I was shocked at how good it is. Havent touched my RiO in 2 months and it was my go to for 2 years. I have flat bottom, curved, and the standard core banger for the RiO as well.

No experience with it but that new Puffco Proxy looks cool a hell. And while atomizer based it used one that also heats the walls. Lots of great potential with aftermarket glass. Greek Glass already seems to have an adapter with 10, 14 or 18mm male so you van use with existing glass.
From reviews looks like battery doesn't get you a ton of hits tho.

For portable dabs, Puffco Peak Pro for the win (there is a reason people are willing to pay that horrendous price)...that k-type thermocouple on the bottom of the cup lets you dial in a temp and keeps it there during a toke. Second would be my DAAB with a SiC cup.

I haven't been on here for a while! Maybe it don't count as an e-rig, but I am super happy with my Huni Badger. Things need to be ultra portable to me, and the Huni Badger genuinely gives me e-rig quality clouds in a pocketable device. I started my portable dab rig journey with a Dip Devices Little Dipper, but I agree with above statements about atomizer units. They get shitty fast and gum up and start tasting like shit quickly. The Huni Badger is amazing, true portable, near instant and lung busting dabs. I am sure, however, that there are better out there, I'm here to hopefully see what! The design of the Huni Badger can't be the only one out there or only similar design. Educate me!
@LesPlenty , I would like try a Puffco Peak Pro at some point, it looks nice, although not as discrete as I'd hope for an e-nail. But functionally, it looks awesome and ideal for home or some travel. Probably not on the boat, or kayak for me but maybe back at the campsite.
@FlyingLow , that Dabrite looks amazing for a home rig. For a home rig I just have a fairly cheap Amazon titanium enail that has always done the trick, but honestly, since getting the Huni Badger I've only plugged it in a few times, the Huni Badger has been that good. Downsides are that it requires frequent cleaning and the ceramic tips are a bit delicate. I also understand I'm sacrificing some flavor for portability, but if you time it right you can cold start with the device pretty good with flavor.
I bought the cheapest water tool they had at the time, but it's not worth using for me at all. Sometimes I'll use it dry but with water it's not worth it. Also don't bother with the low temp tip, basically it makes you heat it up longer to get big hits and you end up just using more battery.

AVS M22 atomizer on an eleaf Pico. The sapphire pearls keep the vapor comfortable without water. The dabbing substrate is SiC, and it tastes at least as good as a cold start dab on quartz. And it's powerful enough to emulate a torched dab if you want. I've tried a lot of e-rigs and while many of them are great, most can't do that.
You can put one of these things together for under $130. Less if you have an old Pico or other Arctic Fox mod laying around.

Where did you get a sic cup for the daab, you just use an insert or are you using the one from the dr.dabber or one from DVT for the v5 and just put it in the daab induction cup?
I've personally been using the daab, and ironically the yocan orbit as a porrable has been really impressive for a yocan product and there reputation. Got me looking back to DVT as I bought from mat the year he opened and went up to the 2 before I have up on the 510 technology.
I use a Dablamp SiC insert with the metal surround taken from a broken DAAB cup.

The way my stock cap fits and sticks to the cup in between sessions is what's kept me from using the daab daily. Is the replacement one better? The replacement caps are about 4-5mm shorter and work a treat (so do a couple of other branded carb caps), I only use my long cap when I use my modded...

I should check my notifications more often. I use the Daab by Ispire. It uses the same principle as the Wand, but the induction heater is built into an e-rig shape. Drop in one of the quartz buckets full of concentrate and heat via induction by pressing the button. Super simple.

I use a TRVP V3 on an eleaf rim c. I don't think there is a way to take quicker hits. Good temp control and I can kill a dab in about 5-10 seconds total from pushing the button. Coil does need to be replaced on occasion and I don't really enjoy building the coils that much due to downtime but overall I love it. Battery lasts forever with this setup as well. Blows away any portable dry herb vape on that front.

Recently bought a Core 2.0 using the DTV5. I don't have a whole lot of experience with erigs or concentrates, but can say this one is very easy to keep clean and use while delivering a delicious taste. Definitely not pocket portable, but small enough to easily along in a bag.
