Generally, about the time a woman is ready to give birth, her doctor will start talking about circumcision.
It is a very deeply entrenched cultural thing in much of the USA, with no ties to religion any more.
Usually, as was the case with my own kids, parents go along with the procedure based on "when your son gets to jr high, and has to use the locker room, you don't want other boys laughing at him for being different".
At this point in my philosophy, I would not have it done to a child. However, functionally, it seems to make very little difference. Yes, I've been well-acquainted with both. My preference is my current husband's.

Not saying that they actually DO.. but this is what parents are TOLD...I don't get the whole getting made fun of for your foreskin in the locker room...kids have way too much time

I was only cut because my foreskin was too tight, my mom said it was restricting my urine too much. Happened when I was about 4 and I remember it vaguely. It was horrible and I remember stitches and it hurting for weeks and it being uncomfortable urinating. Was still too young to really understand what happened and why, all I knew was that this part of my body was bugging the shit out of me.

A topic I see discussed often(too often sometimes). I happen to have had the snip(like I had much choice in the matter, being an infant and all 
). Personally, I find to whole procedure to be barbaric and inhumane in this day and age. Watching any videos of the procedure will show as much.
For those whom may wish to "reverse time" and have what was lost; there is an organization that may be able to help(in the future).

Just because someone came along and trimmed the tip of your gherkin, doesn't mean you still can't have a good time. 
Edit: Don't forget men...there is still another 6+ inches there, not to mention girth. Fingers, tongues and noses...you get my drift. A piece of skin does not make or break a great lover.

True, it still does function as any normal penis would. I just don't understand it though. Why perform an overall unnecessary procedure(exempting the few medical complications(which might be solved non-surgically))? Not to mention the fact that they're used to further the vanity of others. That's just sick.

What I remember from the HS showers is certain black guys who would slip in a maintenance stroke to keep their already intimidating member semi-hard ... just to further humiliate the white boyz I think. We white guys are growers not showers, we would try to communicate to them through mental telepathy. I can't remember once anyone being made fun of for their package though. In fact staring long enough to notice would have been the most uncool thing anyway. So free-flowing commentary about cut or uncut is special to this forum I believe. I suggest learning to age gracefully and forgoing the pills, powders, and creams. You'll find greater happiness repairing what is on the interior, more-so than what's on the exterior. You may look your age; but who say's you need to act like it?

I don't want to look like it OR act like it. I look in the mirror and go, "OMG, you're an old fuck", and then go out, run my 4 and half miles, come back, take a few hits from my LSV, stick in my earphones and blast some Stones, Neil Young and Zep through my faded hearing from going to way too many Hendrix concerts when I was younger, look in the mirror again, and say to myself, "Who in the fuck is that guy?"

Actually, the anti-wrinkle creams are created from foreskins(the cells within them, specifically), not applied to foreskins.
