I like that beaker, I own a Ehle 100ML and I think I would perfer the beaker, I own a Vriptech Pro Tool Beaker and they are really fun to milk with vapor, tubes are easier to clear though, so they do have they're tradeoffs, with this one I would go with the beaker though, being that its so small clearing should be a total non issue.lwien said:

Whenever I have a viable option, I'd rather support businesses here in the US. If I'm gonna buy German glass, at least I wanna buy it from a US distributor. Just doin' my VERY small part to help our economy whenever I can. I know. Doesn't really make any difference other than it makes me feel a tad better.standard said:

Hi lwien I can respect your reasoning. That is an interesting article, would love to have some of those ornaments hanging off my tree.
Both the ehle and the aqualab beaker are 9 inches. It looks like the beaker holds at least 30% more volume (trying to visualize the volume of the bottom of the beaker minus the bottom of the tube). Might be harder to find a replacement downstem for the aqualab (looks short). One thing I don't get looking at the ehle 100 is what appears to be a close proximity of the bowl to the mouthpiece. Maybe it's just an optical illusion, but it looks like you could put an eye out with that thing (or at least scorch an eyebrow).

The beaker looks nice for sure AND it's 9mm glass which the EHLE. isn't. Like someone else pointed out I sometimes find that with the angle of the diffuser on the EHLE the bowl area comes a bit too close to my face. I'm sure you'll really like the beaker.

So I just got the HVY-Mini in the mail from Aqualab. Received 2 days after I ordered it. Here's a few pics. Not bad for German glass made in the US for 45 bucks. The PD stem just sits in the downstream like the Ehle without having to hold it in place. I likes it.
They made some improvements on it from the one in the pic on Aqualabs site. Some nice glass scrollwork on top of the tube. It's 10.5 inches long versus 9 inches, and the joint is now welded on the glass versus being "in" the glass, which apparently, makes for a connection that is rock solid versus a bit woobly as stated by another user at a different site. Diffuser included or at least I think that it's a diffuser (6 small slits on the downstream). Bong rookie here. :/ Kinda fugly, but as long as it works, Imma fine.

Yeah.........pretty toasted right now. Loaded her up full of ice. Actually, ice pieces. Can't get cubes down that tube.
Gotta experiment. I gotta do a stem without the bong one night, and a stem with the bong the next to see if there's any difference. Once nice thing about this is I can drink the ice cold bong water when I'm done and it tastes just like fresh water. Every little bit helps, eh.
But yeah, just as in smoking, I seem to be able to take in a lager vapor hit without coughing when ice bongin it.
But this beaker may be a bit too big for the PD. I can't seem to get that thick vapor going in this like Vtac did with his 100ml Ehle in that video. Could be the lighting though, I guess, but this beaker does add quite a bit of volume.

you can also try it with nothing in it. Thats what I do with my PD. I find I get nice huge, easy too handle, hits this way compared too when I use water. I have also achieved this with bigger bongs. The bigger the bong the bigger the hit. The amount of hits also goes down as the size goes up. For me at least, whenever I use water the hits are not as huge. The chamber inside has enough air too cool it enough for me too handle it just fine.
