Volcano is nothing special

I was 'lucky' enough to have my first vape experience with a Volcano. It was about 2 years ago. The only thing I remember was a bag filling up with dense vapour and the taste was average with a strong high associated with it. I enjoyed using the vape, but after using a few other vapes and experiencing whip-hits (kinky) I now realise what an utter rip-off the Volcano was.

I hate seeing it as NUMBER 1 VAPE on all of the review sites and Top 10 lists. It isn't the number 1 vape.. It lacks functionality, is overpriced to the point that it is fucking ridiculous, and due to it's niche price-range market; it lacks the community and ongoing discussion that other, more affordable vaporzers have, and it's huge.

I'm not sure if this is already old news, but the myth that the Volcano is the best vape in the world just because of its pricetag is rubbish.

I know for a fact that it takes 3 minutes just to heat up, whereas most other desktop vapes can heat up to max temp in 60-90 seconds.

The Volcano still has a market and a niche market at that. For most serious vaporists it is not going to cut it for personal use. But they say market demand determines price and people are still buying it.

I'm happy with mine for what it is. When I bought it 5 years ago it may or may not have been the best bag vape on the market. It was the best vape that I had personally used, so I bought it. Today I know it's not the best... Time tends to render things obsolete.

Thankfully today it's easier to be an educated stoner than ever with great resources like FC to help choose among the growing number of high quality vapes on the market.

It's no doubt a good vape for what it does, but it's not great that a lot of people are still going to go to google and type 'best vape' or 'top 10 vapes' and find the Volcano at the top of the list every time.. It gives people the idea that such a large amount of $$ needs to be spent just to get yourself a high quality device.

You are right Deja Vu. Before I fucked combustion I almost got into vaping a couple of years earlier. My research led me to the the Volcano but I just could not see how using those stupid bags would suit me. They do suit many though but personally I don't want to know about bags. They seem unhygenic, filthy and wasteful to me. There is a lot of misinformation circulating about vaporizers. Fortunately, we have all wound up here at FC. This is one place where you can get good, honest and often instant opinions. Honestly, I doubt the Volcano would even make the top 10 list for many members here. This is not to say that it is not a good product though.

Can you say from personal experience that you know of a better, more efficient, faster bag filler than the Volcano? Youre going to lose that bet. I get that you think its too expensive and that you dont want to fill bags, but it sounds like you dont know a lot about bag filling vapes. Maybe I'm wrong.

@hoptimum You aren't wrong. If bag filling speed is it's claim to fame then I guess it's well-earned. With other vape's faster heat-up-time there may be a vape out there that can heat up and fill a bag in a time to potentially match that of the Volcano, who knows..

I have several desktop vaporizers and none of them heat up to max temp in under 3 minutes. Just sayin'...

I think the Plenty probably takes 3-5 minutes to reach maximum temps. I've never timed it to be honest. Honestly, heat up time is not so important to me at home. Although since getting an E-Nano I must admit I do enjoy not waiting for my Solos to get ready

Yeah, I recently decided to finally get rid of it so I bought a solid valve maintenance kit from S&B.
All the o-rings had dried out.

It's a Volcano classic from back when there was only that... lol... I think I bought it in 2003/2004 and it cost me $1100AU.

I am one of those many who find the vapor out of the bags to be harsh. While it was healthier than smoking, I actually coughed WAY more using the Volcano than I did combusting.

Not used the volcano but the new Herbalizer is meant to be at vaporizing temperature in 10 seconds using a halogen bulb as a heat source , it uses bags or wands and had been hailed by some as the best vaporizer on the market. For that price it should be.

The durability, reliability and overall quality of evcery single Volcano part is so high that it makes it cost too much for its function.
I don't hate the Volcano at all, it's a great vape, not the tastiest or milkiest, but overall it IMO rightfully belongs to the top 10 of vapes or so.
It's probably not worthy for most people, hovewer it's also possible to be the best vape for SOME people.

If you want a realiable and quality bag vape, that will serve you for decades and can withstand serious abuse - get a Volcano.
I think there is actually no bag vape than competes ALL the positive things about Volcano. Yes, some vapes are better at some criteria like Herbalizer's faster heat up, but lack the other ones. I think the Herbie can be broken much more easily than a Volcano.
I think a vape can't be any more robust than the Volcano at I think that is what makes up most of its price.

There is no best vape, but I think it could be possible to make a TOP list. If a vape is soo good you can't find any other vape that is better in every way it would belong to that list.

IMO a MFLB would be there. It's opposite - VapeXhale Cloud would be there aswell.
Of course the Herbie, but also the Volcano. The sub also has its place there and probably much more...

So when finished, that would be the list of best vapes. But that is completely unsortable. So there are many best vapes that are just "best differently".
