Very fast Brownie Recipe(Oil based)

I have always had a hard time choosing what to do when it comes to edible time for my ABV or fresh bud. Every recipe online is different so in the end you always feel like you might be doing something wrong. This is a rehash of what I learned trying many different recipes, and IMO, the strait easiest and fasted way to make brownies. From scratch to finish it takes like 1 and a half hours maybe 2. The only smell to worry about is when your actually cooking the bud in the oil, but just turn on the fan and it wont be any stronger than alot of vaping going on in the room.

All you need is:

Brownie mix that asks for 1/2 cup oil
1 Egg
1/2 cup Canola Oil
Frying pan or wok
Strainer or coffee filter
8x8 or so pan
10-28 grams of MJ or ABV(this is your desicion, can use stems and all plant matter because it will be strained)




Step 1 - Put the 1-2 cup of oil in the frying pan and get it to a simmer. Not a lot of constant bubbles, but to the point where every few seconds a bubble comes up. If its sizzling and bubbling constantly its too hot. 1 random bubble every ten seconds or so is more like it probably.

Step 2 - Pour the finely ground shake(use a coffee grinder if you can) in and let it cook for about an hour. Mixing every ten minutes or so. After an hour it will be blackish oil and the weed will be like sand and there probably wont be much left.

Step 3 - Pour the oil through a strainer and into a big bowl. Squeeze every last drop out of it any method you see fit. Strain until there are no particles in it for the best taste.

Step 4 - Well now its just about making the brownie mix with your newly acquired canna-ola oil. The only method of extraction in this whole recipe is that canola oil. You dont even need to make it into brownies, you can use it in any recipe that calls for a 1/2 cup of oil, thats what we really made. But go ahead(after the oil cools) and add 1 large egg and the brownie mix and whatever it calls for. Probably just the oil, water, and an egg or two.

Step 5 - Then bake your brownies in 20 minutes or so and enjoy. You can wrap and freeze the rest for later. They hardly have cannabis taste and virtually no smell. If they taste gross you probably burnt the weed in the oil, you really only need a mild simmer.


Oil is such a better method for cooking than butter, first of all its much healthier, and secondly it can be done so much faster. I'm sick of people thinking you need to do a 22 hour long butter extraction just to make brownies. I just used a 1/2 ounce of ABV and followed my recipe making 10 strong ass brownies in 2 hours. I know its nothing new I think herbgirl posted a similar recipe, but I thought I'd make it easier to find because it really is such a quick way to get the most out of large amounts of herb.. Well I'm getting too high as we speak from this brownie so I have to stop typing. :peace:

Nice tutorial man, it sounds like a nice alternative to making cannabutter! I'm gonna have to give this a shot very soon.

Yes that is totally the same recipe and a better version of it I guess but I just wanted tio make this method even easier to follow because it seems like no one appreciates it.

I just made a batch of brownies, following this recipe. I only left it in the hot oil for about 40 minutes, however. It seemed "done" =)

I used about 17 grams of ABV and a few grams of high quality shake. So 20 grams total, cooked for 40 minutes and 1/2 cup of oil produced. I used it with a cheap brownie mix with eggs and a little water.

I am an edibles lightweight, so I am a little scared, hehe. I have had a couple of intense (ie. bad) experiences in the past. My doctor suggests the "don't eat until it's dark and you have nothing to do" rule. So I am going to try one tonight to help my pain and sleep problem.

Thank you guys for this great recipe! I cut my brownies up into 12 pieces- that's a little less than 2 grams each. I ate one last night around 7PM, by 9 I was feeling a great body buzz. So good, in fact, that I barely vaped all night. They tasted great, too! Much better than butter- you really didn't notice the herb taste at all.

I tried to get some sleep around 11, and had such cool closed-eye visuals that I just laid there enjoying it for another hour or so. It was awesome, but not too overpowering. I would not have wanted to be out doing anything, but laying in bed I felt no back pain, and things were very groovy. I slept the best I have in weeks. I still felt a bit groggy in the morning (6:30), but quickly got over it with some coffee and White Widow.

Anyway, I have been very afraid of edibles since my 2 bad experiences. I really enjoyed this, and as long as I don't have to go anywhere, or do anything, it's a great way to medicate for my pain. It's amazing that you can get this body buzz, closed-eye visuals, etc. from ABV!!

I have 54g of ABV that comes out of the grinder dry and powdery @ 5 oz. I have one box of brownie mix that calls for 1/2 cup oil. Can this equation happen and how? I have already made brownies before with just grinding up the ABV and throwing it in the batch. Too gritty and the taste was wayyyy strong. I want to try this method but I have saved up 54g and the Dude wants it all in one batch. What can I do?

With that much, I'd do something similar as the cannabutter recipe. I'd use your 1/2 cup of oil then add water until liquid covers your ABV. Put it in a covered baking dish. Set your oven for 225F-250F and let it set for an hour or three.

Then strain it and squeeze all the goodness out in a cheesecloth or old tshirt or a potato ricer or a french press. Then put it in the freezer to separate the water and the oil.

Having said all that, I've never done this with oil, only butter, but it should work. If you want, you could use 2 sticks of butter which is a 1/2 cup of butter. It may make your brownie mix more fudgy than cake like though.
