I have always had a hard time choosing what to do when it comes to edible time for my ABV or fresh bud. Every recipe online is different so in the end you always feel like you might be doing something wrong. This is a rehash of what I learned trying many different recipes, and IMO, the strait easiest and fasted way to make brownies. From scratch to finish it takes like 1 and a half hours maybe 2. The only smell to worry about is when your actually cooking the bud in the oil, but just turn on the fan and it wont be any stronger than alot of vaping going on in the room.
All you need is:
Brownie mix that asks for 1/2 cup oil
1 Egg
1/2 cup Canola Oil
Frying pan or wok
Strainer or coffee filter
8x8 or so pan
10-28 grams of MJ or ABV(this is your desicion, can use stems and all plant matter because it will be strained)
Step 1 - Put the 1-2 cup of oil in the frying pan and get it to a simmer. Not a lot of constant bubbles, but to the point where every few seconds a bubble comes up. If its sizzling and bubbling constantly its too hot. 1 random bubble every ten seconds or so is more like it probably.
Step 2 - Pour the finely ground shake(use a coffee grinder if you can) in and let it cook for about an hour. Mixing every ten minutes or so. After an hour it will be blackish oil and the weed will be like sand and there probably wont be much left.
Step 3 - Pour the oil through a strainer and into a big bowl. Squeeze every last drop out of it any method you see fit. Strain until there are no particles in it for the best taste.
Step 4 - Well now its just about making the brownie mix with your newly acquired canna-ola oil. The only method of extraction in this whole recipe is that canola oil. You dont even need to make it into brownies, you can use it in any recipe that calls for a 1/2 cup of oil, thats what we really made. But go ahead(after the oil cools) and add 1 large egg and the brownie mix and whatever it calls for. Probably just the oil, water, and an egg or two.
Step 5 - Then bake your brownies in 20 minutes or so and enjoy. You can wrap and freeze the rest for later. They hardly have cannabis taste and virtually no smell. If they taste gross you probably burnt the weed in the oil, you really only need a mild simmer.
Oil is such a better method for cooking than butter, first of all its much healthier, and secondly it can be done so much faster. I'm sick of people thinking you need to do a 22 hour long butter extraction just to make brownies. I just used a 1/2 ounce of ABV and followed my recipe making 10 strong ass brownies in 2 hours. I know its nothing new I think herbgirl posted a similar recipe, but I thought I'd make it easier to find because it really is such a quick way to get the most out of large amounts of herb.. Well I'm getting too high as we speak from this brownie so I have to stop typing.
