It's a shame the Versa group has seemed to have lost some steam, no new developments for quite awhile.
I have a few new-to-vaping friends who have all cut their teeth on the Versa, and love it. Just hard to steer them to a company who had so many things coming up in their original FC thread but has been so silent after.
Anyway, per my post a few back, I tried Chris's advice on smaller dabs using the concentrate bowl... big difference. I think I corrupted my "science" by overdoing it lol. I like it better than my previous double cap ELB method. Big clouds and super tasty concentrate vapor!!
IMO, the Versa Infinity can definitely hold its own against the other top desktop vapes we discuss on FC.
Love to see what Versa could do if they were in this game 100%!!
That's good to know, I'll been meaning to grab one of those concentrate bowls so maybe when my body comes back. The only thing is I have no access to concentrates atm, but it's next up at the ballot box. Have you tried it with oil/sublimate, or kief? That's what I have access to until something changes.
What is your preferred voltage for flowers with the stock bowl, on boost?
I've been without my infinity for about a couple of weeks now, and there's no substitute imo. I have an evo and while it's not far behind power-wise, I don't like it as much ergonomically and I find the elb's to be a hassle. This is why I'm rooting for this concentrate bowl to work for you guys!
By ergonomically I mean that with the evo it's harder to just grab the cool part of it, without bumping the knob out of adjustment. This is one reason I like the fact that the infinity has a separate controller box. Also even with a more supple cord than stock, there's no contest the evo cord is still quite a bit more cumbersome than the versa setup. What the evo has going for it is it's a little lighter, and much more durable (unless it falls on the bamboo). Although I doubt that the evo would have survived the event that caused the demise of my infinity, it might have had better odds.
I would love to pick and choose features between these two vapes, and create the ultimate hybrid!
It seems that the versa website is close to being up to speed, it just needs a functional shopping cart (it was limited to just one item checkout when I grabbed my extra bowl), infinity bodies to be "in stock" for us, and complete stater kits need to be listed for new customers. On the upside of versa's status atm, is that we have gotten a great deal on a one-of-a-kind heavy-hitting vaporizer!
I think that all of our beta units have been "tuned" slightly different, I also believe that chris is continuing to tinker with this stuff. We've got huge differences in our reported voltage sweet spots, some of us have bodies/heater cores made for boosting, and some are built for inflation. While it would be nice if a single unit could provide both boost and inflation, I think it may be an intractable issue without changing the whole infinity design. I know that I wouldn't mind grabbing a second heater/body/base for airpump/balloon use at some point, especially if prices stay in beta
and the same controller box could be used for both units.
