Discontinued Versa Infinity - The Glass Vaporizer

The Versa looked to have a bowl designed to get a lot of hits out of.

I'd be curious in it as another personal vape, or to use with other people who know how vapes work. I'd still be hesitant to pull it out though if I was with guys who generally combust.

Which leads me to my question, how user friendly is it? All of us on here have owned numerous vapes so I feel it's hard to get a read since we know the tricks and have the patience to get a vape working optimally.

How do you think it would perform for someone who has never used a vape? Would combustion be a big worry? It seems to give off vapour easily with no fancy technique, which is a big plus when using with friends (it's why I love the EVO).

I was surprised how easy it was to get a great hit. Mine does not seem prone to combustion even on full boost at 88v, which was where it first started getting darker abv. I have settled back to 79v for now, at that temp it would be hard to make an error and it still milks solid white and leaves the abv an even golden color.

Ive used this with only smokers and have tried the Hookah adapter right after being informed on what it was. Hookah was alright but they didn't clean theirs after having it for 3 years so we eventually had to stop because it tasted like strawberry and was giving scooby snax That test really was for science because I hate using a piece that wasn't cleaned after a few times of being used. I won't mate my vapes with used water pipes.

Either way it was nice, Its very user friendly the only complaints I got was the tubing bent so they had to hold. I only had 7th floor tubing so I feel that could become not an issue in the future. And having to hold the glass bowl when pulling. Everyone quickly figured out boosting and said Payton this is the easiest vape you've brought over.

They also didn't end up smoking right after like they normally do. I have also let users try and figure it out themselves with simple instructions. I'm not sure how many of you take this beta test but I am trying to mold this vaporizer to be consumer friendly. Another reason towards choosing bags, most consumers seem enthralled by them and I understand they do make it easier for new users.

There's a new body with a handle.

I need a new body because my Infinity originally arrived slightly damaged, but fortunately it is fully functional. I should post pics (can't right now), I have extra holes/cracks around the bottom opening, I have to use more of my whole hand to use boost.

I can handle the body heat so far no problem, but the low temp handle will definitely be necessary for Hookah mode where it heats up a lot more since it is inverted for longer periods. The handle does look more like a slapped on design than "new" design, and also looks like a possible knock-over/tip-over danger.

Maybe he should have made it modular/removable? When I heard a handle was coming, I thought it would be more like a sheath/frame or wrap around thing like the handle for a French Press Coffee caraffe.

I find the heat from the bowl right after use a bigger issue and finger burner, I actually find myself using the toy tongs on rare occasion the bowl sticks to the Infinity when removing. Way back it was mentioned there would be a new bowl with a longer handle coming later.

This is interesting, I have a makeshift boost cap in place and get super dark abv on anything over 55v, and have combusted around the 70v-80v range boosted. Difference in heaters maybe? I know mine is the older style with smaller aperture. Because of this I get some hot spots, but using a dome screen/ELB cap as a bowl instead of the standard screen minimises that.

I would love to get involved with the new and future mods, but being international feel that I need to wait for a fundamental change in design before I would be willing to send it across the pond to Chris for tinkering.

Anyway, been experimenting with concentrates tonight...

Wrapped in wisps of cotton and flattened into the dome screen. Hit it at 70v-80v with boost and got some really thick hits. As good as the Nano for clouds, but maybe the Nano has the edge in flavour, not sure...

So, I can safely say I am still enjoying the Infinity experience!

Yes I wouldn't be surprised some of our infinitys have been tuned differently,
as per the beta testing aspect of different variables.

I'm a bit disappointed that mine can't be adapted for balloon use,
but the boost works great no tinkering required

Balloon use currently isn't that ideal, taste from this pump is horrible and I can't even taste the delicious vapor. While I will be doing more testing after the 24th when I am finished moving my short period with bags were nice but not any better than the Volcano or EQ IMO.

Hopefully a faster pump fixes my gripes because the 2 minutes its taking to extract and form a bag is a bit too long and results with only being able to form two measily bags and with a tolerance like mine those 4 back to back bowls for bags didn't leave me anywhere near as medicated as two bowls on boost with less herb.

So far boost is the REAL hook about this device. Unfortunately mine need to be at least at 75v to kind of milk it.

I still do like the vape but one of the reasons I stopped using it was I was combusting way too often.
Like others mentioned I don't like the handle at all. In fact I think it looks stupid.
As for some of the other changes I lost track of them a while back. Us guys who got in early are unlikely to get upgraded and the only way Chris will get another dime from me is out of my cold dead hands.

I feel where you and others are coming from in regards to Versa, my perspective is rather different. All my personal dealings with Chris have been rather problem free which probably helps a lot. The Infinity is an incredible vape that can keep up with the best mentioned on this forum, if it were not for tainted past, this thing would be mentioned alongside the Evo, sublimator and Herbalizer. This keeps me a big fan of it, I almost feel like I am in an exclusive club since so few own this vaporizer. I plan to stay with this product and upgrade it as necessary in the future, it is such an effective product.

Now regarding why would I do so with a company that has a poor customer track record? Again, it has yet to be that way with me personally as a customer. But bigger than that, I do not own a vaporizer that seems to NOT have somehow alienated a lot of customers, so I look at it as part being in a tough new and growing industry, part having demanding customers, part everyday business tribulations and yes, also business ethics which is a really gray area to me.

The vapes I own and their problems:

• Versa Infinity - we all know the history
• Pinnacle Pro - several units degrading in the field, many customers upset at quality and company's warranty practices
• Sublimator - Early adopters angry about unfriendly and costly upgrade path when they were the first supporters of the product. Many issues with original unit timer box and other components. Other broken promises like the moon tool.

Everyone also knows the issues with the Cloud, Cloud + and Evo with VapeExhale, but their customer service has been interstellar and probably the best of all companies here.

I guess my point here is that if I wanted a vaporizer from a company that has not had serious issues with their product and customers, than I wouldn't be vaping at all! My Herbie seems to be the only exception, it's good but I like the Infinity better.

It is my hope that Versa and all other vaporizer companies will look to VXL as a role model in terms of service.

I'm always forgetting to share tips for avoiding combustion while using the Infinity boost feature. It's really just two things:

Fast Draw Speed - inhale harder while boosting. You'll know you are drawing fast enough when you hear the high pitched whistle sound.

Timing - it's good to use a WT where you can easily see the vapor forming. When using boost, as soon as you see the clouds forming, that's the time to back off and uncover the airlet. You can always recover the hole quickly if you sense you pulled off too soon. Once you get the timing down, it's nearly impossible to combust. I often find that a little bit of boost unlocks a lot more vapor and you can uncover while continuing to draw big clouds, sort of like it takes a moment to melt off the covering but then the floodgates open.

Timing may vary a little bit with these techniques based on your preferred voltage and starting temp, at lower temps you may need to cover the hole for longer until the boost kicks in. I think some of you guys use constant boost under 60V? I don't go that low and only use boost to finish off bowls once the vapor volume starts to trail off. Water tool design may also affect this by its level of air restriction.

I hope this helps people avoid combustion, I've only combusted once in the last month while applying these things and that was because I was reading FC at the same time and forgot to watch for vapor and pull my hand off the boost. Although the taste of acrid smoke is good negative reinforcement.

Over time I have been wiping reclaim onto my Herbalizer's aromapad. I tried it in Herbie once and it was smooth and very long lasting. That was only whip scraping reclaim, this time I have a bunch of reclaim scraped from the inside of the joint of the stock Infinity bowl, very thick and sticky.

So this time I decided to stick the pad in my Infinity bowl, crank the control box to about 103v and see what happens. Dear lordy.

I've done two full 5-8 minute sessions about 3 hours apart of just pull after pull and this thing still has more in it. The vapour is VERY potent, seems much more potent than through the Herbalizerat 445f. I just need to use boost for a split second and the vapour comes pouring out.

Sorry Versa, I don't see a need for a separate concentrates bowl, this steel wool pad thingy works just great.

I just evaporated iso used to soak/clean my Claisen and Infinity bowl, so I have a tray of a bunch of stuff to scrape up so I can do more of this convection dabbing.

I don't have a silicon box container thingy for oil, what can I rig up to store it in and not waste too much stuck to the sides?

So I have two areas at home where I can vape: the basement mancave/office, where the sublimator lives, and sometimes a portable or two. And the attic bedroom/sanctuary, where there's a good half-dozen premium vaporizers plugged in, and all of the glass. This is the vaporlab. In the vaporlab, I have access to an evo, herbie, 2 ssv's, and an lsv. Since I got it going all I've been using when I'm up there is the infinity.

Unless I feel like filling a balloon, or vaping reclaim-soaked hemp fibers, then I reach for herbie. But I'm sure the fibers would vape great with the infinity! I went for the versa "beta" because I wanted a backup for the evo, but even though the evo's running great it's been pushed aside, it's the other way around--it's the backup now. The ssv's have been re-purposed, but one is always standing by!

A couple of things I have noticed. One, the white insulation around the wires attached to the heater do not appear to be discoloring, like some of the earlier models reportedly did. I was somewhat concerned about this, as mine seems to like a higher voltage than some have reported. But they are still bright white, like new in fact and I've been leaning on it pretty hard, probably running it for about 12 hours most days.

Number two, it warms up surprisingly quickly. I would say it's ready in about 5 minutes, faster than any of the other plug-in heavy hitters except herbie of course.

I'm really enjoying the infinity, and wondering if we're some kind of exclusive club or if this will make it to any kind of mass distribution. Perhaps it will always be kind of sold like glassware more than a vaporizer?

I agree, feels like an exclusive club at the moment! With so much bad press at the beginning of this thread, I wonder how many people stopped following it and might well be pleasantly surprised to hear some of the more recent comments and improvements

I have a pre-order (int'l) for an EVO, I have been toying with the idea of cancelling it since receiving the Infinity...

Today I tried it again with some wax that I made. I just put the dab on top of a small screen and it was pretty good. However I had a second go but this time with the screen inside the regular flower bowl. 109v and full boost. Oh yeah! Milked up the do20-w and the effects are really nice

I have been doing concentrates wrapped in wisps of cotton using a dome screen in the regular flower bowl on 60v with boost. I pull really lightly/slowly for about 10 seconds to get the load heat soaked and to see the start of some vapour and then start inhaling full speed and get thick low temp hits of tasty concentrate vapour.

I love it, highly recommended. I find lower than 60v and the load doesn't get fully extracted. Above 60v and I start to lose flavour and perhaps scorch the cotton slightly.

Try it, you might like it! Also I will be experimenting soon with SS wool instead of cotton as per @herbivore21 suggestions in the Nano thread

Cheers @GSH I will try it!! I just had another one. Now I'm super medicated Didn't think about going low temp. Like I say today was my dab cherry popped I just made some qwet wax and until today i have just been mixing it in with my herb. I thought it needed to be at full power but I will dial it down to 60-70 next time. I think I like this!

I use the "steel wool" Herbalizer oil pads in my Infinity bowl with reclaim. The vapor lasts fucking forever! Just keeps pumping out on a small dab of the cannagrease. Only have a little oil I make myself, so can't do it too often, so it's a 'treat' for me.

I thought I was on my way to en Evo eventually, but the Infinity gives me pause. I have an Herbalizer too that I use for change of pace, it's an awesome unit, but the Infinity is clearly the HVIC, head vape in charge.

I have also been using my Versa pretty exclusively aside from occasional Lotus sessions. Now that I have the voltage dialed in and the boost plugged closed I'm loving the huge & tasty hits I get at 64 watts with half and elb cap. Much more even colored abv as well. Even sent my Sublimator to a temporary foster home because I kept grabbing the Infinity every time.

For me the daily drivers are infinity, sublimator, and firefly, with herbie and a ssv on standby.
I really like my evo, but it's become the odd man out as has the lsv.
Both have great carry cases, so I'll hold onto one of them for transportable use.
Oh yeah the lotus, that's always on standby too!

For me the Infinity is definitely not my daily driver. I find the E-Nano so much easier to use and I consider it a better all round vaporizer. I tend to go for it first every day without really having to think about it. I was considering trading/selling the Infinity but as we all know it hits so hard that it is probably just worth keeping for that reason. It hits harder than the E-Nano but overall I prefer the E-nano. However, I really enjoyed using it as an e-nail yesterday. Perhaps I have found the best use for it for my personal needs. Originally I believe it was aimed more specifically for use with concentrates rather than flowers. Before yesterday I had never attempted a dab. I have mostly just been mixing the concentrates with my flowers. I guess that this is not the most ideal method though. It works but you end up with very dark avb. Doing the dab on its own seemed much better. I think I am going to have try it again tonight

P.S. Thanks to GSH. I dialed it down to around 75w and it worked very nicely.
