I can't really comment on heat of the outer glass and I really should not be using my unit in the state it is but I have and will continue to until my replacement arrives.
There is a learning curve to remember the bowl is Hot, especially the top where the heater is, however you will never see me grab a TI nail with bare hands either. The nub on the flower bowl is manageable for me even after the Versa has been sitting on there for flower even after 5min. I remove the bowl by the nub and then grab it by the lower joint which is not even that warm.
In concentrate mode the bowl will get even hotter, I can still manage to touch the nub of the flower bowl but prefer to let it cool down a bit.
I am getting flower hits that are very tasty when at a lower setting with no boost, they are thinner hits but the taste last through out the session. Increasing temp and using boost will produce lung busting rips, there is a fine line with the boost and I need to play with dial setting to get better results.
Edit: I just did a lung busting flower hit with boost, great flavor, massive cloud instantly with boost, still a little black in the center. Turned the dial down, reloaded and did another boosted hit, less milk but gave me two tasty hits, still some very dark center. Gonna try rabid fire boosting instead of keeping it covered the entire time.
