I second the glass casing. It is what makes your product unique to the market. The integrated color sounds like the winner to me.
Excited to hear about thermocouple/thermostat control. This will be crucial for exact temperature control.
I'm beyond excited for the final product.

^ This X Infinity, thank you.

Agree with glass for the G1. As for the integrated color/baked color, the integrated certainly would be preferable from a buyer's perspective, but for me at least, it would all depend on the benefits vs. the cost. It's hard to know from an outsider's perspective what exactly would be lost if you went baked over integrated and what exactly the cost differences would be. I don't suppose you have some pics that would illustrate the difference between the two? If not, maybe a detailed description of identifiable differences one method offers over the other?

One option would have glass under the hard gloss enamel and the other would just be colored glass.

Above is integrated.
Below is enamel

The benefits of the above is that we dont have as much work in the assembly process but we have a higher initial cost.
The enamel is similar to what you find on new teakettles. Its washable and thick.
The enamel also makes it look like a ceramic vaporizer.

What do you think?
The second question would be..... should we apply that to the beta units? Everything counts now folks, this is the final stretch before you receive the units. I'm pushing for the units to be done by Friday. We will ship as we complete assembly. @Madcap79 will for sure be the first with one since he ordered first.

So tell me, do you care enough about the integrated color to slow down getting a unit? (probably not)
We can for sure apply it to every unit by spring.
Let me know what you think.

We will make the G1 glass then, the votes are unanimous.

I would prefer the integrated color even if I have to wait a little longer. I assume that means the units that are made already are of the enamel variety? What process was used in making the white model in the picture? I've never been first at anything. So exciting! I better be home when this arrives!!! You hear me work?!?!? :goon::cuss::freak:

Aside from an aesthetic perspective, which would be slightly more durable from a small drop? If there is no difference in durability, any difference in heat retention? Also, would the ceramic coating be prone to chipping?

Well now i am torn. I certainly do not want to slow down delivery of the betas but... The integrated glass will look much cleaner imo.

Great Scott!
Me too, but I'd rather be able to use the halogen heater eventually. That is much neater.

It must be glass body IMO. How it is colored doesn't matter to me personally. Whatever the people want haha.

Since the G1 is made with cost in mind (which i think is a great idea and i agree on your 100USD base price), i would make the G1 enamel coating and the MKII integrated color.

As for the material, all glass baby! :D

I like this idea also, and it could be one more thing that separates the G1 from the MKII. And I wouldn't mind waiting a little longer, either. I fall back on my initial idea: I'd rather wait and get it right than rush and get it not quite.

Is this what you're talking about,
that if the heater is halogen the glass body has to be coated with ceramic?

How crazy! Ok let me try to answer all the questions.

Yes enamel would be more prone to chipping in the event that that took place. Its pretty hard to chip and I know for a fact it takes more than a fall to accomplish it. I needed a knife to create a scratch but it can be done.
The integrated glass color is of course worth the wait. We typically have to wait for a shipment but I can likely find a more expensive supplier in California and drive the distance myself to shorten the wait time.

Outdated diagram
BTW that diagram of the halogen setup is outdated. It looks so much different now. You current design isnt final but thats why its called R&D. We may have a demo for that in a few days as well. This is why I hate weekends. All the cool stuff is done during the week.

G1 is frost only since we no longer have to worry about halogen elements. If we decide to have any color but frosted it would be BLACK. Black is nice and simple.

According to the calculations 119.99 is the price point that can allow the most retail flexibility. That may change if we get our prices lower or add new features.

Thanks for everyone who put in thier opinions. We need them badly.

The only way we can get the G1 to 99 bucks is if we used an ABS or cast aluminum frame. I like the Glass originality, it is G1, G stands for glass after all.

Vapor.wise
Frosted is fine in the G1, as long as it's glass, 120USD is still a great price! :)

In that case, i don't know about the MKII, the integrated colouring will definitly look better IMO but then there is the cost increase.

If the MKII is the "elite" model of the Infinity, then I think integrated coloring would be one more selling point for the higher-end model, and most going for that will find the higher cost for integrated coloring justified. If the G1 is the "functional" model, then I think the enamel coloring will be a way to keep the costs lower, and most going for that will find the savings justified.

It's kind of like how you want (and are willing to pay for) leather seats in a luxury vehicle, but when you're going budget vehicle, cloth is perfectly acceptable. Same concept I think.

The aesthetics of the vape are spot on. What will set you apart is how you control the heater and the precision of maintaing a desired temperature. Imo

On the heaters:
  • G1: ceramic heater for flowers only
  • MKII: halogen heater and is for dabbing as well as flowers
Is this correct?
