Thanks for the reply AGBeer. I was thinking of putting a little on top of some bud in my VG and then carefully cooking the bowl so that it melts properly.
The stuff I got is fairly dry and crumbles easily, so it would be tough to hot knife. What if i cleaned out my pipe and then put the stuff on the bottom and smoked it like a free-base?
OK you've got hash oil there - hippy crack

- which is basically a highly concentrated mix of cannabinoids - the various chemically related oils in weed that get you high, which include THC. The different cannabinoids have different but symbiotic effects, so the type of high you get depends on what temperature you're vaping at.
A problem with vapes and hash oil is that many (most?) won't get to the near-combustion temperatures you need to vape at to get all the cannabinoids (as different ones boil at different temps). The whole point of oil instead of vapour from herb in a vapourizer is that it gets you those high boilers without the extra unwanted by-products from pyrolysis. This will give you pretty much the cleanest, fullest high you can possibly get (aside from edibles perhaps).
So if you put bud in with your oil in your VG, you're going to have to char the weed to get all the oils. I haven't used a VG, so I don't know if you could just put straight oil in there, but if you can then that's what you should do.
What you really ought to do though is hotknife it. Or if you don't mind looking like a tweaker, make a lightbulb vape. Looks pretty seedy, but it does the trick. And when I've got oil, I'll do what it takes to vape it properly.
