hi,
before the holyday I got the vapman portable vaporizer and got the time to mess with it so I'll give you my :2c: about it .

So , the Vapman vap body is made out of wood but also have stainless steel , hi density plastic ,and brass (or something really similar) and a kind of composit material (under the bowl) .I'm not to sure if all those material are safe ,I'll have to contact them but I figure they are....

This vaporizer is torch powered ,so basicly you have to heat up the back of the unit during X seconds than inhale .I have to say that it work really well and NEVER BURN .The herb inside can be vap till it dark brown (over vaped) but I never been able to ignite the herb ,what is a really really good feature .The bowl is really small but I think this is the key to get a good eficience.there is also 3 holes around the mouth piece , I figure those holes are there to ''set'' the thickness you want , cause once all 3 blocked you can have vapor hit almost thick as smoke without burning anything .It is also easy to load and come with a hard ''egg'' case to bring it your pocket ...all that really small so I'll have to say that this vaporizer is better than the vapor genie for the hit quality ,thickness of vapor and efficience :o but for 3 time the cost ....

Like all vap this one have wickness ... first , each butane torch have different heat of flame so you need to know your torch cause if you over heat the unit , the part of the mouth piece that is attach to the body will become darker (not burning but getting dark :( ) and it also dont come with maintenance tools (you just need a mini screwdriver for glasses .The only other wickness IMO is the price , I know it is swiss made (TOP QUALITY) and defenetly enought good to be a main vaporizer still pretty expensive (www.Vapenow.com sell it to 144 usd)

I already know that some of you will ask me '' hey it is better than the I-inhale :razz: '' hehe ...on this one i'm lost ... both are so different that I can't really compar them but the Vapman will give you huge cloud and mega efficience in a short period of time and the I-inhale will give you small hit during a long period of time without having to mess with a torch ....I personaly prefer the I-inhale when I'm outside but the vapman win hand down inside at home or in a car

Thanks, CD. The fact that it doesn't burn at all is going to be huge for some people. I know I can burn stuff in my VG. So just to be sure I got it right, did you intentionally try to burn it and couldn't, or is it just that nothing burned while you were using it?

first yes I had intentionally try to burn the inside of the bowl ...but you know this is a wood made vap so I think that at the first ty everybody will try to heat it during a short period of time (like 5 second than 2 second of break than 5 second again for the first light up according to the lil book that come with the vap if I remember corectly )than heat it up 2 second more next time till you get the perfect time ...in my case I have to heat it 10 sec than 2 sec break than 10 sec to get a nice and thick first hit than heat it 10 seconds each time that I want an other puff and I think that when you'll find this perfect timing you'll not bake the unit like I have done (by trying to ignite the stuff inside the bowl by heating it like 15+ second ) and not bake your herb to much ...it will just never ignite or maybe after like 30second more of torching it ....not like the vg ...cause the vg is affect by the force you inhale and the vapman is not ...cause you heat it than inhale !!hope it's more clear for you ....I also found an other wickness , the unit come with a lot of spare ss screen but the screws that hold this screen are screwed in wood so I thing with multiple screew and unscrew with the time it can damage the mouth piece ..but not after 10 time maybe after years

and an other things that turn me off a bit it that you can read the name of the material (the kind of weird composit) under the vap (i know those are write with lazer and not with ink ) it is just ugly

Good info CD. The Vapman doesn't tempt me, but I've heard from enough satisfied users to tell it's a good product that has a place in the vape market.

I'm pretty sure the composite material is some sort of mica compound. I might be wrong however.

Thanks for the review. As a fellow Vapman user, it definitely has a place in my quiver.

Like the PD, I think the Vapman needs dry herb.

And your mention of using the three holes on the mouthpiece to carb the vapor is they key to getting decent hits I reckon.

It's an exquisite bit of design to my mind. A nice little unit for the solo toker on the go.

Hello i just bought the vapman and this vaporizer is awesome, i was looking for a portable vaporizer,small, fast and easy to use. The bowl is very small and I agree that if you have a strong tolerance or mids, then you'll have to repack. But with good bud, I'm surprised at how stoned I get off a tiny pinch in the vapman.
Next step. test it on a bong.

last review .... go for the iroda pt200 honest is good but way too small .... canot carry enought gaz :S u can do like 5 bowl and then you have to refill it soo iroda pt 200 is way beter considering u can let it open at midd temp for 1 hour lol ...

How is the process pertaining to vaping while driving? Is it difficult since you will have a hot item? The MFLB is pretty easy while driving, I assume even easier with an automatic car...

It'd be insane to do while driving. You need to hit a small 1 to maybe 3 inch mark with a jet lighter, which in itself requires two hands and all your concentration.

Yeah, that's what I figure. That's also gonna switch my mind on it since I do most of my vaping on the road.

Please don't vape while driving! Apart from the danger you are putting yourself and other road users in by doing this, you are giving other vapers a bad name by associating yourself with the rest of us. It is insane and suicidal to try to control a car with your cognitive functions disrupted and your brain's defense mechanisms switched off. Even using a hands free mobile phone can get you killed because your attention is not completely focused on the road. See a video on YouTube
about the psych experiment on sellective attention that shows this. Take the five minute test yourself and see how well you do after vaping.

you mentioned are actually the gold-plated copper bowl and the heat conductors, which ensure even heating and prevent burning. Your guess that the wood is lined with mica is correct. Mica is an excellent mineral for repelling heat/flames and reflects it back onto the oven. I have only had mine one day and I am still watching tutorial videos and reading user reviews but there is probably far more information about VapMan online now than there was back in 2009.

One thing nobody has mentioned is how many hits does a bowlful provide, and how can I tell when it needs to be refilled?

How many is very subjective. It's a tiny amount, I probably take half a dozen smallish hits? Not only does the taste change as it becomes exhausted, but it's very easy to open it up and cheat a peek inside. I sometimes poke at the load a bit with one of the cross pins. Remember, inlet air comes up the three tube legs.

As long as we're on the subject of things Vapman, ordering from the factory is fast and cheap. In fact cheaper than many US suppliers even without shipping costs. They have an unfinished model minus the mica for about 2.3 price that works just as well as well.

randomly searching the web after medicating and I clicked on that vid and I got 15 but thought I counted wrong and .yes I noticed the gorilla trying to block my vision But no I wouldn't try using a vapman while driving. Also just made this account just so I could tell you that I drive much better while medicated because I am way to scared to go above speed limit and do anything that would cost my life.

Howdy, welcome to the fun. Great choice with Vapman, IMO. Glad to hear you intend on concentrating on driving rather than your vape, cell phone or other distractions.

However, don't be so sure being stoned really makes you safer. Sadly, the statistics of THC in the blood of accident causing drivers is way out of proportion to the average 'on the street'. It is presumably a factor, and for sure at least some of those guys shared that self confidence......then again so do garden variety drunks. Judgement is impaired, reflexes slowed and the driver is more easily distracted. All factors in drunk driving nobody but the drunks questions.

In general, I think this is bad advice. Enjoy your vape and session in a less hostile environment, one not involving multi ton weapons and soft flesh? Nasty buzz kill, that.
