What orange tab? Doesn't have one. I got this in a trade in deal with Randy (long story). So it has been used a few times but it was completely clean, nothing sticky or anything. He said WD40 or wax or Vaseline might help.

I Finally got it out after a half hour struggle. Now my fingers hurt.

Uncle Vito, you are too much, contacting Vapir on my behalf! You must know them pretty well.

Well, my husband was able to remove the battery no problem, which is fine because the vape was a gift to him anyway. He loves it, says it's like a cadillac of vapes. So there you have it, a real man's vape.

Geez, I didn't think I was that much of a wimp! Maybe I need to use one of those kitchen grippy things like for opening jars if you have arthritis.

Anyway, this thing is one classy, badass vape. It just keeps hitting and hitting! Of course that may have something to do with Sour Diesel . Build quality is outstanding, vapor is very smooth, and Randy at PIU is the man--but you already knew that!

Caveats: mouthpiece is rather clumsy to clean, and it's definitely not for anyone with arthritis or problems with their hands...

Do speak about to remove the mesh screen to get more place for bigger loads....?

I think you can....when I got mine I thought the mesh screen was only for concentrates and I filled the bowl with flowers!

The mesh pad is not only for concentrates.
It is also the bottom screen.
Since heated air is always moving in an upward (toward the mouth) direction, no herbal matter nestles itself into the pad... at the same time no powdery matter can fall into the device.

New vaper here. Few questions.

1: Can I remove the mesh pad and insert my cannabis into it? It came with screens, but they won't fit. If the screens are for the screen in the vapor path, how would you replace that?

2: Best temp for vaping?

3: What is the silicone mouthpiece for?

4: How quickly should I pull air? How long before the initial heat up to wait? How long between hits?

5: General tips for new vapor.

Thanks!

I'll try to reply to you.

1.It is designed to work with a mesh screen in the bottom, even with flowers and it adds some convection. Replacement screens fit the silicone part in the lid (to avoid to get flowers in the stainless steel tube.), not in the bowl.

2.Depends your preferences, test all. Personnaly I like to start at 1 or 2 (it depends the moisture level) for one cycle and switch to 3&4 for another one cycle.

3....? to put your lips on a smoother surface than straight stainless steel tube, but maybe I missing something here....

4.Slow to medium draw is better, hard&steady draws carry too much air but is possible when you are vaping on a full battery. No wait, when you get solid green light, you draw, although it is better to wait 10-15s between hits to get optimal performances (but it depends the battery level too, with full battery there is quasi no wait and with a 50% charge you need to wait for better vapor).

5. This vape is really idiot proof, it was working well with grind and no grind, moisture or not and even with different drawing style. I f you are a cloud chaser be sure your flowers are dry enough, grind it fine pack the bowl and start at 2 or maybe 3 if you get an iron throat! If you are a taste lover scissors cut your load, don't pack it too much and start at 1 or 2. I like to put a bit of ungrounded flower on the top of my load to avoid top lid screen clogging (I was using another screen on the top of the load too but it was annoying so I prefered the tiny piece of bud).

I hope this help, I love my Prima and can't understand why it is so underated here....maybe cause it's not really designed to work with water tools....

Thanks for the reply. The silicone mouthpiece they sell is like an alternate mouthpiece. It looks like its for a watertool but they don't sell one.

Thanks for the reply, I am using the NO2V2 screen on the camera bottom and ensure that will not clog ... all good

I was always interested with Prima since last year. Tons of good reviews and comments from uncle Vito and PPN. However some negative reviews holds my back.. Such as average flavour-conduction vape, and hot mouthpiece with burning air. (According to the Vapecritic, and Buzz.D's reviews)

I can't afford to buy anymore vapes, since I have 3 verbal warnings from my wife. So I sold my Haze V3, and Arizer EQ, Air and Solo.
I'm seriously considering this one or the Apollo or the Vaporcup..

May I ask how does it compare with Air or Crafty/Mighty? Cheers! :)

In my opinion, the Crafty crushes the Prima in taste and effect. Having said that, I'm trying to get it back from a friend who was also disappointed and who is just sitting on it. If I can get it, I'll revisit the Prima. I recently picked up some tips for the Pax2 that have raised my opinion of that vape a bit

OK, folks, I've finally swapped the Pax2 for the Prima with my friend. Thanks to a very concise post on the Pax2 thread, we were able to get results. Now that I have the Prima back, it's time to give it another shot.

Can someone provide their success tips? I've seen @Vitolo recommend a loose load. I'll try that. I saw someone say slow to medium draw. I'll try that as well. Any other pointers for success? Best grind?

I know it has been said repeatedly that this thing is idiot proof, so I must be a higher caliber idiot. In any case, I hope to give it a try tonight and would appreciate any other thoughts.

ETA: Good lord, I can see why she complained about the inability to draw. The upper screen had a crazy buildup of spooge. Hopefully a good cleansing will also improve (although I know it was pretty well clean when I was getting lackluster results before).

That would be my tip..... clean top screen well.
Bottom mesh pad never has been cleaned and is still free and clean.
This unit is convection, so material is pulled toward that top screen, which is where deposits of resins will wind up.
I reiterate my tip about a loose load. Prima likes that best.

Top screen cleaned and loose load in place, filled to the lip. The grind is probably somewhere between medium and high. I'll try slow draws. Wish me luck.

Trip Report:
OK, as I said, I tried a loose pack to the lip of the bowl. The grind was probably medium-ish. Draw was slow as compared to a draw on the Crafty or FW3.

Two draws at temp 1.
Two draws at temp 2.
Five draws at temp 3.
Six draws at temp 4.

Taste wasn't bad (no plastic taste) but it wasn't near the Crafty, Vapman or the FW3 (better than the Pax2). No real vapor until temp 3. It wasn't terribly visible until temp 4 (although this isn't something I actually care about, some do -- it was less than is normally produced by the Crafty or the FW3).

In terms of effect, it wasn't bad but it didn't knock my socks off. The same material in the Crafty or FW3 has a more pronounced effect.

Heat up is much faster than Crafty or Pax2 but not as fast as the ESV or FW3.

Tonight I'll try a bit of wax with a blanket of flower.

Overall, I wasn't disappointed, but it pales in comparison to the Crafty, FW3, Vapman and even my revised usage of the Pax2.

Ok, as previous posts have shown, I resurrected this vape from purgatory to provide a prodigal son opportunity. Overall, my opinion has improved considerably.

Having said that, I'm finding that I agree with @M0J0. I have done 30-40 sessions through this vape. A session consists of 5-6 draws at temp 3 and 5-6 draws at temp 4. Once or twice a week, I soak the tube, mouthpiece and filter gasket in ISO. The flavor is good (sometimes great) but there remains an ever present layer of plastic taste. It isn't sharp. It isn't terribly off-putting. It is, however, consistently prominent.

I tasted metal taste in my firefly when I got it for a while are you guys sure you gave it enough time for it to go away?
