Ok, so I got a Vapir Prima because a very friend of mine made me an offer I could not resist: he ordered one for me, and I'll pay him back in installments.
As you all know from my posts, I hadn't bought any new vapes after falling in love with the vapman, especially since battery vapes have let me down many times before.
My main gripe was that I really did not like having to worry about charging batteries. Leaving the most on the charger so they're always ready and I would just never buy any electronic gadget that doesn't allow me to remove and replace its battery.
So I looked at the Prima that my buddy was enticing me with and decided what the hell. It does have a removable battery, it's made of aluminum, not all plastic, and seemed sleek and small enough...
So here are my thoughts on it:
- profesional looking build - check
- nice stealth black color - check
- removable battery - check
- battery craddle/charger - check
- very fast heat up time - check
- nice ergonomic form factor - check
- good reviews - check
I've only had it for 2 days but i have already tried it and like it.
I'm very happy with all the points listed above, but here are some gripes...
- unit can get pretty hot. It comes with a bowl condom that you can add to the end cap that covers the bowl, but the whole body and mouthpiece can get pretty hot if you go over the aylutomatic session shutoff time.
- I'm used to the tiny vapman bowl which always gives me the right effect, so Prima's bowl was huge to me. If I load it with the same amount as a vapman Bowl, it doesn't even give me any visible vapor at all. I think it's because the herb particles go airborne when you draw.
I even added a second screen but this didn't help, so I had to use about double the material I would on the vapman just to get visible vapor. This is a very negative point for me because the last thing I want is to double my expenses on material...
- but the worse part for me, that I haven't seen anyone post here is the horrendous burnt plastic taste! I shit you not... I did three dry runs to try to get the I'd of the taste and after two more sessions, it still has that horrible burnt plastic taste! And I'm inhaling that shit into my lungs! WTF?
My buddy tells me that it will go away soon, but damn, this is nasty shit.
Other Plus points:
- I like the form factor a Lot.
- very good build quality
- it has almost Zero smell - less than the vapman
- it's almost instantly ready
- very easy to use - like sucking on a hot milk shake, but this is also a negativ, because I Love the ritual of using a vapman...
- it seems to hit a bit harder than the vapman, but I'm using more material, so that may be why...
I will post more after I've used it a bit more, but for now the burnt plastic taste is a huge turnoff for me. I guess ive been spoiled by vapman's natural materials, copper, gold and wood?
Anyone else get this or am I just a pussy?
Anyway, I'm so grateful to my good friend who got this for me! I will keep experimenting and report back.
