Vaping Northern Lights

Has anyone else vaped this strain?

I was given some to sample recently and looking at it I was not impressed. The buds were medium sized and seemed kinda dry. They didn't look frosty at all. It smelled ok, but nothing special.

The potency was suprisingly good. And the clouds just kept coming. It was an unexpected suprise for me to be sure.

I was wondering if this is common in other people's experience and especially with this particular strain?

The reason I ask is that I have the opportunity to aquire a decent amount for much less than I usually pay. Much much less, actually.

:peace:

Northern lights is a big yielder, decent stone, decent high, almost odorless, not long finishing strain. mold and pest resistant.. I always like to vape a plant that haven't suffered any pest of diseases ... that why i love this strain.. So if what you can get is a decent quality for you.. just jump on it.. Northern lights is one of the best balanced thc/cannabinoid ratio.. ever.. It has a medicinal value.. being not too stony and no to rushy at all.

I'm a big fan of Northern Lights and it is often on the cheaper side of the menu at most places. Nothing like some potent medicine at a lower price. Toss it in the vape and you'll get the best possible flavor out of it.

nothern lights is an excellent strain and one of the first stable hybrids of sativa and indica! while i actually have never vaped this strain, it is an awesome smoke, and i hope to get my hands on some of this again in the future, its been awhile since i've had any.

I'm interested in this strain, which is said to reduce anxiety and induces dreamy calmness without couch lock. But from a few searches, it's not that easy to find.

Does anyone know of a reliable source, particularly in Colorado, to get some of this supposedly fantastic mellow flower? I'd also be open to hash to other non-solvent (no chemicals involved) concentrates.

get any 'new' strain and cut the dose you would use with Northern Lights in half. like, if you would vape 0.1gr of Northern Lights in a session , vape 0.05gr of like OG Kush/Kush Mintz/GMO/any strong indica that you can find today, they are much stronger for the first times, then you get used to them... it's very hard to find a good pheno's buds from old strain today.... it became a mission to find the specific guy who likes the old genetics

I found a good shop in Denver that regularly carries Northern Lights flower. Generally it's hard to find, though.

I understand the comments about substituting a newer strain, but I like the original strains of classic flower. I'm leery of adulterating good strains.

I grew Northern Lights a few seasons ago. It was a nice plant, pretty chill high. Still have a few jars, but it's mostly for sleep now because of the age. I'd grow it again, but there are so many plants to try, and only so much yard.

Those genetics have been so bastardized over generations, I used to LOVE lights in the 90s/2000s but it isn't the same, more like a de-evolution of what it used to be.
x2 NL was amazing 20 years ago. I had some atomic northern lights from a local dispensary a few years back that gave me decent visuals but nothing like 20 years ago. Same goes for Blueberry, tried it a number of times last couple years and it's nothing like the Blueberry from 20-25 years ago

Northern lights is one of those godly parent strains. It's never a very impressive looker in terms of bag appeal, always looking kinda "meh", like it'll be fine but never fire. And then you light it up and it's actually some really bomb ass weed with more fruity tones in the smoke than the smell would've given away at first. One of my buddies from back in the day's favorite strain, we used to smoke together a lot when we were youngsters and he'd get NL whenever available.

I do have to say that indeed, lots of genes have been bastardized over the years. That's why I love it sooo much when an old seed I find turns out to be viable, like the Bad Azz OG I have going rn. It's no longer in the game (BF had it but they've been out for ages) and the creator is gone as well (Jamar Antonio Stamps, aka Bad Azz, died while in police custody 2019) but man is that a strain. I originally just bought it because I was laughing at the name, but the first toke I had from that grow knocked me straight on my ass, no joke. So rn it's breeding city to try and preserve some of that bad azz goodness.
