As a young buck in high school I often smoked in my car. In fact in high school, I'd say I smoked in my car and the car of friends more often then any other place. This was more out of necessity then anything else. With minimal places to stay and comfortably smoke without repercussions, this was a common practice. I graduated high school 10 years ago. In college it was a rarity, we did sometimes as freshman, still living in the dorms. As an upperclassmen, it would only be when taking a road trip, as a way to pass the time.

I do now vaporize in my car an a fairly regular basis. But, it is not my primary place of use. If i am taking a long car trip, i usually like to vaporize for the first 30minutes to an hour and listen to some tunes or sports radio. I take my time on the herb, and drive extremely conservatively. I only put a vaporizer to my mouth when no one is in a lane directly on either side of me. On the highway if there is little traffic, i tend to put on cruise control about 3mph over the speed limit and just relax. When city driving i tend to drive the speed limit, and leave myself a bigger gap between the car in front of me. To be honest, this is more just out of my changed mindset and mentality after vaping then anything else.

I have had two traffic violations in the form of speeding tickets in my life. That's it. Both, i was dead sober and simply driving too fast on the highway. I feel honestly at my current age i have probably driven high about as many times as i have driven sober. This number is slowly shifting towards more driving sober because i swear as a teenage almost EVERY time i got behind the wheel i was taking hits. didn't matter then where i was going; school, work, drivers ed., friends house, i was always smoking if i had some, which i almost always did. Now it is much more rare, but still something i do if i am going somewhere where i would like to be highly medicated, or taking a long road trip. I also like to take the occasional lunch break into a lunch vape where i get in a LB of some good sativa real quick during work.

honestly this is a basic risk vs reward scenario
if you think that getting high while driving is worth the risk of getting a DUI (medical patients included) then go ahead and do it. I do not personally believe it is worth this risk, however I am not saying that I am not one who commits the crime...
I have faced blunts to myself while driving which i feel is the most obvious form of the case... smell issues and big smoke :/
Smoking in a car at all is not desireable because it opens up probable cause... which even if you have stuff stashed in the trunk ur search and seizure rights hold no bounds due to the fact that ur car arouses suspicion due to smell... unfortunately if your car smells like weed and you get pulled over.... they're gonna get it and count on that.
I have seen medical patients get possession tickets from douche bag cops (myself included) and I advise everyone that if you are going to medicate and drive do so in the least obvious way possible... and if smell does not accrue then you should be fine (ie edibles)
tinctures are problematic as well for anyone under 21 as you can blow positive on a breath test and anything in your system as far as alcohol is concerned is a DUI
So whether you think it is dangerous (lwien has some grounds on reaction times and distractions) or you think the risk outweighs the reward... the only thing I have to say is think before you do it! Is this worth the potential dangers ?

Yup, but the thing that amplifies the risk/reward ratio is the risk does not just pertain to you (you being anyone that drives high). The risk is also applied to anyone who shares the road with you and they have no choice in your decision if the reward is worth the risk.

Does getting high while driving slow your reaction time? If one cannot categorically state and prove that it does not, (without any counter arguments that may be just as valid) than the risk exists and extends way beyond the front bumper.

Have I ever drivin' high? Fuck ya. Used to do it all the time. Always took a few hits before leaving work to go home. Thank God nothing bad happened. Hell, I use to drop acid on the way to a concert and tried to time it so that I didn't start coming on to it till I got there. Timing wasn't always spot on.

Can't believe I'm still here considering all the stupid shit I used to do.

STUDIES had found it impossible to prove cannabis adversely affected driving, an Adelaide University researcher said yesterday.

Professor Jack Maclean, director of the road accident research unit, said, while there was no doubt alcohol affected driving adversely, that was not the case with marijuana.

"It has been impossible to prove marijuana affects driving adversely," he told the Australian Driver Fatigue Conference in Sydney.

"There is no doubt marijuana affects performance but it may be it affects it in a favourable way by reducing risk-taking.".......

"I can say that there are some quite distinguished researchers who are going through incredible contortions to try and prove that marijuana has to be a problem," he said.

Professor Maclean said some researchers also found the risk of crashing while driving at the speed limit in a metropolitan area actually decreased if a driver had been drinking but was under the 0.05 blood alcohol limit.

"Perhaps for some people one or two glasses of alcohol may steady them down," he said.

As speed and alcohol concentration rose, however, the risk of accidents rose exponentially.

RESEARCH for a computer game company has found a small amount of cannabis could help players' performance, making them drive faster and safer.

The experiment was carried out for Acclaim Entertainment to see how cannabis would affect people playing its new game, Burnout. A group of 20 experienced games enthusiasts and drivers between 21 and 40 took part in the test to study reaction times, speed, concentration levels and road safety.

Ten of them then smoked about 0.15 milligrams of cannabis, or about half a "joint", while the other ten had had no stimulant for at least 72 hours prior to the test. They were then given a demonstration of Burnout and asked to take the controls.

The researchers say 80 per cent of those who had smoked cannabis demonstrated superior reaction times to those who had not. About 60 per cent finished a lap faster, while 70 per cent experienced a lower number of collisions, and more than half reached a higher level in the game.

When playing in competition with each other, the drivers who had smoked cannabis won eight out of the ten matches. The company claims drivers under the influence of cannabis appeared to have more confidence in their ability and be much calmer.

Simon Smith-Wright, Burnout's communications director, admitted the findings do not translate into real life, but insisted small amounts of the drug helped driving.

He said: "The results of our tests clearly indicate that a small or moderate amount of cannabis is actually quite beneficial to someone's driving performance.

TAKING the high road may not be so dangerous after all. Ministers are set to be embarrassed by government-funded research which shows that driving under the influence of drugs makes motorists more cautious and has a limited impact on their risk of crashing.

In the study, conducted by the Transport Research Laboratory, "grade A" cannabis specially imported from America was given to 15 regular users. The doped- up drivers were then put through four weeks of tests on driving simulators to gauge reaction times and awareness.

Regular smokers were used because previous tests in America using first- timers resulted in the volunteers falling over and feeling ill [ ]. The laboratory found its guinea pigs through what it described as a "snowballing technique" - one known user was asked to find another after being promised anonymity and exemption from prosecution agreed with the Home Office.

Instead of proving that drug-taking while driving increased the risk of accidents, researchers found that the mellowing effects of cannabis made drivers more cautious and so less likely to drive dangerously.

Although the cannabis affected reaction time in regular users, its effects appear to be substantially less dangerous than fatigue or drinking. Research by the Australian Drugs Foundation found that cannabis was the only drug tested that decreased the relative risk of having an accident.

The findings will embarrass ministers at the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions (DETR) who commissioned the study after pressure from motoring organisations and anti-drug campaigners. Lord Whitty, the transport minister, will receive the report later this month

recently did a 3 hour drive while pretty vaped (mostly planned that way, sort of), i drove straighter and safer than normal and honestly i had a blast and i usually hate trips longer than 30 minutes. i had a few giggle fits, that was the only cause for concern on my part...dont plan to do it regularly but thought it was interesting.

i try to be responsible and not drive while high, ive only been in 1 accident in 31 years and i was high as f**k when it happened. it wasnt my fault but i feel like if i wasnt high at the time i couldve avoided it. with that said ive driven high on many occasions, i actually enjoy it on the highway, i just dont like it on the streets....just too many variables. i love my mflb on the go, pack a bowl and i take it with me, if i feel that i need something to even me out ill take a hit or 2 but i really try not to. god bless to all of you that get vaked and drive!

i keep an adjustable hakko in my vehicle at all times. mostly gets used when going to hockey games... between periods, but have found it to come in handy in many situations when not actually driving. i have also used it when driving, but only when there is someone else in the car who can make things easier.

ive been considering hard wiring one to my vehicles battery and mounting it in the dash somewhere. possibly the cig lighter outlet or something like that. that way i could use the lighter itself to cover the gong joint when not in use. fuck combustion.

Well, I'm at work today and wanted to get my surf on so I asked my friend if she by any chance had a power inverter in her car. She didn't. However, she said that she had an actual outlet in the center console. The only problem was that it wasn't grounded. Home Depot is like 5 minutes away from the office so I got in my car and headed over there to get an adapter. How do you feel comfortable driving around with that? Even if you're a MMJ patient, I can't imagine that any cop wouldn't arrest you for driving around taking rips off a bag connected to a sheldon black bubbler. That's just egregiously illegal.

The EQ was my first real vape, and I can only vape in the car. I have more pic posted in this thread: http://www.fuckcombustion.com/viewtopic.php?id=1950&p=131 . The sheldon black fits right into the seat, I mean in the seat, you don't see it at all. Once I'm done, I just tuck the tubing between the seat and the armrest, the EQ I can leave on the seat or floor since no one knows what it is. But since then I bought some portable vapes so everything has changed now. I still can't believed I shoved a bubbler into the seat, hahah

Out of what I've tried I think the NO2 is probably closest to ideal for use in the car, I just wish it gave bigger hits and had a bigger chamber.

If it's charged up and pre-packed, it's a one-button procedure to start vaping. And if anybody were to glance inside your car while passing by you look like ur sipping from a bottle with a straw, nothing too out of the ordinary.

Oh I vape and drive alright. Used my MFLB many times and also recently my solo which was quite enjoyable. I find that nervous/paranoid side of being stoned actually increases my frequency of mirror checks and I drive the limit or slower at all times. Quick lane changes, quick stops, quick decisions all happen just fine. I don't enjoy driving absolutely slammed, but buzzed is great. I can drive all day long and still enjoy it.

I got the MFLB just for smoking and driving. Easy one handed operation and minimal smell are great for the car.

As for driving while medicated, i believe its up to the user to be responsible and know how their body reacts to the medicine. Why doesnt herbs get that same label as other medicines, to just use caution while operating machinery.

I personally am more aware of my surroundings, quick to react and getting pissed off by other drivers is decreased which also results in better driving. I think more dangerous than being high and driving is the act of smoking while driving. Ive done the ol drive with the knee too and fumbling around with an elaborate setup in the car too is bad. I think preparing is best to avoid this, pre load bowls, whips ect. Keeping it simple in the car is likely best.

log vapes work amazing in a car. I use my UD plugged into the 12v by a cell phone charger. Uses only around 5 watts of power so I can use it while my car is off. When I'm driving, it even gets a turbo boost when the alternater starts pushing over 13 watts. In other words, hotter and faster!

I'm guilty of VWD (vaping while driving), thanks to the MFLB car adapter for the PA!

But I'm extra careful, always, and I do believe it's up to each user. Some can handle it, some can't. I have no issue using herb and driving while I'd never drink and drive because it impacts me too much.
