I purchased my first Vaporizer down in San Diego (Hot Box), love the unit but I need to go portable.

What are your experiences with purchasing Vapes from either Amazon or Ebay??

Or is it better to stick with an "authorized" dealer like VaporNation or VaporStore?

I like the fact that the units on Amazon are at least $50 cheaper, but are those sites reliable? Please help

mod note- There are no threads like this in Vaporizer Discussion. Why would you think it belongs there? Thread moved and please review the rules- http://fuckcombustion.com/rules/

I think your best bet is to decide on which vaporizer you want. Then do research on their warranty policy. Some vape manufacturers will not honor the warranty if they are bought from places like ebay and amazon if they are listed for considerably less than their authorized dealers. Then you can decide if the price difference is worth the voided warranty if that happens to be the case.

The vapes themselves will be the same on those sites as dealers just the warranty difference.

Great Scott!
Got my thermovape on ebay and saved quite a bit. The only difference is warranty with some companies. I'm not 100% sure but I THINK thermovape said they will warranty their product no matter where you get it. That's a warranty I like. Since the thermovape is more or less indestructible, I felt fine getting it on ebay.

Just last night I lost on a revolution. It ended up selling for $81 shipped! One hell of a deal someone got there. If I lived in a place with access to hash I'd be so sad I didn't win.

Thanks for the feedback, haha now I'm torn between Price & Warranty

Another point to note is that some of the sellers on amazon or ebay are selling refurbished or older models of the products. You definetly wanna make sure to check what model youll be getting for certain vapes like the Arizer solo or whispr you might get one of the older models that are known to have issues.

Good point, especially with the solo. It should be obvious if it is refurbished though.

It really doesn't matter.. Because as long as their is a serial number on it, you can get a warranty replacement. You should get the cheapest one that comes with the most stuff. I.E. some on ebay sell it with extra batteries a grinder and a carrying case. But if you want to go with an authorized dealer you should get a discount code in the sponsors section.

Not always true. Didn't Arizer reject solos who were purchased from "non official retailers"?

No they said they might but every ebay purchaser on FC was given warranty support with no issues including myself and 2 of my local friends. There have been no reports here of warranties NOT being honored by arizer. Thats simply not true.

They have since abandonded that policy and dont care where you bought it from. I updated the wiki 6 months to make this change clear.

Ok my mistake. Good info. I was going by what they said at first. I'm glad they've changed that or there would be a LOT of pissed off people with defective solos who can't get refunds.

I understand you can get warranty service as long as there is a serial number, but i just dont feel its worth the money to save like 50 dollars on an older outdated models. My buddy got a solo on amazon which was m103, they are on m107 now i believe and the m103 has a bunch of problems and the outdated ceramic heatng chamber that is known to chip and mix in with the material. I feel much safer getting from an authorized dealer rather than saving a couple dollars and a few extras than having to send it back in a couple weeks to get fixed.

Also, i bought my wispr on ebay, but i bought it through the vapeworld.com ebay store. Came with two free cans of vector butane, a free meduim sized 4pc grinder, some sample herbs and a poster all for the same price as it would be normally. You just have to make sure you are buying from a reputable source if you decide to go through amazon or ebay

I agree and that's smart thinking, but it depends heavily on the vape. A thermovape for example is going to be covered 100% and is going to be modular. My Herbalaire was not the latest version but I saved $$$ and really liked it. I guess what I'm saying is be smart and think carefully. Some vapes ARE worth saving on, others you are correct and it is not worth the hassle.

I think I just found the best of both worlds, Got Vape is doing a new "Saw it for Less" Feature. Just to humor myself, I typed in $120 for an No2 because that is the price on Amazon & they excepted it.

Anyone else tried this or is this too good to be true? http://www.gotvape.com/price-match.html

Wow, if that is legit it is a great deal indeed. Hopefully it works out for you and thanks for sharing that info.

I read the info on the bottom of the link, sounds like if it is an authorized dealer they will price match. Let us know if your order goes through.

Yeah it is legit, i think i saw on their site that youll be required to email them a link or a picture of the price though but this shouldnt be a problem if you flund it on amazon.

I bought my LSV from Amazon and everything was cool. The only thing was that 7th Floor didn't warranty it. Arizer does warranty units from Ebay and Amazon though.

I read the page thoroughly, That is option #2 in where you have to send the link for the price match. The simple option is to just type the vape you want on Amazon, then simply enter that price on the Got Vape site. Pay day is tomorrow so I'll let you all know when I get my No2!!

if I were you, I would make a screenshot too, I think it disappears on sites like amazon/ebay if it's sold?
so if you have both a screenshot and a link you have more/better evidence.
