Check my YouTube (links below in signature) for a few vapes through water, my favorite is the Hammer and Versa through water.

I'd make sure its convection, those seem to work best with water as the vapor doesn't dissipate as quickly.

I actually recently bought a LSV off a member on this website. I am ready for it to arrive.

The LSV is also my top choice. The combination of power, control, proximity of herb to heat, and clean air and vapor path allow you to consistently dial into the precise flavor and intensity you desire. Anyone serious about pairing vapor with water will end up at the LSV eventually, IMO.

Are the mechanics about the same with wood log (enano, underdog) and metal log shaped vapes, like the lsv, or evo? Same type of accessories for glass hook ups?

Same setup and mechanics, somewhat different design and materials. With evo, the ELB fits inside the top of the glass tube. The evo can be inverted atop a bubbler or you can use a hydratube. With the LSV and logs, the bowl is part of the glass WPA. The vaporizers are inverted on the wpa into the bubbler. Also, the logs heating elements are stainless steel while the lsv and evo have a glass vapor path.

I'd say they all technically have a glass vapor path. On logs the ceramic heating element is usually housed in stainless steel whereas LSV and EVO (I believe) have ceramic heating elements housed in glass. But, on logs once the heat leaves the ss tube, it is all glass through the material to you - depending on which stem and other attachments you may be using.

Just to add a bit to the post, relocating the herb load in relationship to the heater can be easily varied by changing out some of the glass components. Both the elbow pack http://i.imgur.com/jAWfM7a.jpg and the M2M pack http://i.imgur.com/Szvc5MJ.jpg allow for this. Either change makes it possible to use the LSV with a water tool too.
