Here my review of the Hera2 after a few weeks of usage. First a pic of the box and all the content (you can see the 3 mp's and there is the usb cord and the cleaning Tools in the small boxes:
Like I previously mentionned the building quality is rather nice, aluminium body, stainless steel bowl and proprietary battery. But the mp's are not the best, made of (cheap?) plastic, the hera2 comes with 3 mps, a long one which is my favourite, a flat one (very similar to the Pax3 design) which is a bit harsher at +400°F and another long one designed to be used with the concentrate attachment. Be carefull with iso cleaning, I'm not sure the plastic will support an iso bath and since they are not dismantable cleaning is a pia.
Very thin brand new car smell.
There is a power button and a touch screen. You tap the button 3 time to wake up the unit, choose your setting (or concentrate mode or choose between Celsius or Farenheit and some more options) using the touch screen (very easy to master) and press the power button again +3s to start heating. Unit will buzz while ready to hit. Heating time is fast (20-30s), not as fast as the Fury but faster than the Pax3 imo, here another pic for size comparison (Starry, Hera2 with flat mp and Pax3 with flat mp):
It comes with a proprietary battery you can charge with the provided usb cord although they sell an external charger too. They told me a wpa is avalaible on their website.
Bowl is pretty large, you can load easily 0.2g but it works well with half of that. There is a separation in the bowl in order to lead heat in the center of the bowl using conduction (similar to the Alfa's pin, very effective to brown your abv). I tried to load only a half bowl packed in one side only.... this is don't work.
Now the performances, first i was stocked to read in the user manual they recommand a 420°F setting for flowers.... a bit hot as a starting point although i understood quickly why... very weak vapor under 400°F.
Although, when you understood this and use a 405-412 starting t° you'll get some nice hits and a decent taste (but slightly under the average), I tend to increase the t° for a 2nd cycle in order to extract all the goodies. It seems to be a full conduction vaporizer even if hybrid is mentionned on the box, taste will fade pretty quickly except if you get some self control and keep the t° low enough. Fine medium grind works the best. Airflow is slightly larger than my Pax3 but still restricted (not an issue for me).
Abv comes out whole browned using 2x5mn cycles (405&420) so it seems pretty effective.
Finally i tried once the concentrate insert in concentrate (extract) mode, the experience was very similar to the concentrates insert of the Pax3 does ... flavorfull for 2-3 hits and a lot of hits with faded taste, a sipper experience (but produces a lot more visible vapor than the Lux does!!)
Please, don't hesitate to post your questions, I'm sure I forgotten Something!
ps: battery last 8-10x 5mn cycles.
