VapCap or Log style for fast microdosing at home?

Hello

Already having the Volcano and Mighty from S&B I decided I would like a new vape for fast microdosing.
The harshness of the vapor and the time it takes to heat up the vape is important to me but other than that I don’t really have any special demands or requirements. Oh yeah – I don’t want to play around with water filtration.
I’ll use it at home and don’t have a problem connecting it to the powerplug. Money is not much of an issue – I want the best.

It seems like the best option for microdosing is either a VapCap/Omnivap or a log vape like the Underdog/E-Nano.

I don’t want this to turn in to a discussion between which log is best (Underdog vs E-Nano for example) but rather a discussion between the VapCap and the Log solution. I know it’s like comparing oranges and apples but still it should be possible to find the pros and cons for each in my specific situation.’

Heeeeelp!

Sorry i've just now seen the link...I posted on the other thread.

But, for me, it's simple. Reasons NOT to get a vapcap:
- You really want a desktop vape
- You really dislike heating it with a lighter (though there is an induction heater coming so strike that)

And i'm the guy that calls his cherry enano "my girlfriend", which thoroughly pisses off my real girlfriend :D

But if you want a desktop it's a no brainer, get the nano. Like wood? Get some Ed's TNT stems, they're brilliant! I also have a beautiful GonG connector made by Joda...and i still don't use it :'(

why Not have both, look into woodscents by ed’s TNT. It’s a log vape that utilizes vapcaps as the roasting tube/stem.

Uhm...I really appreciate your input but I must admit that I don't understand what you're writing: "It’s a log vape that utilizes vapcaps as the roasting tube/stem." Sorry for being a pain in the ass but would you be so kind as to try and explain it to me, using other words?

But WHY do I "really want a desktop vape"?
Also I have no clue if I like wood - is it just a question of appearance or does it actually do something to the vapor?

If u where going to go with a log vape. Which one would you all pick? How does e-nano, underdog and WS all compare?

ahaha i don't know why you'd want a desktop vape, but there are reasons! just can't think of any right now :p

The wood is mostly appearance and feel. It does serve some purposes (on the nonavong it makes the seal with the glass, on the nano it maintains a even heating).

I'd say that maybe you haven't tried that many vapes before, correct? There really isn't a substitute to trying them, they're all different somewhat. So this makes the dynavap line even better because they are cheap and you can figure out the details you enjoy or dislike.

You can't go wrong really. If you are using mostly with water get a nonavong. If money is no issue i'd say go for the omni. If you want to try it out before, or just want something indestructible get an M it's a beast :D

The only log i've used is the nano, but always heard it was very similar to the UD.
Main difference is the ability to regulate temperature with the nano. Haven't checked recently but the UD was a fixed temp...
I'd say enano for this. Not that you'll be changing your temps willy nilly, and i've never heard a UD user complaining but...the ability to do it is good, and i have used it (especially in the beginning when you're trying to find your sweet spot. even different strains sometimes need just a bit more or less temp)

Honestly the woodscents was a game changer for me being able to use my vapcaps with my log vape. I love the underdogs on their own, and the e Nano is a powerhouse as well.

The UD now comes with a variable voltage power supply so you can really fine tune the temp better than the enano imho, but I’ve found I can find a good setting on the 1-10 dial with both the enano and the woodscents.

The HI is another great choice but with a waiting list.

Good luck!

Since you already have a desktop vape and you mention that you live in Europe on another thread, I recommend a Vapcap.

The Vapcap is a small portable vaporizer that is efficient and reliable. They are perfect for microdosing. I vape throughout the day. I only vape about .015 gms per load. I pinch a tiny nug off of a flower bud and pop it into the chamber. If you use a quad lighter, heat up time is about 4 seconds. You heat until the click then stop heating and toke. There will be a cool down click that indicates that it is time to heat again. I go through about 3 heating cycles per microdose load. All in, heating, toking and dumping my ABV takes about a minute. The Vapcap is very fast and efficient. No waiting around. No plugs or cords or batteries to manage.

I have chronic severe asthma and I use the Vapcap to ease nausea and pain symptoms from other health issues. I use a degummed hemp fiber filter in my Vapcaps to create a super smooth vapor that never irritated my lungs. The link below shows how I make The filters.

The vapcap is made by Dynavap. It is tiny, the size and shape of a cigarette. They are arguably the most attractive vaporizers on the market and are made from materials like stainless steel, titanium and wood. No plastic anywhere. The price is very reasonable, from $55 for the basic all stainless steel M model to $95-$115 for the titanium tipped models and up to $190 for the top of the line all titanium Omni model. All the models are fantastic vapes. My personal preference is for The Ti tipped models. The Ti tips have three ridges in the bowl to allow for three different bowl sizes. You just seat your screen in the ridge you prefer. The titanium heats up and cools down faster than ththe stainless steel tips of the M model.

The Vapcap is a dry herb vape but it also handles hash and concentrates as well. It is surprisingly efficient and you will get much higher with less material than many other vapes. You'll certainly save money on bud.

Vapcaps are heated by just about any heat source. The common way to heat them is with a small jet butane lighter with anywhere from one to 4 jets. I like this one, linked below, because it is about the same size as the Vaocap and since it is ignited using a flint, it is quiet as well. You heat the cap until it clicks a few seconds later and you are ready to toke. You can also use a bic, a candle, an induction heater that you plug in or is powered by rechargeable batteries if you don't want a flame. Other sources of heat for the Vapcap is a campfire stick a stove element of even a solar heater. When the power goes, no worries. No batteries or cords to fuss with, replace, charge or organize. The Vapcap will always work.

This is a long term vape. You may consider putting it in your will, cause it will still be functioning. There are videos on YouTube showing the Vapcap being run over by monster trucks with only a scratch or two to show for it. They are tough as nails.

One of the fun things about a Vapcap is that they are modular, meaning that the components are interchangable , so you can switch out bodies, stems, mouthpieces, condensers and tips for different applications or to create a look of your own. Beyond the stock midsections at the Dynavap site, there are custom aftermarket artists that make unbelievable pieces for your Vapcap. Check them out! These guys offer beautiful functional art.

I laughed way too hard at this. And it is, essentially, true.

And i say essentially because, as long as you live, you probably won't even entertain the notion of parting with your vapcap so you won't include it in your will, which will inevitably lead to much strife and arguments between your heirs...on a second thought i think it would be wise to put it in your will ahahahha

To be honest: Wouldn't it be best to get a good log vape like the eNano AND a Vapcap? You could get the best of both worlds and still spend a fraction of the costs that many other desktop vapes involve.

Ehm. Scratch that. I have just reloaded the tab and saw all the other answers above me that made my post obsolete. One should refresh the browser tabs at least daily! ;)

One more thing
The E nano is AC powered
UD,Hi and Woodsxents are DC powered.

While I'm not a big fan for general use, for a cool vape without water that can can microdose and heats quickly, the Firefly 2 might fit the bill.

Just a dude
The VapCap & eNano is a wonderful pairing. To me, they're on opposite ends of the vape spectrum: eNano is simple to use, dependable, efficient and effective on the convection side. VapCaps have more of a learning curve*, are dependable, efficient and effective on the conduction side. This is literally comparing apples to oranges, it's hard to say which is best for your situation. I've not been vaping long but thanks to FC, I've not made a bad purchase; either way, you are going to be pleased I think. 2 world-class devices!

When I say efficient, both are ridiculously efficient with your herb. I turn on my Nano in the morning and so throughout the day I can choose depending on my mood. Sometimes I employ a proprietary Tag-Team tek I've developed through extensive real-world testing: 2 small Nano stems with a VapCap chaser; I call it the Attitude Adjuster-TM.

*requires a small torch lighter & practice with heating technique. Or induction heater.

I think we have the smallest stem for microdosing but I could be wrong. If you like VapCaps then you might want to checkout the Woodscents like someone else mentioned.

I also thought I saw somewhere that you're in Europe? If so we don't ship to most EU countries so that probably takes UD out of consideration. :2c:

Perhaps contact @Alan , toasty-tops.com. He mentioned having a few glass core heater Bamboo HI logs left when messaging him about roasting tubes. Worth a try anyways..

It's what I have, glass heater , glass stem ; quick/fast , micro , tasty and smooth hits :)
Good luck In your search

When shopping for a log vape that was THE deciding factor for me. Unfortunately we are still lacking in this area in the eu :(

With the added a bonus of having to go to the Customs and explain what the heck that thing was to a couple of elderly lady officers :lmao:

It seems obvious to me that the Woodscents is the way to go. It comes with a Vapcap that mates with the vape...microdose heaven at home and on the road. Right?
If using a vapcap M for example , would it be smoother because it's used with a log then it is by itself or same ?

With log vapes the log
unit is just the heater dressed in a wood outfit of your choice. The material is loaded into a stem that’s usually either wood or glass and may incorporate some kind of metal tip to hold the material. The woodscent was designed to use the vapcap tip to pair with it’s heater so u can just pluck off your cap from the vapcap and use it as a stem for the woodscent log. Hope this helps, I’m not a very good writer.

That's a good question! I haven't done that comparison. I did like the vapcap stems better than the glass ones with the WS. But I can't think of a better microdose solution than the WS - mated with a vapcap stem it's the smallest load I've ever seen.

Chances are @dunwich will get hooked on vapcaps if he gets one, and how cool is it to be able to use them with your log, too!? And since the WS comes with a stem and vapcap tip, you essentially get a beautiful vapcap for free. You guys let me know if I'm mistaken about the WS package, but if I'm not, the OP is deciding between a log or a vapcap when he can have both in one log purchase.
