Upgrading Nails!

So i quit smoking bud for good now. Almost even flowers as a whole, though I use the pax when I want some flowers, but its been all oil for me the past 4-5 weeks. I got a cloud pen to use, which has been great, but its not that same as dabbing (not better or worse). I have a smallish inline bubbler that I got a male to male adapter for and a glass nail and dome. Was only 30 bucks for the adapter nail and dome and I have been able to dab! Love my bubbler. But I want to get a nice 14mm titanium male nail so that I don't have to worry about glass nails breaking or an adapter or dome. Saw some cool nails on amazon, but they're $25-$40, as opposed to 70-150 for a highly educated, or something of reputation and probably better quality. So my question is, is there much really wrong with the cheap ti nails? Is it bad for your health? If so, whats the cheapest 14mm male domeless thats safe?

I would say the cheap Ti nails are probably made in China and are probably not the same quality Ti that is used by American companies. If they are even Ti.

I would recommend the Santa Cruz Shredder Omni at this moment. Followed by the HE Infinity. Both domeless and can be used on any connection commercially available.

That HE looks amazing. Unfortunately I don't have 150 to spend on a piece. Can I get an American ti male domeless for $70? That's my budget. If I can't, I think I'd rather deal with having to use a dome and get an HE flux nail for 45.

I got the Got Vape tornado or whatever while it was on sale. Confirmed it was titanium after heating the shit out of many parts of it and watching it do the titanium rainbow haha.

For your budget - HE DualTi or HE Flux + cheap dome like you mentioned.

the DualTi is very nice however there is more heat transfer to the base when compared to the InfiniTi, DE or Omni

Picked up a nice nail at my lhs for 40. Works for 14 and 18mm set ups. I'll probably just buy an HE Flux next and find a nice dome. Unfortunately my lhs doesn't have any nice domes. I don't mean worked or fancy, but none of them are thick glass. Where can I get a nice, sturdy/thick 14mm dome online under 50?

Is there an advantage to dome vs domeless? I went with domeless for less hassle and less parts to buy. I don't seem to see anything I'm missing besides expensive cool domes to blow my money on haha.

With a dome you can "carb" it and restrict the airflow by placing your palm over the opening of the dome. This is good for low temp dabbing, and for very large dabs that otherwise wouldn't completely vape off the nail.

They now sell carb caps so the people with domeless nails can do this technique. I'm one of those fools who needs to buy a carb cap now :lol:

I saw some nice Big J 14mm domes on the dab lab for $70. Looked like thick glass. If I keep this kind of set up, I'd have to use the male to male adapter, a nail, and dome. Or should I just use that $70 for the HE domeless, which would eliminate the dome. Still would need an adapter. And even if the HE got stuck on the male adapter or broke it, a new male to male is cheaper than a dome.

I'm still a fan of domeless myself, I really don't like nails that go inside the glass joint.

Any reason why? do the ones that go inside the glass joint harm the joint? Also, I take medium dabs, so maybe anywhere from .07-.12 g dabs. So I really don't need to worry about retaining heat. And I don't take dabs where vapor goes out the dome. I make sure I take dabs I can handle and kill in one breath. I'm trying to dab while being discreet and being able to set up and pack up quickly, which is why i wanted a male domeless, but it doesn't seem like it takes that much longer using an adapter. So should I get the Flux and a nice dome? Or just an HE domeless? Like this one--

I'd be careful with any ti male joint nails, if it fits snugly it may crack the joint when it expands with heat. You know your needs better than anyone else, but 99.9% of oil rigs use a male joint.

If you see your glass collection growing at all, I'd personally get a nail that's going to work best with your new pieces.

Yea I just took 2 nice dabs on my new nail. And man it was smooth and tasty hahaha. Much better than my quartz. Also didn't season the new ti, and has a rainbow color where I hit it with the torch. But I agree with the idea of using the adapter male joint. It's not a big deal.

i can get that 14mm male joint nail for 28$ if i wanted. already ordered mine tho. and glass adapters arent cheaper w that nail, i got the 14/18mm domeless for 35$ i didnt want that 1 youre talking about, where its male jointed, ive learned and seen bad things! hah a male joint expands lil by lil when being heated a lot for dabs, and will eventually break whatever glass piece/adapter u have it in.. y i didnt go that way, plus i needed an 18mm
