I've had one of these for a while now, and it's fucking fantastic! If you're in any way inclined to be a tinkerer you'll have a blast with this thing.
It took a minute to get going for me, but that was due to 2 faulty ( or too clever in one case I think) power supplies. Thankfully @highvaper included a 4 bay 18650 battery sled so I could get it going in portable mode. The way he has put this stuff together is really clever. The input power can be unplugged, and replaced with a different source easily, then there is a setting within the software that allows you to tell the board it's running on lipo power so that it doesn't over discharge the cells at all. I've mostly been running mine from a 12v led driver but you could easily run it when camping or similar from the 12v battery in your car which would make an amazing away from home set up.
When it arrived it quickly became my favourite conduction based device. The PID regulation makes it very easy to use and completely repeatable no matter what power supply you're using. You can set a default session temp within the software, and use the knob to adjust temperatures on the fly during a session. You can also configure your own preferred session length if desired, I haven't bothered. The standard set up is for a 420sec session. When there is 60 secs left the bright blue led shivers to adjust you that your running out of time. One click of the knob extends your session a little. I'm sorry i forgot how much time it adds.
I've been mostly using mine in conduction mode with direct stems. I made a couple of ball chamber things to test but haven't tried them yet. There is so much flexibility in this system I don't think I'll exhaust possibilities for a while. @highvaper has shown some of his convection set ups earlier in the thread which I haven't tried yet as I want to put some holes in the outer heater layer for intake as I'd like to avoid drawing over the element, I hear it works exceptionally well though without the holes so I should probably try that first! Putting the agile heater to work on this scenario does make allot of sense.
My one is quite bulky, so I would like to get closer to a log style format if possible... Ideas in the works but very little time to build anything right now.
I've got some shit to do now so I'll have to close off this post here. I do want to say though, if you're at all interested in the BAKx, or just love to tinker, you shouldn't sleep in this. It's pretty powerful and very tasty and it's a welcome addition to my arsenal.
Thanks for your creation @highvaper , you've done an exceptional job with this and I can only see it improving with time.... Case in point the latest addition of wattage mode in the post above!
