yeah bros not good. Got these little ants all over the place with huge antenna. Fast as hell, they grab crumbs and bolt. Friend says I have termites but I can't see any of those. Plus i saw a rat last night while I was vaping so there is a family somewhere. I want them dead, What can I do to get the bugs and rodents out?

Holy shit. Just as a casual observer that would drive me insane. I'd probably move.

In all seriousness, call an exterminator possibly? I live in an apartment building. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

To kill a bug you gotta think like a bug! Different ones need to be treated differently.

Termites are bad news - there's two types and it depends on where you live as to the type. Flying termites are a bitch - you need to tent the house and smoke bomb it to treat for those - super expensive.

If you live in a part of the world which only has walking termites, you're golden - to treat these they simply drill 5 foot deep holes into the ground and inject termite poison into the ground - this creates a barrier around the house for 40-60 years. Cool part is this also kills any active termites in the house because every night they must go back into the soil outside the house, so they'll never make it and eventually die.

Ants are a bit easier to notice - usually ants will travel in a single line back to the colony (they walk using scent trails - dotted scent trails when hunting for food, and a solid line when they find food and take it back to the nest - this tells other ants to follow that trail to the food) - so if you see a long line of ants, try to follow them and see where they're going - place some poison somewhere along the trail for them to feed and take back to the nest. If they are ants the problem resolves itself very fast (they take the poison bait back to the nest and feed it to the queen)

Also for any other creepy crawlies, you can buy that 12 month bug spray ("Ortho home defense" is the brand in America - container comes with a battery powered sprayer!) - go around the outside of your house and inside of your house and spray every corner or crevasse - that'll help keep anything else from getting in.

I've found this product to be the best for ants. Put a piece of paper or a paper plate underneath it since it's liquid and will get on the surface it's set on. Your ants will line up like it's a Sweden House buffet.

As for the rats? Yuck. Perhaps call your city. And if you feed the birds; stop.

they grab crumbs and bolt.

For ants: Clean up the crumbs and their food supply. Find their water source, like a leaky pipe under the house or a clogged AC condensation drain line and fix it.

For rats: same thing but you will need to find the nest imo.

Edit: For carpenter ants or wood destroying organisms: Seek professional help, someone who is licensed , bonded and can guarantee their work. Not saying the home kits don't work, but it puts the liability on them.

most homes have bugs, they been around a while. rats might be getting in via garage or holes in soffits. block holes and cracks using wood filer, silicone or expanding foam where applicable...spray harmful chemicals everywhere (spray, fog, etc) and leave the place for a few hours....do some solid bowls of sativa then clean your entire area (floors, walls, counter tops) and keep it clean. good luck 2.

We live in the country, well kinda country. There used to be less houses than there is now around my neighborhood. We find it works out well to keep a cat around as a pet. He's quite the mouser.

We don't have any rats around that I know of. There have been times where we've used traps. My husband uses peanut butter on the trap.
I can't handle a dead animal of any kind so my husband has to deal with that. It amazes me that mice can climb up on the counter. That really grosses me out. I don't like to use an insecticides unless I can't help it.

I smelled something terrible coming from what I thought was the inside of my oven once. I couldnt get rid of the smell. I contacted the repair person and he came out. He said that he thought a mouse fell behind the back burner of the stove between the back of the oven and insulation and got fried inside. He said I needed a new stove. The smell wouldn't go away. I said what the hell. Pretty gross huh.

I don't come around much anymore but dude. Your threads never cease to amaze me... I didnt see this one coming.

Get a cat (they take care of themselves), traditional mouse traps with peanut butter, fuck those "humane" sticky ones (they'll chew off their own legs to escape the stickiness), follow those ants, stomp the fuck out of their hill, piss on their hill, use poison, silicone their entrance(s) to your house shut, call an exterminator for the termites, enjoy your pest-free life... profit?

Diatomaceous earth for ants. Google it. Sprinkle it where you see the ants. I'd dose the ant homes with insecticide and leave your home for a few hours as well.

I agree with other posters of cats for rats.

Keep it simple and these things will be gone. Don't worry to much slow and steady.

Here's the thing about Dcon..... It's a poison. And other animals can be attracted to it.

My dog got into some Dcon that my husband had put in our shed to get rid of mice and some real pesky red squirrels that were destroying parts of our home. I almost lost him. It took 3 whole blood transfusions and a long regime of vitamin K (and a whole lot of money) to keep him alive.

After watching what it did to my dog, I wouldn't use it on any animal. There are more humane ways to kill and trap. And the risk of someone's pet getting into it are too high. :2c:

For rats try mixing 50/50 cornflour and builders dry cement powder.
Place around your yard in old takeaway trays.make sure your dogs wont eat it.they shouldn't .poison laying around will kill them though.

rats will feed on the cornflour without noticing the cement and then look for water, drink the water and get mighty stoned literally.

You can thank the farmers wife who shared the recipe with me as I stared endlessly at dozens of poisons in the pest section of our local hardware. I never tried it but she assured me it cleared her chicken pen of rats without harming her dogs.in the end we got pest control in for our rat problem and I went to a farmers depot and bought stronger poison to double up dosage. We also got a few traps and added jelly snakes coated in peanut butter which works well.more about that a little further on.I also nailed my poison blocks down so they couldn't be moved by the rats.

One thing though....don't hesitate.spring into action asap .vermin rats, mice cockroaches can multiply with speed.

Saying that,I hate killing things.....so our rat story..Our new human neighbours moved in a few years back renting and decided a chicken coup was a good idea at the rear of their yard backing onto our yard.geez great idea...why would You want to put an animal in a cage and then teach your kids ( two 4 yr old girls)it's a good thing not to mention all the other vermin chickens and their feed attract to your e property.

My opinion on chickens in cages on small city blocks is....there a store that sells eggs nearby... free range, organic, whatever You want its there....buy your eggs there lol...dont get me started on teaching kids to fish lol.

Anyway,Suddenly we had rats in our loft, which in turn would have brought snakes. We played cool and didn't report the tenants to council, even though there coup was illegal, but made a little fuss to their rental agency that we were not happy with our new guests Mr and Mrs Rat.
Thankfully,my neighbours moved out 6 months later to the countryside to live with chickens ,rats & snakes.

We have had no rats since.thank fuck I'm relieved....Being high and seeing rats around your place is unnerving to say the least.it made me feel nauseous and like it was a battle of wits between us and the rats.rats will leave a trail of pheromones into you're property so all future rats will head straight to where the previous rats partied.
In our house that place was right above our bed. Some nights the raucous carried on well into the early hours.

Another time we had paper moths.they were so cute I thought buzzing about in our lounge,so I left them alone until we got infested with the things almost overnight.we bought a UV water trap thing from the local hardware which sorted the issue out over a few evenings.

Damn animal orgies in your house.

Best of luck.

for the ants, you need to get to their queen.
killing the workers you see will just be temporary, since the ants that go outside to scavenge are the older ants, ants that don't have that long to live anymore, so if they would die that wouldn't be as big of a loss to the colony, so they do the risky tasks.

with those multiple pests I would just call an exterminator, but if you want to fix it all yourself, I would get a cat against the rats. that will probably not wipe them out, but the cat will catch one now and then and deter them from roaming freely where the cat can roam too.
