The title says it all. What are your favorite toys? Kayaks, mountain bikes, surfboards etc.
Example: My new dirt Scooter is here

True, but the look on the kids faces when old guy shows up at the skate park and starts throwing down 2 meters over the coping on a skateboard. (I was sponsored in the 80s) is priceless :D

You may remember this

I do indeed... have you seen him?

I used to skate vert in the 80's-90's too. My lad hated it if I took him and his friends to the skatepark
... can I have a go of your board son?

Just been fitting some brand new red 70mm Kryptonics to my deck today (not that it sees a great deal of use in my advancing years)...

Almost there...
I take it all of you guys had rich parents...LOL!
Back in the 80's all my buddy's had rad wooden decks with ball bearing wheels, customizable trucks, wicked graphics it was everything a kid wanted!!
I begged my mom for one, it was just my mom and I and she was and still is the worst skinflint/cheapskate mom i know! Love her but c'mon!!
After a few weeks she gave in and came home with this...

A neon yellow, plastic piece of crap! Made in China, solid plastic wheels with no bell or whistle in sight...
And of course no one would swap decks with me...LMAO!!!

Most of my toys are packed away from the move and will be for a while...
Quadcopters and radio control stuff!

Also just started building these plastic kits, just finished one but still painting...
Called Gundam and it reminds me of Macross and RoboTech.
They come in kit form on runners and you need to clip each piece off and finish it.
It can be quite intricate and the painting is fun!

My stepson loves Gundam. He goes to a local convention every year and some of the models are incredible!

http://thosegundamguys.org/southern-california-gundam-model-competition/

If you look around their site there are pages of winners and pages of techniques that show the detail many put into the things. It is a true hobby.

(Not stepson's. Just an entry.)

Rich... no. In the 70s we lived in the bayous north of New Orleans. My toys were mostly poisonous snakes. That and one baby blue banana seat bike.

Much like this one but not nearly as nice.

Probably crazy collectible now days. No idea where it came from. Dad probably found it in a ditch.
Edit: Just called dad, he found it behind the factory he worked at all busted up. I had to tear it down and fix it before I could ride it. 5th b-day present.

I found the skateboard that got me started in the woods. Bought the second one with money I earned cleaning construction site trash when I was 9. (Child labor laws, hahahahaha)

Mad respect for model building. Seriously detailed

I had the exact same model except mine was gold and had a sissy bar. Mine too was second hand. The handlebars would spin all the way around so I drilled a hole and stuck a nail in to hold them upright.

Can kids even have access to drills that would work on metal these days? I seem to remember asking my dad if I could use his tools and he said "sure". There might have been a make sure you put them back when you're done, but don't recall. Today, he'd probably be investigated for child endangerment if someone found out.

Anything worth doing, is worth overdoing.

Oh dear. You can't say sissy bar anymore. That's insensitive to people who might be uncomfortable to ride on the back of a bike. That might even be considered bullying for those who are offended. In fact bike companies that use such terms open themselves up to boycotts and public outrage on social media. Maybe even lawsuits for punitive damages.

Oh, dear. I suppose "bitch stick" is similarly denied. How about flag holder?

Now I’m confused since sissy is just another word for sister. As in ‘that bar keeps my little sister from falling off the back’.

That’s controversial?

For self-powered, I have a mountain bike, that now sees more road use than off-road use and snow shoes.

On the motorized spectrum, I have 2 motorcycles; a Suzuki 2002 Volusia and a 2008 Burgman (which holds a days worth of shopping).

This means something?

Since there is no context I need more information

Edit: After a bit of research I found that this is about people who are addicted to righteous indignation. Many examples of it throughout history and literature. The nosy judgmental neighbor lady in Ann Of green gables, for example.

Pretty common addiction

Not sure how that is relevant to this thread.

Which gender would you say a sister is?

Is there any thread on here that doesn't devolve into some kind of dig at a group of people you don't belong to or think like? Do we have to antagonize to make points or funny posts around here?

I can't think of what else I'd call that part on a bike other than a sissy bar. I am not offended by that term whatsoever. But can't see the need to antagonize like little kids.

Enough with the gotdamn snarky ass digs around here. Take that shit to Reddit or FB or whatever other social media platform you feel you need to belch his drivel. I was recently away from here due to an illness and now think I should just stay away. Way to fuck up a cool little thread that has nothing to do with politics or social climate!
