Interesting, I had no idea there were variants. Is the only discernible difference those lines?

I notice you say the right hits and heats differently but then kind of walked that back in a subsequent comment.

Mine is the same as on the left. I find it’s a big hitter but with a less stony signature than my Anvil Thermocore. Been using my Anvil a lot more lately as the signature is more effective for an evening/bedtime vape.

It's strange, because when I bought the Tornado, I was expecting a very stony signature.
According to what people were saying here, or on other networks.
But that's really not the case
It's a great signature and one that I love! But I would describe it as very mental.
I don't feel a marked body high with the Tornado
Maybe I should try the Anvil Thermocore to see the difference for myself.
But I already have another very effective vape for a very stony signature.

Mine is from the September 2024 drop and looks like the one on the left.

I can’t say I’ve noticed a huge difference in signature between the Tornado and Anvil. They are both stony to me. I definitely prefer the Tornado though.

They always go so quick. The guy who originally posted that they were in stock, said they only had 13 left by the time he posted. Not sure how many they started with.

There’s just something to that Anvil signature isn’t there? Especially with the XL bowl. I’d never say one is better than the other because again, subjectivity. However, I still think the Tornado’s biggest achievement is the smoothness and flavour relative to the Anvil, and not an increased potency.

I found the Anvil to be a lot more stoney than thr Tornado. The Tornado feels hybrid. Like a convection sig that somehow gets into your muscles as well. It has the body sedating effects, but it doesn't stone me. Doesn't slow my pulse massively and give me heavy eyelids, and empty static mind, which I associate with a stoney signature.

The Tornado sig I find quite unique. Anvil is better for getting stoned though.

It sounds like your wand depth is the same as mine. I use a single flame torch to heat the 'vestratto' for 15-20 seconds then I put it in the wand until a few seconds after I first see vapor. I get perfect results every time.

So I think I have ran 3-4 bowls through the tornado since I read everyone suggesting the torch. It’s weird as I am not a torch person, I didn’t like my dynas until I got a wand.

First try with the torch was a dud. Pretty sure I heated too low on the chamber, which caused combustion, required a full cleaning etc.

Next 2 or 3 I heated more towards the middle or top nowhere near the intake holes toward the bottom. Finally think I have it figured out, and it rips through a dry bong. Took about 2 big pulls then when vapor was gone I threw the torch back to it until I saw a little vapor. Then it was like a freight train. I think I pulled 3 more massive rips through my small dry bong. I mean like bigger than my hyper or anything I can get from a TM2. I still don’t think it’s as tasty as a fresh dyna or TM2 but definitely rips with a torch. This is mainly why I bought it, as my tolerance has been increasing and wanted something else with a bigger bowl that wasn’t a ball vape.

Maybe tonight I’ll try the wombo combo torch/wand (somebody may get this reference).

A little update, now that I use a little cork disk as adapter and place the Tornado slightly horizontal into the Wand the first and second clicks are finally appearing. Before I held it vertically to the inner glass lining and it would only click when the load was already fully combusted. For reheating I simply remove the cork and heat until the first wisps of vapor are visible. Usually this works decently for a light brown AVB.
Hopefully with a torch getting darker AVB will be easier so I will try that next.

Gladly, PrematureEvaporation's ongoing guide in the Tornado heating thread offered some hints. 15 seconds on the atomizer and switching to the top of the oven itself until the first click seems to be my sweet spot for now.

Loving the device on my chill pipe. With its smooth vapor, the Tornado can absolutely be used natively, too. Those new wooden heat shields almost make me buy another one for on the go.

I am wondering how it hits back to back? Is the cool down long for the click to start a new bowl?

Saw this and wanted to comment but, life got in the way. I have one of those XL rolling trays that’s about 13”x11” and use a mad heater magnet. It’s a little thicker and larger in diameter. Set that magnet in the ledge of the tray. After puffin on the tornado I’ll dump the chamber, put it aside, lay the tornado on its side on the magnet.

That large metal tray and magnet just pulls the heat right out of the tornado. Prob under a min but I’ve never timed it. After getting over the initial tornado smack and packing another chamber the nado is ready to rip again.

My 420 bundle came today and i'm impressed by the stash, i already love it without the middle part (pic2) for outdoor use (not so heavy). Quality is very good, the magnet is nice and functional, the spike is removable. Emptying with the debowler is set to mm.
there was no spiral in the XLmouthpiece, do you think this is normal?

Good chat with John and Sneaky Pete a day ago.

Summary of some of the more interesting bits for those who don’t want to watch it all -

He considers development on the Anvil and its ecosystem more or less done now. Spoke of a concentrate bowl some time this year and maybe a cold start bowl to sign off with. Still planning to keep it around and feels the Tornado and Anvil are complementary products. Spoke about the development of the oven revisions and shared some interesting information about the process. Seems the Thermocore was designed with the XL bowl in mind more than regular bowl.

Spoke about the cold start bowl for Tornado and showed a prototype - going to be threadless and magnetic. No more thermal locks! Made with Forge usage in mind. Sees Tornado as a desktop competitor in portable form factor. Spoke about the atomiser again, and how they took inspiration from medical nebulisers to show it’s a valid concept. Sounds like the Tornado is a sort of watered down portable version of the Sublimator tribute they made and have mentioned before. Mentioned the stem, says they didn’t expect anyone to use it with a stem and sort of played catchup upon realising that wasn’t the case. He’s seen us hacking up Anvil stems and said don’t do it

Spoke about the Forge. Currently planning to keep things small so they can keep making tweaks as issues arise and get replacements out. Sounds a bit like a paid open beta the way he worded it. So probably won’t be seeing it in domestic retailers for a while yet. He said there may be a tweak in future to make it less whiny, says they didn’t know about it as they’re old dudes who can’t pick up on the noise like youngsters Still feels cold starts and generally moving past the click is the direction they’re looking to inch toward, with the Forge at the centre of achieving that vision.

Was asked about an electric portable vape - thinks there’s already options on the market doing a great job of what they’d want to do, so isn’t something they’d necessarily consider.

Mine also only came with one spiral filter, kind of annoying. The stash is awesome though! I suggested adding grinder plates and John actually got back to me and said he was going to do some drawings.

A removable grinder mechanism would make that an instant buy for me, what a great idea. The unit is already wide enough that they could make it a pretty decent grinder if it mounts on the threads.

Love minimalist stuff so this idea really appeals to me! Fingers crossed

But concerned because I can barely 1HE a full tornado bowl on my orb. The full stainless (not sure what color that heat shield is listed as?) stem looks great. But is it functional?

I think the stem Vestratto is offering is to small. Needs to be bigger condenser and maybe a airport to control the vapor. Been waiting on folks that have the TSWooden stem to comment more.
