Tornado by Vestratto

With recent performance variances reported, may I poll which version of the Tornado you own? Left or right?

Left is drop #1 (original 420/Forge order) and right was acquired after 3-4 drops.

You notice the top rings are different and also the coloring from heating is reversed from top to bottom.

Both are huge heavy hitters, but I must say that the right one hits much harder and heats differently then the drop #1 T.

Mine looks like the one on the left, with the single ring at the top. It was bought from Sneaky Pete about a month or two ago, whenever their last drop was.

Curious if there’s any actual differences. I haven’t heard of any revisions.

Most of the pics I’ve seen posted look like the one on the left also. Small batches and little differences (not saying anything bad here)

This is my first and only tornado, acquired in the most recent drop:

don't mind the color, when i first got it i was trying to heat more the holes and the thing got so hot that the scruffy stand was too hot to touch lol

The one on the left looks like the heat is dispersing properly everywhere but the bowl.

If the new users complaining of poor effects have a device that looks like the left one, then I guess manufacturing process changes could be to blame.

I've had the tornado about 3 days. I am not a huge consumer mainly 1-2 bowls at night time to relax and help with sleep. Last night I ran the nado then had my Hyper on a bb6 ran them both through a small dry bong for comparison. I have to say I am not terribly impressed either, at least initial impressions. Taste was not as good and not as large of clouds either.

Pretty sure it is a technique problem, I have only ran 3-4 bowls as well. Just using the wand, as that is what I have preferred with DV's which are my only butane vapes. For torches I have small single flames or the harbor freight micro torch. I think I read on here many years ago that's like a big shot knock off, at least that is why I bought it. Can someone link me to a video or post showing heating technique with a similar torch? Or am I just putting the nado in the wand too deep? Going to almost the intake holes on the nado, as I think I saw pictures of that on here or reddit a week or two ago.

It sounds like your wand depth is the same as mine. I use a single flame torch to heat the 'vestratto' for 15-20 seconds then I put it in the wand until a few seconds after I first see vapor. I get perfect results every time.

Mine was from the Feb preorder delivered a few weeks ago. It appears to be like the one on the left of that photo.

@Cheebsy Just noticed you said you tried with the torch. My bad. I can only recomend a bigger flame, hit the atomiser for first 10 seconds. Then aim halfway up the bowl. This always gives me excellent effects.
Thanks for following up buddy, I'll try that.

I got my full rig on Monday from the 420 drop and it’s the same as the left.

Extremely fast shipping, no extra charge for the 420 green, whiff10 and free shipping worked. Yay for me

The plastic sealed bag that my tornado came in had the corner cut open and obviously re sealed which is weird. My heat shield also had some deep scratches on it out of the package. Maybe they swapped me for a blemished shield since they goofed on charging me the extra $10. Idk

As far as performance goes… I’m impressed

This is the only device that keeps up with my favorite vape the Terpcicle. Endless clouds and a unique less harsh vapor which I really appreciate

I’m a wand noob, I’ve only had it a week or so before I got the tornado and it’s all I’ve used with it so far. Mines from dv and it only fits through the back.

I’m honeymooning with bad technique (I just need more practice) and I’m still very happy with my purchase

I can see this being a permanent kit contender

Have you tried weighing each head sans chamber?

I ordered mine a few days after 4/20 last year, and it looks like the left one, except my patina gradient is more like the one on the right.

is that a purpleheart heat shield? i never paid attention to the anvil ecosystem before getting a tornado.i have a half rig on the way but with a purple heatshield since that was what was in stock. i've been looking for a wood heatshield in some fancier woods like ph or burlwoods etc. i'd also trade my incoming purple heatshield for silver if anyone is interested!

Yeah that’s an old Simrell anvil ph heat shield.

I’m currently working with the member SleepyGhost (on the ent exchange discord) on some really fun wooden heat shield options for the tornado/anvil and some other cool ideas.

You can reach out to him for custom wood goodies on there or Etsy.

Were these both heated with torch or wand?
