Tornado by Vestratto

I had a nice hit yesteday using the wand : 6 flash 320°C, after 10s wait, this cycle many time until the first click. A little bite long, but thick and tasty vap. The perfect spot for me. I tryed another bowl later, and after too many cycles of heat without clikc. I noticed that the wand did'nt heat the tornado. There was the flash light, but the level of the battery did'nt changed. That was strange. I had sometime the error 01 but not that. I tested the wand with the tempest insert with the tempest, and It was working.
It was not my day, because after, I tryed to use my ronxs torch and this beach had an inconstant flame (I refilled it the day after ; maybe air inside) and I had to switch to a prince pocket torch to finish my bowl :bang:

I'll probably eventually pick up a wooden stem somewhere as well. I saw a really nice one from @Duba that I think was glass-lined.
I highly recommend @Aezhenn work and his 11mm od glass-lined wooden stems. Excellent, stress-free draw and effective cooling! Mine is a part of a modulate pipe.

That one's really nice too! All of @Aezhenn's work is out of stock at VGoodiez. Is there another way to order outside of Europe?
The best way to order is to contact him directly here: @Aezhenn

This French store (Vapeurshop) has some stock but I think it's the only one in the world really. Contacting the shop before ordering can be interesting imo (to make sure they have what you want in stock).

Had the sweetest wake'n'bake this morning with the 'Nado. I had been exclusively hitting it on a dry j-hook but today I tried it through water and it didn't disappoint. I was concerned by something I'd read about water possibly undoing some of the magic of the second stage that makes the vapor so smooth but nah, - the vapor was still smooth and tasted great.

I'm gushing over this thing. It's been nothing but good experiences from the jump.

That's how I feel. I'm sorta reluctant to express the obvious because I think the Anvil is a real achievement, but...I really like the Tornado's vapor.

I think all that matters is the question of "is the hit smooth enough for you?" If you are getting the hit you want with big glass then why not.

For me the second stage atomiser will just allow the device to be used on small glass pieces and stems, when you normally would not be able to considering the bowl size. You will still get the benefit of the atomiser when you are maybe using outdoors on a stem for example.

I personally always prefer smaller dry pieces.

Yeah, it's so productive that I think many people will be inclined in this direction.

Great insight.

I do with this as well. Despite its power the dry experience is really, really good.

Yep. Same. The taste and intensity is usually better dry and that's why I had used it on a dry hook for so long. I just wanted to test the waters so to speak 😝

Yeah, that's why I'm excited to have it on a stem soon. I imagine the vapor will be so thick and yet possibly smooth enough for big draws. It's the reason behind why I'm willing to try a straight bore 9mm stem for the first go. I want to preserve all that great flavor.

I'm also a big fan of puffing while heating. I've yet to try this though but I remember that @Roffa suggested it too.

Oh, right--I'm gonna have to go back and reread that, it sounded like a fun idea. Let us know how your experiments go!

Just picked up this combo (BFG long rosewood with titanium insert and drip tip) to use with the stem adapters on the way from @ScruffyWoofers. It'll be the classy style to try vs. the futuristic carbon fiber stem setup I thought of earlier.

Now if only the Canada Post mail strike would end. It's been 2 weeks ☹️.

Those Dani stems are such an affordable way to get a nice handmade wooden stem for the Tornado. For those who don’t know, the stems also take 510 drip tip mouthpieces if you’re not a fan of the standard Dani one.

Oh that's too bad... although since each flash takes about 1 sec, you can pretty much use a timer and count seconds instead. 8 flashes = 8 seconds.

Well, I can get to a complete roast but it's takes me about 4 re-heats with a full bowl. I've posted pics earlier. Each re-heat only takes 8 seconds.
Are you looking for a one-and-done experience?
Yeah, one and done for now just so I can at least get one full bowl done. Vestratto going radio silence about me only getting only one click is extremely frustrating, if anyone's gonna be able to give me insight on how to deal with that, it's them. There's some videos I've seen here since your comment, I'll give it a shot and see what's what.

The Tornado + Wand in action, Video speed = 2X :

I'm assuming to timeout, what temp you have it running at?

Credit goes to you @PrematureEvaporation. I think it was you that was mentioning it somewhere in the thread earlier. Thanks!

Happy Monday folks, another tornado rolled through my house this weekend🌪️

Love the video and love the song even more!

Mac’s music always hit different as I was a similar age to him and related to a lot of his feelings. I still spin Faces from start to finish a few times a year, one of my favourite mixtapes ever.

No problem! Hope you enjoy it when it arrives

Love all of his work, so much so I have it all on vinyl lol. That track is off an album made around the faces era that was shelved for faces and some songs made it from there to faces, but the rest is being released in Jan 2025... cant wait

All of this stem talk has got me wanting to rip my Nado' native, might have to pull the trigger on the dani stems ive been eyeing on soothing vapours, but also I still hold hope for that "Tornado stem" that may be included with the Forge repair program.

But I love ripping it through dry glass, so tasty and sooooo smooth, my lungs are so thankful because it really has reduced my coughing while getting medicated. I really hope John looks to get medical certification for the device once he nails the Forge design, if insurance can cover the cost I can see this helping tons and tons of patients around the world.

Must be diff variations of the wand. Mine will not drop thru the top.
I've heard that the Wand glass has QC issues with sizing, so sounds like you got unlucky, maybe try your odds at getting a new one under warranty if you bought recently?

I believe it should be the same size opening on both ends of the glass

Thanks for the idea. I bought one of the first ones when they came out to use for concentrates which I did not use it long for that but was happy it worked on DV. May order a second one as they go on sale so often. It's amazing how well the Wand works with the Tornado.
