The Ti Power DXL710 is a badass nail and sells really well. Just make sure you torch it moreso from the top rather than the sides just so you get the cup hot. Ti Power is definitely one of the more underrated Ti companies out there that's putting out some pretty nice stuff.

Been looking at the he carb cap and he infinity domeless ti nail , they are pretty expensive can someone recommend a cheaper alternative I'm in uk normally use aqualab but shipping is expensive too

The titanowl stuff look like it's made in China. Unknown/probably not Gr. 2. Don't know any sources in the UK, but if you can order from the US, these are the cheapest documented Gr. 2 nails I've found:

BTW, X ray won't tell you anything about a metal alloy, or grade.

To check for cracks you can do a dye penetrant X ray, that's probably what you are talking about, but that won't tell you anything about the alloy or grade.
Even with very sophisticated equipment it is very hard to tell a grade of titanium from the other on the first 4 grades (CP) due to the small differences between them.

What is the verdict on the Ti nails from china? I almost pulled the trigger on a nail from a company called Titen that is based in LA but nowhere on their page does it state where the nails are made. they don't seem to be US nails or I think they would say. I'm probably going to go with a ceramic or quartz nail and save up a little dough and get a HE nail. Thoughts?

It's my understanding that you can bring (unused) titanium into recycling centers and that they can somehow test for purity in the metal. I've never tried it but I've been recently considering getting one and doing just that... I've also heard that "grade 2" is not actually that legit of a qualifier for safety. It seems like there's a range of grades with a range of uses, and any grade could still have impurities in it if made poorly. Apparently that's what they test for at the recycling centers.
This is all just grapevine stuff though... Can anyone with more knowledge on the subject validate or correct anything I just said?

Stay away from grade 5 since it has 6% Aluminum and 4% Vanadium, the pures have none of it.

Grade 2 is also called A45, grade 3 A55, and grade 4 A70.
The impurities in all the pure grades are safe gasses like oxygen, hydrogen and nitrogen, and elements like carbon and Iron.
Any large recycling center will have hand held equipment to check its purity, they may not be able to tell you the grade between 1-4, but that is ok because they are all safe, but they will know if you have grade 5 right away.

No, they won't think you are insane, people around here who work at the recycling centers are really cool.
If you feel like you will be wasting their time, just take some cans, or plastic bottles to recycle and they'll do that for free no problem. You'll go home with cash in your pocket and an answer to your question.
Edit: it has to be a large recycling center that handles all types of industrial recycling materials.

I purchased the Titen 20mm enail a while back. It's awesome and functions great. For the price it can't be beat IMO.
Their Ti is made in Russia with high quality grade 2 titanium. Mike (the owner of Titen) is a really cool guy. Shoot him and email if you have any questions!
I ended up buying mine based off this blog post from 420Titanium. I have purchased a lot of things from 420Titanium and I trust their judgment on the titanium they sell. If you look at their product line up they only sell well known brands that use high quality grade 2 titanium, so I don't know why they would sell Titen products if they weren't up to standard with the other brands.

Perhaps I'm only paranoid but many of the made in China dabbing products that have hit the market recently scare the shit out of me.
Is there a titanium nail that stands out from the rest based on overall quality? What is the best?
Has anyone found a way to limit the amount of oxidation on their nail?
Is there a widely agreed upon method of cleaning titanium?

Imho the best titanium nail is actually to ditch titanium for the new silicon carbide nails. I can't think of a single thing titanium does better and they are priced similarly and it seems objectively better in every aspect.
Personally since I got mine I can't imagine using anything else really.

I use a Ti banger but with a Quartz, (soon to be SiC) Insert. I like the durability of Ti but I like to dab on something that tastes cleaner. I suggest the Liger Banger. Quartz insert available now and a SiC insert coming soon that will be the TITS!
