Thinking of buying a volcano

Its $539.00 for a easy valve classic. I have had a DBV for 2 years. I love it, but it gets annoying having to hit it from the whip. I think that having a bag will be more easy. What are the biggest differences i will find? Will the vape taste any better? Is it worth the money?

That's tough to answer as many folks love the Volcano and it's a quality piece BUT there are now many quality vaporizers out there, each with strengths and weaknesses.
For me, the bag system was too much of a hassle and the Volcano advantage would be vaping for a group. Mine will all be 1 or 2 persons.
Will it taste better? IMO, cooler but not better than from a quality convection (hot air heats the herbs) unit. I wanted the shortest vape path for true taste and minimal condensing where some condenses on the Volcano bag.
You may want to browse the section where there is a thread on each vaporizer, which is great information.
I went with the miniVAP, expensive but super high quality. IMO best features of portables and desktops combined BUT not super stealthy/ fit in pocket size--which didn't matter to me.
You could aslo see youtube (I think) where Vape Feind (I think) does some very interesting video reviews , while disguised in a ski mask

My other top two possibilities were Arizer Solo and Firefly.

I have seen videos of the bag process and it seems alot easier for me to just fill it up once and hold the bag vs hit, pull out, mix, repeat. It is very expensive but its not as pricey as it used to be. How long will one bag of vape last before it goes bad or disappear?

Some volcano experts may reply but I've heard of bags sittings for hours and then hitting them.
Again, just my opinion--I'd prefer my vape fresh, not sitting in a plastic bag for hours. (or several minutes)
Many of the top units . you just load, and hit, hit, hit , with no need to open and mix if you've ground it
properly.
Again, Volcano is top quality and a lot is personal preference so if you think you'd like that "procedure" , then go for it.
I do see many used Volcanos for sale on craigslist, usually many on Denver CL at pretty attractive prices so if you tried and didn't like, you could sell for close to what you paid....

For me, I've found that the vapor begins to go stale and starts to degrade in taste after about 10 minutes. With your DBV, you were getting a fresh hit with every inhale. Not so with the 'Cano, but you are correct in saying that for a totally laid back session with very little effort on your part. Vapes that use a bag as a delivery system are about as simple as it gets. No need to worry about stirring, draw speed, breakable glass wands, etc. What you give up though is taste and efficiency. All depends on your priorities.

Yeah, I know. As soon as the vapor enters the bag, it begins to condense and go stale. But again, it all depends on how acute your sense of taste and smell is. For many, they can leave a bag for 20 or more minutes and not notice a difference. Not me though.

Two other vapes that do bags to consider. One more expensive than the 'Cano.....the Herbalizer. One less expensive than the 'Cano.........the HerbalAire.

I would recommend the herbalAire if you want to fill bags. It's been around for years, great company svc., very durable, and it'll do direct draw as well. You can pick one up on eBay for as little as $140 and still get manuf. warranty coverage. I used one for years- always worked great with bags. It's also much cheaper to have multiple bags on hand-different sized bags is a real plus IMO.

The Volcano's an excellent vape, but don't get sucked into the 'newbie buy'. So many people hear the buzz reviews- 'the Volcano is the best!'. The truth is that the 'cano is riding a very good but very outdated rep. The vape industry has had about 15 years to catch up and believe me, it has.

The volcano was the first vape I ever tried and I really liked the bag system. I couldn't afford a volcano so I went for an arizer extreme q, which I enjoy just as much.

I'm not a fan of bagged vapor either but if I was looking for a bag vape I'd consider the Herbalaire over the Volcano... the Volcano is kind of a one trick pony whereas the HA gives you options. Even the Extreme Q would be one to consider. The Volcano works well but it leaves you with only one option = bags.

love my volcano you can find ones lower in price check ebay say around 300 for used they last forever so no worries.

btw yes you can use a whip with the volcano there the globe and others that fits to use a whip

Consistent and long vape time, great for getting a handful of people medicated at once, and same guts as the Volcano at 1/2 the cost. I prefer it over bags when I want to session.

Hitting diluted vapor that's produced for a bag, with a whip, doesn't come anywhere close to true direct draw. It also adds cost (unless it's a DIY setup) to the point where you could have bought a real direct draw vape.

But the Plenty is not your traditional Whip. It is less than 12 inches, is rigid, and has far better cooling properties than a traditional whip.

Not if you attach a longer piece of tubing. The point is, you should respond to the OP's request, not just promote the vape you like, and he's asking specific bag questions, not suggestions for another direct draw model.

I not only remember it, I have one, and it works great. From the info I got from the manufacturer, I gather that the company's problem was financial. The Oracle was expensive, and they probably started on the mark II design prematurely. Either the market wasn't ready for the Oracle, or Oracle wasn't ready, willing, or able to wait for the market to find the product and accept it. Starting too soon on the 'upgrade' may have also been a/the cause of their demise. A good example that it takes more than a good product.

In terms of durability, yes i think they are worth the $. Mine has been going strong since 2002. I really don't use it anymore because i think there are much better vapes now as far as taste and herb savings go. Others have mentioned different bag vapes for you , i don't have any experience with those, so i can't comment on them, but if i was just getting a Vape now, i wouldn't buy a Volcano 12 years ago, Volcanos were the way to go

It is not necessary to use the whip with The Plenty at all. It can easily be attached to a variety of water tools. The OP may like to try The Plenty as an alternative to bags and the whip he/she is using with the SSV. The standard whip with the Plenty is quite unique imo and may offer the variety and use of ease they desire.

I can convert any number of whip models to use with water. It doesn't change the fact that the post is not responding to the OP's question.
