These are some of the stuff being developed by reddit users including dabbercrombie who machines them. The photo below is a Digiflavor DROP Solo RDA with a macor cup, and an avs coil which i really want i just gotta wait till payday.

He does not make the avs molecules he made what replaces the glass cup with macor that helps prevent oil from getting into the posts.

I know as a knife fiend i like the clip! Im gonna tap into my savings and get the DROPKICK since i already have a solo on the way already.


@invertedisdead i believe you had some Macor ideas right?

@Grifo I saw a pic of the 10mm glass cup from AVS inside of the solo as another method. The cups being quartz might be factor in taste. I am really wanting the cup with the 4mm pearl he was working on.

i saw that too its crazy seeing that reddit page blow up with ideas the last couple months. I just placed my order for a drop kick ill give that a try first. Then ill try the quartz cup. And that cup with the 4mm pearl looks great for coil less

I would like to have a 22mm macor bowl for the FP, although I’m not sure exactly why LOL. Other than @invertedisdead getting in my head about this new material with lots of potential. But I would grab one or two for sure and it sure seemed like there were lotsa interested parties until the whole idea was shit-canned. I don’t think NV would mind, it’s just like the alternate sources for a glass bowl for the FP.

I think the only thing that could potentially rip my quartz banger out of my hands is a Macor slim nail + SiC dish + Macor carb cap with angled hole. I'm assuming the cost would be fairly high, but the time I'd save with maintenance seems like it could be worthwhile.

As far as I remember there were safety concerns brought up with regards to the Fluorine content.

Also 1000 C means you cannot torch it . Isnt an Aluminum ceramics (AlO3) a better choice ?After all it it is used in Cookware and dental fixtures/implants and many other fields. It also can be glazed for smooth surface. Another great choice is Ceramic Zirconia,there are already vapes that use it .

Definitely not flame proof so I Will never put it in anything that would see more than 800F (try to run a factor of safety of 2) so macor is pretty much limited to 510 connections.

Unless someone really messes up their Temp control or run at insane wattages, we will hopefully never see 1600F.

Post fired alumina is the next step. We are also likely pouring SiC into molds we machine, then grinding the “bottoms” flat.

Sheet SIC is insanely expensive, but cast SiC is dirt cheap.

CHeck out cotronics and see if anything stands out. The alumina is high kappa too, so that’s a plus. Just worried about a second step with kiln firing, but nothing ever happens without progress.

My only cool knife is a Tom Krein ultimate caper, the rest are spydercos and benchmades but i love PDW and i know i know TAD. Thats really cool though!
