-The smell is comparable to any convection vaporizer.
-The "filter" is an array of CNC'd through holes, much like the base of the bowl.
-The shipping is discreet, no labeling on the outside of the box.
-Any 3v 123 cell that conforms to the size standard will work, albeit probably not as good as the tenergy's.

i forsee getting plenty of trichs and little pieces of herb in my mouth and throat, hopefully this isnt the case

Thanks for the clarification. So I'm still thinking the seven holes are too big perhaps. Based on the manual drawings, they're the same size as the 21 in the lower screen which looked large enough to be of concern in the photos. How big are those holes, look to be maybe .050? Time will tell, for sure 'one to watch'.

As far as my question about using 123 primary cells rather than the supplied ones (technically 123R secondary cells) the answer is confusing still. Any of the major makers 123 cells easily outperform the best 123Rs out there in the critical areas.....which is why Surefire depends on 'em. Again, soon objective folks will be testing and reporting I'm sure.

Yup, SFG, yer not alone in that. For sure debris collects in the bags on my HA having made it past doubled up screens with much finer mesh than those holes look to be. Hopefully this can be addressed without adding too much restriction if this does turn out to be an issue with some of our 'more sensitive' brothers and sisters?

ThermoVape, Very nice design and execution; strong work!!!

I have been dreaming of an Omnicron sized vaporizer for flowers since I started vaporizing five or so years ago; While the thermovape is slightly larger than the Omni, it appears just as portable.

couple questions for ThermoVape or anyone in the know:
-I have been following this thread with great interest, but I don't recall seeing any mention as to the size of the bowl and how much herb would be an ideal dose? 1/2gram?
- Does the ThermoVape require a stir between pulls, or does the airflow naturally mix the material in use?
-What diameter is the mouthpiece? Will the mouthpiece drop into a 14mm or 18mm ground joint and seal?

- How long can the 123 cells run continuously in a safe manner?
-Does the ThermoVape have an automatic cut-off after a certain number of seconds on time?

I love the durability testing and videos; funny and helpful! I am very tempted to click the "buy now" button. My worry is that this vaporizer may be a perfect portable; but not the Battery powered Cloud I am looking for...

This thread has definitely caught my eye! I have to say though this looks very much like an ecig that's already on the market. only differences i can see are, yours is covered in derlin and sporting a beefed up heating element instead of a 510 connection. Is thermovape some kind of a branch of company from this one?

Well if you chech some site like madeinchina.com or alibaba.com you will see numerous chinese e-cig models looking just like TV and some just like the Omicron..
Similarity in outer looks doesn't prove similarity on the internals..

Heavy use is a pretty broad term, to some that could mean 10 tokes a day, to some 50. So Thermovape guy, what would the estimated lifetime of the heater core be if you vaped say 3 bowls a day assuming the 8 or so hits that the website claims?

The heavy daily use should NOT wear the core out. We use a proprietary USA made wire (we make our coils, ourselves by hand) that is much stronger then nichrome, and there are plug in desktop units that use nichrome for heating, and last for a very long time.

What will wear the core out is abuse more then use. So if you put anything other then flowers into the Thermovape, (i.e. that is why we are making a separate unit made for oils and concentrates) then that could leak down into the core and shorten functional life.

If you use harsh chemicals or solvents to clean the core (we recommend boiling) that could reduce functional life.

If you use other types of batteries other then the 3.2V LiFePO then that may/may not reduce functional life.

If you blow compressed air on to the coil while it is hot, that will reduce life.

If you pour/douse/submerge the core (while it is hot) with water then that will reduce the functional life.

If you just run the device flat out, without actually drawing air through it, over and over, this may reduce functional life (the air flow through the device cools the coils and reduces thermal stress on the core).

Bottom line is that the core is very durable, we made it as tough as we possibly could. It is a solder free system, we use no cheap or weak connections, the wire is as tough as they come for this application, and we assemble each one by hand and test them, each and every one, before they go out the door. This makes for a tough, durable, long lasting vaporizer. I mean we push the limits when we test the device, you may have seen our videos (Your link text), and the device keeps working.

We could have easily made a heating core that we new would fail in 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, etc. What we built is the toughest heating core we possibly could, period. The early ThermoVape's we gave to the beta testers (and we told them to try and break them) are all still running strong.

The ThermoVape should stand up to heavy use, it is made for heavy use, it loves it.

If you just took 24 hits per day, and never abused the device. I do not think it would need to be replaced for years. The batteries would be the first to go, and the sell for around $10 a pair.
