The staff here is generally pretty good at weeding out the shills. Believe it or not I've been called a shill for a product before despite suggesting many other products. Its a tough job but the staff does a good job.
Boy, I sure agree with you there. I don't know about other cases, but that time they were aces for sure. Very impressive, a good environment to exchange information in for sure.
I'm wondering if you have a dud OF, mine stands up on it's own, no problem, unplugged. The weight of the unit presses the connector into the sleeve, just enough for it to stand up. Not sure why yours won't...
Mine will sometimes, but with the (light) SV batteries and the (light) Revolution it's 'rocky' and easy to tip over. Right now I've got about 2 inches of 100 pound test fishing leader (about .040 inches in diameter) in the bottom of the tube and all sins have been forgiven. Next time at the hardware store I'm looking for a thinner o-ring than I have handy (.063 inches) which is a bit too thick. I'm also thinking of switching to a right angle connector and making some sort of stand for it. Sometime.
Continuing EDIT: I found longer on the heatup time, inhale for a bit then back off for just a second, and then repeat until bubbler is almost if not exactly as milked as my Underdog does at 12v. Nowhere near 13.5v...yet. Not bad for bowl 2 eh?
Go DR, go! You're just the right guy to shake it out. To say you can be demanding of your gear is a tall understatement IMO. "Give 'em hell, Harry!".
Hey guys,
I have a 3 day old T1 that suddenly stopped working. It was working fine the first 2 days for multiple bowls and on the 3rd day it does not heat up at all. I'm sure it's not user error as there's not much to it and it was working fine previously. There's no damage to anything and I'm using the original/included batteries/charger. I unscrewed the heating core (after it stopped working) to take a look and everything appears fine. I plan on going back to the store I purchased it at when I have time, but until then does anyone have any suggestions on troubleshooting?
Dollars to doughnuts it's the switch. A common problem early on. Screw the core in well, take the top off, remove the switch (pull it straight down) and the o-ring that holds it in the bore above. Then put the ring back first, reverse the switch to use the big end to push the ring to the bottom of the bore squarely, remove, invert and put the switch back in the right way. Screw the top back, should be good.
There are two heater elements in the core, the chances both blew at the same instant are in the same league as finding honest politicians. I won't say it can't happen, just nobody's ever seen it......
Likewise, two sets of bad batteries doesn't happen in the real world.
HTH.
