I'm also in the process of going the ecig route to quit smoking and am taking a serious look at the RES system.

Do you use the LV or SV power supply? Do you happen to know what the difference in battery life is b/w the LV and SV on the AVA?

I run standard voltage (SV) atomizers on 6v, using the stock tenergy rcr123a batteries. It hits stupid hard, but that's how I like it. I believe TV actually recommends running HR atomizers at 6v, which I do use sometimes but I just prefer the punch of SV @ 6v. I've never used lower voltage batteries with it, but I would imagine a 3.7v setup with a LR atty would be a really nice setup.

Honestly it just depends on what equipment you have already, it made more sense for me to run my ecig at 6v since I already had everything else 6v from my T1. If you're starting fresh, a LV vape/ecig setup does have its advantages too though. Id type more but I'm at work, hope I helped.

Hmm.. I'm not sure if I can give you an accurate answer on that one. I never really have counted my inhales or anything. Plus, when I use my RES it's usually after a T1 session, so I end up using the same set of batteries (or more recently, the TV Power Supply). I am sure there is an "official estimate" of sorts for how many hits to expect from a set of batteries, I'm just not sure what that answer is. If someone from ThermoVape doesn't chime in here to answer it, I wouldn't hesitate to send them an email and ask. They're pretty cool dudes

Well, even though they are called LV,SV etc., the atomizers are actually not given a voltage rating, they are given a resistance rating in Ohms. The voltage people talk about running their ecigs at has to do with your battery choice. The way it works is you match your atomizer resistance to your battery voltage.

For example, I have a 6v battery setup. I can run HR atomizers, or SR atomizers because they have enough internal resistance and can take the voltage of my batteries without burning up. But if I was to put a LR atomizer on 6v, it would be fried very quickly

I am trying to find a link for you that really helped me when I started in on ecigs. I know how confusing all of these ratings and numbers can be, and trying to figure out what will work with what.

Nope, the RES system works the same with all atomizers, even non AVA ones if you want.

The LR and HR will both run at about 10watts at their voltage range, (LR being 3.7V and HR being 6.0V) so they will consume about the same amount of power from your battery. The difference however is the types of batteries you can use, many of the single cell 3.7 batteries have a higher Mah rating therefore will last longer on a charge.

The Res will work with any AVA atty, it will also work with most standard 510 attys too.

The Dart Tip will work in our "510" AVA's, if you have one of the shouldered attys the Dart wont fit in it.... BUT! if you really want a DART loader for your AVA i have some smaller ones that will fit in an shouldered AVA. Just make a note in your order you want "smaller DART loader' .

Hey Kush, I have been using a AVA LR for an oil furnace, and it works quite well. I just drop
a bb sized ball in and heat until the ceramic absorbs the extract. Learned this trick from
JB3, it rocks......
