The use of PTFE

Does anyhody know if storz and bickel use teflon or not since my last posting i have tried to find out my self but cant find any info ?
I have desided im not interested in any vape that dies use teflon , i have a few solo 1s and a solo 2 and a pax all of which use teflon and the dry herb vap industry is not regulated as of yet .

I will buy a mighty or valcano if i can find out for sure if they dont use teflon .

From my googling i found out that teflon fumes can cause thyriod disfunction and disease just so happens i have thyriod disease that i didnt have untill a years or so after i started vaping . Ofcoarse i have no prof of any conection but... untill the vape industry is fully regulated im not interested in any sketchy teflon unknowns i guess i will stick to my dyna vapes for now . But does anybody knpw weather or not there is any teflon in the mighty ?

The Tera V2 had Teflon that was removed for the V3 as some people were concerned about its use like you, don't know about the Mighty.

I took apart a Crafty and put it back together once. Pristine in there. Its guts looked like they were designed to be seen. It was refreshing! No solder, glues, or silicones, and certainly no teflon.

btw, questioning the safety of a S&B vaporizer is like asking if a Volvo has seat belts. In this industry, they're the leaders. It's what you get when you want something you know has been tested.

Look on page 4 , Rickless_mortys post right above my first post . Dosnt say solo but says above stainless steal oven dish there is a teflon heater ring ? Not sure if all arizer portables have the same heater ring or not ?

Why the need for teflon i dont kjow but seems like a lot of them are using it and i question every thing not just gonna blindly trust any company

You came to a public forum asking questions about an unregulated industry.

I’m familiar with Teflon as a repairman for Minivap.
I caused and discovered the fault in the Teflon in the Tera.
I’ve torn down a Crafty and found no Teflon.
I just tore down an OG Solo and found no Teflon.

As best I can tell, we’ve answered your question about the Mighty, based on the Crafty. A member teardown is about as good as it gets on a public forum.

As for Andrew at Arizer, I need clarification on what he referred to Teflon. It’s possible he’s referring to a newer version, or something I don’t see. But I know what we’re looking for, and I don’t see it.

I didnt come to this forum looking for answers to this question either . I have been here a long time reading and posting for all kinds of reasons . I just so happen to come across this thread and found it alarming .

And were eles are we to find out this sort of info ? This is the best place as far as i can tell because its regular people . People who may also be interested in healthy ingestion of cannabis instead of burning this may also include safest materials possible in our vapes

I caused and discovered the fault in the Teflon in the Tera.

If you still want the shock absorber off-road version, V2 Tera, they are still for sale at Australian Vaporizers, must not degrade in the Southern Hemisphere.
If I recall the stuff only degraded/deformed after multiple back to back hits at 500f in concentrate mode, but it still degraded/deformed.

Admittedly i dont know what im looking at in the teardonwn pics . Is teflon that easy to recognize?
Its a polymer right ? I really dont know much on the subject . but could it not be in or on something and not that easy to tell by just looking ?

In your solo tear down pics is there something there that may be refered to as a heater ring ? If so do you know what the material is ?

And why teflon whats the reason for its use anyway

Interesting that we're talking about PTFE when the cylinder heaters have far more potentially nasty stuff inside. Am I correct to assume the intake air in the video above is at the electronics chamber or is there a fresh air path somewhere that I missed? I also don't consider Li-Ion cells to be particularly safe in air paths. They've been known to burp.

Rock wool?!?! In a vape?!?!! Did I read that correctly? That’s gross. Should have never been used. That screams health issues for me.

I emailed the creator in regards to this, specifically about the GQC.

He very specifically addressed the issues of heat and mechanical stress. I found his answer satisfactory. I don't have any way to verify this info but here you go:

-The air intake is a PTFE tube that connects to the bottom of the heating core. High temp silicone makes the actual connection I believe he implied. It may also be that the whole PTFE tube is encased in silicone.

-the PTFE reaches a maximum of 130 C

-there is no mechanical stress applied to the PTFE tube
