i want that modified handle x2! looks like you got some skills! your stand is pretty much exactly what i was looking for when i asked about stand mods a few pages ago!


ok so for my needs, i would like a triple stand - 1 for the apollo, 2 for the adapt a nail, 3 for the ufo!

i would want the stand to be able to accommodate 18mm-14mm reducers that would be (basically) permanently attached to the atomizers because of the heat. so the stand would need some high temp silicone orange bushings, like the ones that come on the supreme vaporizer to protect the glass from the stand.

they all should drain into the same airtight container (tupperware or wide mouth mason jar) which would have an oilslick pad, or parchment paper for the sublimate to drip onto. this would make it a lot easier to handle once its dripped.

if you make that happen i will buy it!

I think the biggest problem with the adapt-a-bong is the lack of a good, standardized routine, as we discussed earlier. I moved my setup to the other side of the room the other day and it threw the whole routine off for me for no other reason than the cord was plugged in on the opposite side of my setup (the cord's position is important to pay attention to because it swings the Apollo around easily). The inclusion of the metal stand does not fix this. I think it needs to come with a stand that is capable of holding the atomizer and Apollo separately as well as together, and another space to put whatever glass we are using for reclaim. The stand would need to not get hot to the touch and preferably wouldn't make screeching sounds when in use.

It didn't take me long to realize that I needed a setup like Enrico's, so I ghetto'd one out that mimicked his as best I could. But that would not have been necessary with a good stand that can sit next to whatever water pipe I'm using. that and some instructions are probably all this thing needs to get people moving well out of the gate.

I love that shorty tube that just came out, but even that needs one more space to put the Apollo in so you don't have to hold it when not married to the atomizer.

I just got a sub and I now understand what the big deal is. This thing hits soooooo smooth. I don't even need water and I usually love water in all of my pieces, but its just not necessary for these smooth hits. Thanks to kingtut106 for selling this to me. I've used my EQ till now and its always handled hash ok, but the way the hash just hit in my sub is a step above. I also agree with sticks on routine; extremely important. This was really nice to come home to after work. The Sub is awesome. I hope this was appropriate.

I know right man? for the sake of it i put water in my bong, and let it rip. it's been months since i had any water in here. pretty much since the day I got my sub. the resistance hte water gave it brought back old fond memories. and the vapor was tamed in the sense that I could take a much larger hit without busting a lung. but it was much less tasty.

the sub tastes a lot better when not used with water. but it's funny before the sub, I was all about water too! when my evo arrives i'm gonna do some dry its and see how that goes by comparison. in the past i found it a bit dry.

@weedemon you pretty much took the words from my mouth. I love the sub without water but with the water it gives that good ol' bong memories from the past. I was combusting everyday like 5 years ago. Realized how bogus my life was cause the high was a tired feeling and I felt groggy every morning waking up but that was something typically to get used to. Also had throat problems but still combusted during those times and man it doesn't help, it just makes it even more worse. Now I experience the same feeling as back then with my friends from way back and they are different in terms of activity after subbin it. They say they feel more productive and the high is clearer than smoking. I even wish I had this device when going through high school. My teacher will never understand how fast I can study and remember everything before tests arrive.

yea, i pretty much use it only w/ my dry tube, but when my throat needs a rest or i have company it goes in the matrix clear. only piece that fires well due to restriction of the sub.

I'm the opposite! I love water with my sub! I tried no water, but I felt it was pointless when I spent so much cash on all this glass.....I don't feel the water takes much away, it just allows me to take a whole bowl down in one hit. And I feel water gives your lungs some drag so they can take a bigger hit. I feel like the hit is "hollow" without water.

So I have this gooey black hash. its Thick but not liquid (you can roll it in a ball and drop it) but its real sticky. I find if i just drop it on the screen, and vape it, it does not really cook away completely so its not full melt. It works best with some green under it but I want to hit just the hash. should I just turn up the temp? Any ideas would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance and keep on subbin

Edit: Thanks Monsoon for the tip. I actually smooshed it between two screens from my Davinci and threw it in there at 45 watts . So smacked. I am afaid to go as hi as 50 because i don't want to combust. Is that rationale?

weedemon: Very consistent and no particulate. I have my screens set up the same way. Yah I got the mostly because of the oil people talk about it making. I already tried some but there is not much so far. Its fun making it though

Try putting it on an extra screen and turn up the temp. That's how I hit bubblehash in the Sub.

my next question would be how many screen do you have in your sub? I use 2. one ultrafine (tiny holes) at the bottom of my atomizer(I bend it and cup it then push it down into place I stays there till I take it out to clean it. and then, one (a much bigger more coarse screen) that i just lay flat on top of the atomizer it. (this creates a 1 cm or so gap between the 2)

using this method I find the bottom screen clogs very fast. I have to clean it weekly if not even more often. but it's easy. i'll get into that later.

the oil as a result seems very pure to me. I LOVE THIS STUFF! Personally, it's my fave concentrate to consume now. I just dab it on my Ti swing (preferred method for concentrates), or if the sub is on and ready to go i'll put it into the front creator.

I dial the heat up about 5mm on the dial and wait 2 min. then it's blast off in the sub. when doing it with herbs I don't turn the temp up. but after reading others findings, maybe I should be doing so. I'd say 75%+ of the time i'm doing them off my ti swing though.

I prefer water with my ssv and I'm sure I will with the evo, but with the sub I do like it dry these days.

I've never had such smooth dry hits as I can get through that launchtube, and the flavor is incredible that way. I don't like the sub as much dry through a bong, the physics of the launchtube are pretty unique. But I like the sub through water quite a bit, it's so smooth that way I can actually take twice as much in a single hit.
But my material and my tolerance go too quickly that way, so dry it is

great vid of your mods! I LOVE the stand, handle on the atomizer, and all the heat resistant shit put on the tubing. Great job! Those mods ought to make their way into the production model.

I still think that little tube just needs one more place to put the Apollo and it would darn well be all you need!

i totally agree. the sub crew would do well to incorporate your mods @quitestoned!

i also think the sub crew should sell 18-14 glass reducers and push the 14mm atomizer size so they can be used together. unless you buy a launchtube i don't see a need for an 18mm atomizer because its really awkward, frustrating, and somewhat dangerous to use the sub with $$$ WT, especially when the atomizer is stuck! even with the lauchtube, the atomizer seems to be difficult to remove in a lot of enricos vids.

maybe a carb should also be included in the next version of the launctube, so you don't have to remove the atomizer?

The launchtube opening is 14mm so an 18mm atomizer wouldn't work. At least mine is 14mm.

I like the carb idea, perhaps with a removable plug. But the launchtube just underwent redesign so I doubt it will happen anytime soon. It's easy enough to do on our own though.

Unfortunately, i pre-ordered the adapt a bong kit on PV before the sub was even out. Us early adopters didn't have that option.
