Liberty, don't take this the wrong way, but.. Whether or not anyone thought that what you posted was fact, is irrelevant IMO.. That rule is not for no reason.. Why leave things up to Assumption when you can be more clear about it.. Especially when/if you think some one might have an issue w/ it.. It will help you be more clearly understood, the way you fActually mean to be.. I'm assuming that you would like that.
Don't worry, I didn't take it the wrong way. In fact, I believe that I understood your post to be exactly what you intended, to wit: a needless meddling in the already amicably resolved dispute between two other forum members.
And, because I know you're a stickler for rules (i.e., "That rule is not for no reason [sic]"), here's another one that you may have violated (with your pedantic jackassery): Under the heading General Posting Guidelines, "Put some effort into your posting. Before creating a thread or posting a reply, please ask yourself: “Am I making a thread which is either funny, informative, or interesting? Does my reply offer any significant advice or help contribute to the conversation in any fashion? Is it on topic?”. Avoid making a new thread that consists of a link or copy/paste without adding a decent personal summary."
You see, we can all be obnoxious and this thread can go totally off-topic. Your post did not fall within any of the aforementioned acceptable reasons to add a post. It simply restated @
VapeNStone's contention that my post was unclear as to whether it was an opinion or a statement of fact. And, @
VapeNStone and I had already resolved the dispute (@
VapeNStone was gracious enough to explain his point and we amicably agreed to disagree) 20 minutes earlier.
Also, your statement that "That rule is not for no reason [sic]" appears to be a violation of the Rules on two other counts. First, it doesn't specify if that is your opinion or a statement of fact for which you did not provide any proof. Second, it appears to violate the rule under General Posting Guidelines, "[p]roofread your posts for clarity and quality. Semantics, spelling, punctuation and grammar are important when conveying thoughts and information in a text-based medium." Your marginally literate missive had many defects for which the rules clearly require us check.
Or, we could all be gracious toward one another, make good faith attempts to understand the posts of others, and do our best to keep this thread on the topic for which it was created, i.e., the Sub.
mod note: Leave moderating and rules interpretation to moderators. If someone is breaking a rule, do not post, make a report.
