Don Nelson doesn't seem to be missing the grind of the NBA.

The Hall of Fame coach had a great answer Thursday when he was asked how he is spending retirement:

The 78-year-old followed it up by saying he never smoked marijuana during his playing or coaching days, but he is starting to pick it up now.

Nelson, who has 1,335 career wins with the Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors, Dallas Mavericks and New York Knicks, was being honored by the Warriors on Thursday at Oracle Arena along with former players Jason Richardson and Stephen Jackson.

Jackson seemed to really appreciate his coach's candor, which isn't surprising considering the 14-year veteran said last year that he smoked weed during his entire NBA career.

(on edit: ) I just realized I woke up a six-year-old thread. Apologies. Let's let it die again, in peace... )

Aaaand 'Search' is my friend, yet again, as here's the place for my own 'random thought' of today...

So, today, baseball resumed, and my 'new' team (Cubs) had a 1:20pm CT game today. They're hosting the BoSox this weekend.

As it happened, I was going to the grocery at about that time. I wound up bringing earbuds with me so that I could listen while I shopped. As a member in good standing of the geezer club, I can say I don't do that, very often.

Cubs win, 4-1, everybody happy in the Chi.

As it turns out, I find myself this evening, with no better options, watching the replay of the game on TV. The.Very.Same.Game.

Something special is happening this year, guys. The Carmines had a 10-game win streak snapped, and they looked sloppy today, compared to my Cubs. (I know I'm gonna get it from someone in New England... no offense, your team is outperforming this year, as well).

But I'm really starting to think... NL Pennant is coming.
