Yes I have my Splinter Z#1 in walnut running now and the official beta team model in wenge that is on the way. Curious if there is a difference between these models. I do know the wenge will be with the new logo fitting and thick German glass.
I am holding out official comment until I have more time with these but let's just say my Wally Z gets PLENTY of love in my rotation. Given what I have to choose from that aught to be a good indicator for everyone.
@Hackerman the basic difference between the two models is the heater. The original splinter uses the Milaana heater while the Z uses the larger Zion heater. They are both beastly beauties!
@Daweed44 Currently it's still in beta testing. That said it's doubtful at this point unless there is significant demand and Ryan can strike a deal with Vapefiend. I'm pretty sure Ryan is focused on keeping the Z to exotic woods only and manufactured by him personally right here in the US. That of course could change but if it doesn't it will be challenging to get it outside of the US (other than secondhand).

After owning a Zion and a Little Bud for a while I understand 18650 Battery a bit more. I found that one of the "internal" batteries inside my Alien Smok was bad and after replacing it I had the most delightful Splinter session. Hats off to all our inventors, modifiers and craftsmen.

For those that are looking for alternative stems for the new Splinters, Ryan has spent a lot of time on his streams lately making/testing/talking about the new custom stems he’s making himself. They are little mini up to way huge xl8r mouthpieces for the Splinter. He has also been experimenting with fuming Silver into the mouthpieces to create a cool colored effect. I think he mentioned that they would be up for sale soon.

I just got one of those mouthpieces with my new Splinter and they really improve the experience. This is my setup with a ThinkVape Finder 250c :
As long as I turn the mouthpiece a couple of times the last few finishing hits at high temps, I get totally even ABV without need to stir. Really happy with this unit

I noticed some of the splinter have different color inner glass. Is that an option I missed? Are the new german glass a different color? Or where some made with the old colored glass in 19/22?

A lot of the older ones had it, when my pre order # came up I had a choice of two colors.
I asked Ryan on an IG stream if he was still doing colored glass and he said not anymore as of now. It would complicate the sourcing and integrity of the new glass.
But who knows, Ryan probably has some colored glass laying around somewhere he could sneak into his special builds.

The colored glass is China glass. The clear glass can be either China or the new 19/19 non-China glass -- German Schlott(?) glass, I believe.
In a stream last week, Ryan said that the Mis & the Splinter Zs will be 19/22mm & only the Splinters will be 19/19 because of the smaller length. He also said that most of his repairs are for screen damage due to inserting 19/26mm in the Splinter & Mis. The 19/19mm stem allows clearance between the basket screen & the heater screen. As you can see from the basket screen he sells, the rim is unfinished so if the rim of the basket screen makes contact with the heater screen, it can damage the heater screen.
If the screen is not fitting tightly in the stem, you can squeeze it down height-wise which would widen the rim. Likewise, if the screen is too wide, you can narrow it by squeezing the sizes inward.
And he said he's getting some of the 19/19 gongs in from Vapefiend for sale. And he's looking to secure a supplier for 19/19 stems.

No, first just the Splinter. My StemPod arrived at @pxl_jockey and I'm still waiting for the Nomad. I think that's enough for now. Currently there are other vape priorities first (VRod/ @710Coils stuff/ more controllers). And I already have more good stuff than enough - it's just the fucking VAS.

Thanks for keeping us updated. Well that makes me a happier camper. Already decided I am getting the splinterZ finding out it'd 19/22 is just icing on the cake.
So another month till hopefully we see them start landing. Are they all exotic woods on the splinter Z? Guess this be and excuse to buy a new mod too. VAS and MAS made for a expensive summer.

Yes it's a heavy hitter.
In my opinion there is little technique involved. As an example, I just gave it to my father in law yesterday, just told him to push the button and draw slowly. He was able to get nice hits right away. He had no on demand or mod box experience prior.
And I have had a Mighty for years. It comes out only for parties. Splinter gets used daily.
I also have a Tubo which I also like but it doesn't get the love my Splinter does.

Yeah the Z is because it includes the larger Zion heater as where the normal Splinter is made with the smaller Milaana heater. Both are excellent but the Z is really top shelf. I just got a follow up Splinter Z (in wenge) to my original alpha model. I didn't think it would be possible to be better than the alpha buy holy shit this new one is out of control. Talk about huge and tasty rips without any effort! The Splinter Z has it!
