Me too. Trying to just forget about it in the mean time.Zion train seems to be progressing well. Hoping the splinter train will start soon!

I've been using Splinter with the evic mini and the software for the tubo and it kills it. I've landed on 22 - 23 watts and the hits are tasty and strong, and the abv comes out a nice, light tan that I can use for cooking later. Or I could bump it up further if needed.
But what I love about this with the tubo software is I set the cruise mode to 40 seconds. This gives it a nice 5 second preheat, another 5 seconds of priming, and then I settle into my 20 - 30 second draw for a great hit.
I heard @IAmKrazy2 is cranking it way up and huffing on it as well...sweet! That's how I like to use the tubo. With Splinter I cigar pump it like the Zion. Vaping different is fun!
Check the instagram link in my sig for a pic of the Splinter on the mini.

@oddjobold: NO SOUP FOR YOU!!!
The Splinter itself is just a heater. The power and regulation come from the mod box of your choice.Okay guys, pls ignore me if im way off because i am very high, but if i am on the right tracks i want to purchase one
But i just think i figured this product our more, i have no history with a mod box so i didnt know exactly how this would work
I am under the impression the Splinter is a machine using Milaana and Zions heating technoligy, the same that is used when pressing your button to get the amazing taste you do
The mod box is an electronical device that automaticly sets the tempeture to the herb you are vaping???
Does the mod box regulate the temperature that the Splinter uses its heat without going at higher and lower temps without knowing? And if so, does the modbox and the Splinter joined together make a vape that is like a Milaana that has a digital set temp and will vape only at that set temp??
The Splinter itself is just a heater. The power and regulation come from the mod box of your choice.
There are a couple heater designs in the beta stage. Some use the Milaana heater and some use the Zion heater. I am pretty sure the final design will be the Zion.
The mod box regulated the temp so you set it to the wattage of your choice (lower wattage = lower temp. and vice versa) and simply press the button (just like the Mi/Zi). Since it's regulated it will cap the temperature at whatever you set like the Zion as opposed to the Milaana where you need to lay off the button to avoid the temp reaching combustion range.
Your assumptions were right but I wanted to spell it out in a different way. Hope this helps.
Here's a single 18650 unit that can use arctic fox firmware, which is supposed to be the best. Beyond that you may want to use a double 18650 mod instead, if the splinter is indeed using zion's heater. Maybe in the end there will also be a splinter lite with the milaana's heater, for the single battery mods like this.
Eleaf iStick Pico Box Mod 75W
This is true. No go on the Pico based on the battery cap.Think the splinter will be too wide for this. There would be a clash with the battery cap.
Perhaps it would work with a '510 thread heat sink' in between:There would be a clash with the battery cap.
not an expert on these things but I do believe you can stack them and I do believe it would work with a Pico if you used one or two of them.Cant see why u could not use 2 heatsinks.
Testers, any new pics to share? It's been, like, six pages, I could use a new shot w/ a beta Splinter on an EVIC Mini to smooth out the waiting.
Once upon a time I had a dream of owning just one vape. I've managed to get it down to 3: FW4 for max portability, Milaana for heavy hitting, EVIC Mini for concentrates and portable battery charging. Got right on the Splinter (I was 1st to order, even) cause I'm pretty confident it'll give me the portability and easy low temps of the FW4 and the flavor and power of the Milaana, with the battery tracking/charging of the Mini. I'll be set and I can own less stuff (tho I'll need a backup exotic wood Splinter, of course).
There's a bunch of interesting (risky?) exotic wood mechanical mods on ebay, totally unregulated so you gotta have a light touch on the trigger. They come in double and even triple battery versions.
Here's one in african mahogany, it uses twin 20700s
Here's the seller, I guess he turns pens too.
