Yep, 6 different mods, along with a couple of @Alan iHeats. And an imminent @Dan Morrison Nomad. Life is good.I you get 6 Splinters you'll end up with 6 different mods.
Ah, they didn't tell you it comes with a free MAS coupon to complement your VAS?
I've been avoiding these 510 attachments for a variety of reasons, but couldn't help but jump on one with all of the deals that have been available lately. Given that I'm diving in, I've been thinking about them and the way they work as I'm waiting on mine to be delivered.
I'm not sure if this has been covered, but does anyone know if it would be possible to use a Splinter heater in a Milaana? For example, if my Milaana were somehow damaged, is it possible to transplant the heater from the Splinter into it or vice-versa? Does this also apply to the Splinter Z and the Zion? I'm curious to know if they're exactly the same or if there were any modifications made to them as a result of the change. Similarly, can the glass be transplanted as well? I was thinking if I didn't like the Splinter or the Z, it'd at least be worth it to keep them around for spare parts.
On the other hand, if I do end up enjoying them, I can see myself going down a rabbit hole that I probably shouldn't, and can easily see myself ending up with 6-10 of these things if not many more. To that end, has anyone considered making or using a spice-rack to store these attachments?
I think something like this could work as is:
Or something like either of these:
For those with several, what do you do for storage?
I’ve got 6 510 atties and they each have their own dedicated mod. I do switch them on occasion but none of them are sitting unattached. Once you start collecting 510’s, shopping for mods become a secondary reflex.I've been avoiding these 510 attachments for a variety of reasons, but couldn't help but jump on one with all of the deals that have been available lately. I've had great customer service from vgoodiez too though.
yes this is typically how Randy operates when he is discounting a product. I am working through my own exit strategy now.I had a feeling that price was to unload his stock.
Hey, are you satisfied with the combo? I have the same mod and V2. Mind sharing your settings and technique? Also, do you get hotspots?New V2 is humming on the Paranormal. Running cooler than I'm used to in TC but wattage is great. The Paranormal is heavy and chunky to start with so the extra size and overhang of the V2 doesn't bother me.
I'm used to relying on the Herbie profiles so I'd say this V2/Paranormal combo is my least dialed in dnac since I'm just using the Splinter profile. So far it's seemed hot in wattage (with some hot spots, yes) and cool in TC (with no hot spots but setting the temps higher than I typically need to on my other dna mods). I'll let you know if I get something worth sharing.Hey, are you satisfied with the combo? I have the same mod and V2. Mind sharing your settings and technique? Also, do you get hotspots?

Nope. Our support of RBT is just about over. Are you guys not going to stock Splinters any more?
50w max is more than enough for the Splinter!Man I got alot of research to do. I am using my moms vaporesso luxe s and IDK if voltage temp (VT) SS mode is ok? I saw 115W for a second there so I changed back to wattage mode. I also see TCR under VT mode and it seems to lock max wattage at 75W.
Of what little use I got out of VT - SS mode (the one that spiked to 115W), I really enjoyed it.
EDIT: I just found a way to set the watt limit in TCR mode. Dont know if I can go higher so I locked it at 50W max
My V2 on the Paranormal seems pretty happy in TC at .253 to 263ohms (unlocked) at 50W max from 365° to 420°. I do a few five second preheats in wattage at 40W if it's not warmed up.Hey, are you satisfied with the combo? I have the same mod and V2. Mind sharing your settings and technique? Hi people,
Is there anyway to open the splinter V2 up and check the coil?
I keep getting check atomizer messages on my mod every now and again and the splinter unit seems to have a slight rattle inside it. Just wondering if the coil could be touching something it shouldn't.
Thanks.
EDIT - just to add it's in Watt mode @ 35W. Mod is a Wismec rx3 dual. Firmware is surmyevic. Consistently won't work with Wismec firmware or Arctic fox after a couple of seconds of the button press.
As for TC mode... Forget it. Won't work at all.
Until some more knowledgable folks chime in I would suggest cleaning the threads in the mod and on the Splinter with an alcohol wipe. If the connection is the least bit dirty or with oxidation you can have problems.
If this helps, great if not more folks will be seeing your message.
i'm just wondering about this rattle in the splinter unit.
Thanks! Yeah the V2 darkness is more forgiving than my bubinga Z and V1 when it comes to mod matching.@bossman @SquanchKava Those black-on-black-on-black set ups are looking FINE!
