Early on folks had some issues with the glue giving out on hot Splinters. I have heard nothing about it lately and it may have only applied to the OG. There really isn't anything drawing me to use the Splinter over the Z, but if I had them both available I would probably use them both, much like I use several different VapCaps because I have them...

When I am in Mother mode, realism isn't really a requirement for worry.

I think they changed the way the splinters are glued so that they're less likely to come unglued. I still avoid taking my Z of my mod while it's hot though.

It doesn't apply to the OG either. It was just the first batch which were basically betas. IIRC

I have an OG that has the 510 recessed into the wood which were second or third batch. (that I know won't come unglued like people are worried about) Next batch he switched to what's considered the normal OG where the 510 isn't flush with the wood.

Paranormal dna250c for $100 shipped with code 2019. Not a US seller but I went ahead and ordered one.

I'm tempted to order one too, I don't vape nic nor have a splinter but I intend to get one eventually. $100 is a great deal.

How realistic is this worry? I keep reading this, should it not be taken on and off then?

That is a deal breaker for me if true. the mod + unit are two are large to keep in a pocket. If I can break it down into 3 elements: (mod, splinter, glass stem in a jtube) then it can get into pockets.
That means I will be attach/detach the splinter/mod like 2-4 times a day maybe even more

It's no longer an issue, it only affected a certain batch batch or splinters from a few months back, anything new you buy from now on will not have this issue.

I've ended up purchasing the paranormal dna250c for $104 (CAD$144) delivered. I'm in no rush to get but it should be here in two weeks. That would amazing as I'd be ready to purchase the splinter.

@VelocityREST although it does still say in the manual not to remove the Splinter while hot... I agree about pocket ability, but screwing and unscrewing it all the time sounds pretty tedious to me

I agree tbh, but everything comes at a cost. To have these massive hits, it's either the milaana or the splinter imo.

Inside my home I use the enano, outside my home I vape 2-3 times max, at lunch break at work and on my way home. It is much faster than rolling a joint (everything in life is relative )

Totally, in California these oil cartridges really spoil me for super portability anywhere anytime. I did use my Milaana like that a couple years ago, but now it is often too involved. I do want to try bringing my Splinter V2 out with the temp control, but this mod is pretty big and heavy lol Small on a Cuboid Mini though

I often think about oil pens, they can be as small as a credit card or a pen, modular, and can be as good as you want them to be (multiple options for multiple price brackets). I'm not sure how they differ from flower vaping, but I think they are more one dimensional.

Baaically yes more one dimensional, but in a place like this there are so many cartridge brands and so many strains and so many batteries to power them that you really can get variety in effects as well. That being said it definitely is a different experience, and I do still prefer herbs overall. Much easier to do at home, even when I dab at a friends (oil not mobile) it is very nice, but I just like herbs more than concentrate. I like the taste and I like the control, aside from the psychological aspect... Having the variety of concentrates though is fun on occasion however, and the pre-filled cartridges are just too easy honestly.

So yes I would say it is worth it depending what your priorities are. My hands/ arms became injured more recently so that is a factor for me and simplicity out and about. Also getting out of the house quicker and being even more stealth and shareable. I will bring a splinter over to friends though, depending on the people and situations (may bring other herbal vapes and oil pen). Just the other day I brought an herbal vape to use outside a theater before a movie which I haven't done in a good while since oil cartridge pens are so much easier and quicker. But the herbal experience is certainly nicer for me personally...

Maybe one mod for home use and one for on the go would be useful with the Splinter? Similar to having two vapes, but since the Splinter is so versatile you could really get the best of both worlds with it that way. I used to use my first vape, Thermovape T1, out and about just like you could use a Splinter I think, just need to be a bit more mindful and careful with it probably. The real trade off is maybe because of the glass that gives best vapor quality but less portability.

That's a good price for a DNA Color device. I like the VT75D, even with the faux wood sides in weird location.
And I now own a Harbour Freight 6 ton hydraulic A frame press thanks to this place. No press plates yet, but the wheels are at least in motion.

I have a question for fellow Splinter owners.

Last night I was using my splinter on a DNA250C mod and I was using a small bubbler (I highly recommend this item https://www.puffitup.com/Sipper-Bubbler-Mouthpiece-p/qctq.bubb-curvtop.htm) and even though the temp was only 205. C I almost combusted. I took off bubbler a microsecond before a Total cleaning was required.

Does anyone have any ideas on how a 250C with the resistance and temp being "normal" could combust?

I'm stumped.

Any help/ideas welcome.

In my experience, as longer the path of the vape, as easier it'll get to combust

But as I mentioned, I'm using my DNA250C only in watt mode, haven't figured out this whole temperature stuff. But trying out modes in which you could change temperature, I couldn't notice any differences while playing around with the temperature setting.

Got my v1. Have been playing with it. Love it so far. It did have a strong machine oil smell which is still leaving. I have the tubo firmware on my rx200s and been using wattage mode on a aegis. Can’t get the temp control figured out. Always combusting. Read and tried some diff settings but i will study that more. In wattage mode i start at like 28 watts and end up on like 31ish. I love this thing and can’t wait to play more with it. Gonna take it on vacation with me to Cali for 2 weeks so I can really play with it

The important thing to remember is that it's your fault for sharing the deal. Ahem.

And yes, while I've been gushing about the performance on the bronze wismec, it's a chunky three cell mod and I don't need all that for my recreational evening use.

More to the point, my Splinters are the best vapes I've ever used so it's a labor of love to pair them with the best mod deals I can find despite being an admittedly persnickety upgrade.

I'm coming around to the view that wattage is the move with cheaper TC mods. For the best TC performance get a DNA or DNA C mod and use the ecigprofiles from this page:
