The Rules for My Vapes

Thread Purpose: to make it easy for a seeker to identify possible desirable vaporizers by their characteristics. My posting will set an example.

==============================
My Rules:

1. You work for me! I don't work for you. Wanna be difficult? Wanna waste my precious herb? Well if you do, you ain't in my lineup for long.

2. ‎You gotta extract quick! I don't have all day!

3. You gotta hit hard when I need you too

4. Are you made from safe materials?

5. Your temps have got to be adjustable.

6. Changeable: ‎ am I looking for a micro-dose or do I need a mega? Or am I seeking flavorful sipping? You gotta do all the above!

7. You gotta be easy to clean.

8. You gotta be fun!

So what vapes remain in the lineup?

Arizer EQ with mods: meets all my criteria. Most are easily understandable. But how can I say it's quick and ready when I need it to be? Because it doesn't mind being left on for long periods of time. So, in that manner it is preheated a waiting for me. The mod kit pieces bring some of the rest of the characteristics to this vape. Things lik microdosing or quick/powerful extractions.

VapCap: meets criteria above as well. But adjustable temperatures? Yes, depending on where its cap is heated, the click can occur at lower or higher temps. Microdosing to the max! Megadosing, yep, a couple stems and I'd be baked. This is my current go to!

Milaana: oh you beast! Ready for action at a moment's notice. Change up with a mod and you're my microdosing monster. Add a cooling wand and I could put my desktop away and I use you my little powerhouse. Easy to use, clean, carry...

Vapes that didn't stay in rotation:

Palm 2.0: for me, this one missed. Ease of Use, easy to clean, powerful & quick extractions. Adjustable temps, meh... too much work! Didn't like battery life or carrying around unprotected cells. Not like 18650 wrapped batteries... if I recall, these were unwrapped cells. No thanks.

FlashVape: too much work. Chance of combustion high. Tough to carry around.

Herbalizer: this unit makes a nice backup vape, but it doesn't have a place in my regular rotation. Don't know if it's the cleaning, or airy extractions? Anyway, it is a great vape, just not for my routine. Can't put my finger on the exact reason.

MiVape: flimsy, easy to scorch herbs, loses taste quicker than other vapes i've had, buggy software, questionable plastic mouthpiece, not easiest to keep clean.

========================================

So, what are your rules? Which vapes respect those rules and which have been cut from the team?

i had specific things in mind when i chose mine: no electricity, all glass, can see entire vapor path, not too big, not too small, not too expensive and last but not least i wanted it to look like a vape that i would feel good about being if i were reincarnated as a vape. admittedly though the youtube video that introduced me to tripping daisy while someone took hits from a gvg probably had something to do with it, i still hear piranha sometimes when i flick the bic.

I would agree with all of these point except 6, unless you only want to have only that one vape in rotation.
No single vape can exceed all other vaping in everything.
My VapeXhale EVO exceeds all of the vapes in a lot of things, and I wouldn't throw it out of the rotation because it can be used on the go like my AA or a big party like Volcano.
Log vapes can't be beaten if you vape little and also should be in a rotation while violating that 6th point - because you can't take a half gram hit with them.
IMO its better to combine the vapes that are best at different usages rather than finding one that can do best overall. If you can have more than one.

Jsut imagine this: A VapeXhale EVO in a private room, a 24/7 log in a PC room, an Arizer Air (or other high end portable) in a pocket, and a volcano in a living room (or wherever get togethers would be).

@DDave : Rule 8 could be changed to "You gotta be easy, yet fun to both hold and behold, like my fantasy girlfriend."

@Seek makes great points, but in the spirit on the OP, here's my attempt.
(My first and second rules rule out most vapes. Makes it easier for me.)
  1. You must be easy to hold and use near a window or take outside.
  2. No stems, no glass, no water.
  3. Quick and easy to load, unload and clean.
  4. No combustion, no charring, no stirring.
  5. No lung or lip heat discomfort, cool vapor please.
  6. Low draw restriction.
  7. Rapid warmup and rapid intake, no pauses required between draws.
Mighty demanding list, but I'm mighty sure there's a vape for me.

Take the 7 rules above and add a tweaked #8 "You gotta be easy, yet fun to both hold and behold, like my fantasy man."

Now you've just described my Vapcap! Although it only takes 4 or 5 seconds to heat, which provides a few tokes, it does need to be heated between cycles, so there is a pause. But that doesn't bother me a bit, so I give it full marks, perfect score. The Vapcap is the vape for me!:luv::love:

All good points!

Definitely not looking for an All in One vape, as my original post included three vapes in my rotation. Also included those that got benched.

a vape that i would feel good about being if i were reincarnated as a vape.
I've never quite looked at it from this perspective. Now I have to figure out, would being an EQ, Milaana, or VapCap go with my eyes? ;)

"You gotta be easy, yet fun to both hold and behold, like my fantasy girlfriend."
Hmmmm.... If my wife got wind of this, fantasy vaping season would end early this year!!!! :o

Mighty demanding list, but I'm mighty sure there's a vape for me.
Maybe there's a S&B vape somewhere out there that meets your demanding list? Mighty sure of it!

This dude wants to remind of the point of the thread.... :myday:

Lo and Behold! The transformative power of Vapor.
Quick and easy to load, unload and clean.
With parts that are easy sized to work with and self contained. No relying on magnets or small parts for hinges.

Standardized power USB or AC cords, if electrical. No proprietary cords or unreplaceable batteries. Unless it is a single life portable. But even that could change, if I see enough options. Next time I do a round-up. Lot of simpler wooden and glass type vapes with replaceable batterys to look at.

Easy to heat in an outside setting. If getting an off the grid vape, Indestructible. If I plan for a 3 day hike. 2x. Thinking about getting a Vapcap in late April. :D

Is there an ISO standard for any vapes out there?
