The Ripper - Stainless Steel Grinder

From what I can tell the lift grinder is basically an aluminum grinder with stainless steel blades-the body of the grinder is aluminum. The ripper is entirely stainless, no coatings etc.

I haven't had any issues with it gunking up. Its seems to need cleaning a little more frequently than a space case/santa cruz-but I haven't had anything happen like in Bud's pic. Then again Ive only tried to grind dry herb..

As far as the size/capacity goes its about the same size as a medium santa cruz shredder 3 piece-roughly 2 inches. Good size, personally I wouldn't want smaller. I still haven't used the ripper as a 4 piece, so I can't comment on kief etc.

The current iaso grinder looks very cool, but it is def smaller. The larger size they have for preorder is $170.

My Genuine Ripper is ALL Stainless steel, super sharp blades, only take a few twists, Luv, it

Awesome thanks!

Anyone else want I want to talk about their experiences With this cool looking grinder? Thinking about making a purchase

LAWTHEONE,
Coming over from another forum to spread some love for the Herb Ripper. FC has helped me a lot with info on setting up my DNA and I think it only fair to help people out with whatever information I have so here we go.

I have finally had a chance to run a decent amount of flower through this grinder and I LOVE it.
I tried from coarse to fine.
Coarse has little chunks in it, Fine is very even and fine, it is a tad finer than medium but the two are fairly close to my eye.
I did try even flipping the grinder upside down to reprocess a coarse grind and man! This thing can almost make kief looking powder if you grind it a bit.
Never sticky, super easy to turn. I love how easy it is to close the lid on a pile of flower and it just chews into it and gets grinding. I've tried loading it up pretty full and it still om nom noms its way through.

One thing I did end up doing is putting it back in 4 part mode, I had been using it as a 3 part for most of the time and the reason I put it back together is my hands have so much more surface area to grip to grind. Previously I sometimes accidentally unscrewed the bottom in 3 part mode when I ground counter clockwise during my back-and-forth motion.
I don't know if this really is a problem per se but more of a side effect of a 3 part just being that much smaller. The 4 part gives my hand a lot more to grip without touching the knurls on the kief chamber.

What I think I'm going to do is remove the screen and just use the whole thing as a bigger 3 part. It really is more comfortable to grind that way anyway for my big hands and I personally don't desire kief separation.

Overall? Construction quality is top notch. Materials are a tank and it does a great job. Thanks so much for making an awesome grinder that will last a lifetime...maybe more.

They even custom engraved my name on mine for free!
If You want a superb grinder, with no aluminum, or plastic contaminants, put out
a little more for the 'RIPPER', last one You'll ever need to buy!
I think they are making a larger size now, mine is perfect!

Actually, my packages usually get through, but this one they did sting me with sales tax.

Welp the 420 sale is on. 10% off with free personalization and a lighter pick... So the total for the 2.5" SS would be 135$US... I'll pass right now as I have many grinders one being BCG incoming and my SS the grinder from United Machining but if this goes on sale in the future with a fine grind plate I'll look at it then.

Woohoo! Just received tracking for my 3 piece engraved XL HerbRipper. It was this or the BCG so I chose both ha ha. Econman over at Vapelife (and here?) loves his (he has both). There isn't a lot info, reviews, or even pictures for that matter (at least the angles I'm looking for), and I plan to rectify that.

@westchop
After Bud received his I believe Kevin (Herb Ripper) modified the plates to reduce and nearly eliminate the gunking.

@LAWTHEONE
"EconMan" at Vapelife (and possibly here at FC? @EconMan ) loves both of his. I haven't seen him mention anything of the sorts.

Update

I have had the regular Ripper since May. When the XL came out I bought it that day.
Quality quality quality is the catch phrase for these beauties. They grind wonderfully.
I loved the product so much I bought 2 XL's to give as gifts.
If you can afford them, buy.

I've been trigger shy for months. I'm finally ready to pull the trigger on an XL matte 3-piece. I'm very excited! Do you specify the plate (fine is what I want) at checkout? It's unclear which it comes with or if there's a choice. Thanks in advance!

When I got my first XL the medium plate was the only one. I did not realize it was a medium at the time. It is perfect for the Volcano as far as I am concerned. When I bought the 2 XL's for gifting, Kevin had the new fine plate ready. After discussion with him I came away convinced that I did not need the fine plate. But my V.A.S. will probably overcome good sense and I will order it eventually.

Good Intel. Thank you. I'm gonna send Kevin a message just to be sure I get the right one.

It looks like the matte version of the XL is not in stock.
Do they ship to the EU now?

I reached out via the online form asking about the restock date on the matte XLs. Kevin replied right away saying that he had one in stock just not listed. I went ahead and placed the order per his instructions.

When I was in Checkout, the only shipping locations were states in the U.S. No other options were given. Seeing how cool Kevin is, I am sure he can work with you if you reach out to him.

@Silat
If you want a nice fine, fluffy grind it's a great plate.

Do you mean the new fine plate is great? And do you have both plates? If so is there a great difference between the two? I must admit I thought the medium plate was a fine plate until I was told otherwise.
