The Right Portable For Me

So I have finally decided, with the persuasion of my girlfriend to switch over from combustion to the vapornation. I have decided on a portable since I commute to school and currently still live with my parents. I have narrowed it down to 4 capes:

1) Arizer Solo
2) Pax by Ploom
3) VaporBlunt 2.0
4) Inhalater XP

I don't really have a budget. I don't mess with loose batteries, the only extra pieces i would like to be carrying around would be extra duff for more bowls.

My main deal breakers are: Odor, Ability to conserve material, and Durability.

The Odor is not too much of an issue because I can always go outside to use the vape, but then stealth would become an issue, so I guess those factors mirror eachother.

Hopefully someone who owns a few of these or even just one could give me some insight on which would be best for the situation I'm in. I'd like the one that gives the least odor as well as the most bang per gram. I also don't mind any of the designs except the glass stem of the arizer solo, but if it is the best I can deal.

This is a tough one, you have some good options....my suggestion would be in this order:

Solo
Inhalater
Pax
VB2

Actually, even though i'm a bigger fan of the Solo, the Inhalater might be more suitable for you due to being out and about, stealthness, etc.

Get the Inhalater. Then you also don't have to worry about breaking glass, and can have preloaded capsules.

Solo, in my personal opinion it is currently the best portable on the market (the minivap is quite appealing but the price point is quite steep). I say this because, it delivers good quality vapor, is "efficient" both in terms of herb use and extraction, good battery life, and at 160$ an outright steal.

INH if stealth and size is above taste. If not, and you don't mind having a glass stem to be careful of, then Solo.

I was under the impression that the INH taste was supposed to be excellent, like the Solo?

Solo really is a great deal, but if you want to be able to walk around campus or your neighbourhood while puffing away, it is going to get tiring after awhile. The glass stems are fragile and get hot, and the unit is about the size of a can of red bull, so you can't just tuck into the pocket of your jeans. You can buy a stealth adapter so that the solo can be used in a soda cup if that appeals to you, but I can imagine that would get old fast.

PAX is the stealthiest of the batch. It looks like an MP3 player. But the higher you push the temp, the smellier it gets...and the taste :puke: It is also a real hog when it comes to herb...being a conduction unit, you should be prepared to go through much more than a unit like the Solo. It is also pretty finicky when it comes to being kept clean. So if you are lazy like me, it might be a bit high maintenance for you.

I have not used the other two, but after the PAX, they are the most "pocketable" of the bunch. INH has been around longer than the VB 2.0 if that is important to you. From what I have read, it also seems the VB 2.0 needs a bit more work when it comes to bigger clouds, if getting fat rips is of importance.

VB2.0 isn't close to being pants pocketable by any means it's actually larger than the solo.

I bought a solo recently after briefly having a No2 and I am very happy. I was on the fence between Pax and Solo at first before being turned on to the INH XP. The XP seems awesome and I think it is your best bet if stealth and size are of importance. FYI, it won't ship until next week at earliest and it is about a $100 more than the Solo.

Considering those last two statements, the solo is the winner. I don't like dealing with the glass stems even though they provide superior taste so an Ed's wood stem is in my future for use with my SOLO. Adding that to my price, I'm still good at $185, compared to $250. Keep in mind, it is always better to be a bit patient to save for what you really want...rather than jump the gun and be unhappy.

^^Crap, very true...forgot about that. With 15% off its like $212.50---$225 with 10% off

So there you go...not so much of a price difference. More about what two features are highest on you list, imo

Price isn't an issue at all. I have crossed the pax and vb the off. And it is between the solo and inh. If the inh matches the solo in durability and hit size I'd rather it for stealth. But if the solo is more durable and has less of a chance of defects or bigger hits ill go with it. Also how do these differ in odor during use and when not being used? Thanks for your insight everyone.

Some people have reported battery problems with some solo models, so if you go in the solo direction the m107 model seems to be the most reliable.

I don't own the INH, just the Solo but the general impression i got was that the Solo had the edge on taste, although not by much.

I think it will be close, in both durability and hit size although if you consider the same amount of herb in each unit, the INH will lose bit a slight margin again, but if you consider the total size of the bowl of each vaporizer the INH has about double the amount if i'm not mistaken.

I must say that in durability in think that the Solo will outlast the INH eventually. In terms of odor, since the Solo only has a stem to clean, i would say it would be less smelly in the long run as well.

The INH has the edge in size and portability, ability to charge anywhere where there is USB ports. No glass, good because glass breaks and gets hot.

I mean reading some pax stories have scared me and I don't want to be sending my unit out. Are there a lot of stories of the inh being defective? Also how do each perform in groups of people. Like 2-4

I disagree. The newest serial numbers are just as reliable. The firmware has been tweaked and the battery indicator has changed a little. Don't fear the serial.

I think both will work okay but most desktop vaporizers are more inclined to do this than portables.

They are both easy to master technique, pass around, load and with set temp. The biggest problem i see, is you having to use several stems and it only last two hours aprox. A desktop can be on all night long.

The thing I'm liking about the solo is the fact that for 250 I can get the pvhe shorty turbo and wood stem and the car charger and stuff. Anyway how are the cartridges for the inh? Are they decently durable? Keep in mind if be probably ordering the inh004 and not the xp. I just can't wait any longer to vape.

Well, i hear there were some problems with a new capsule design getting stuck sometimes but i don't think that it would really become a problem. The INH depends on those capsules working, to work properly, so it will eventually be a non-issue IMO.

Hey dude, if you've narrowed it down to the Solo and Inhalater maybe go to those threads and start read from the end backwards, you'll get a better feel for what's up.

I just can't really use the desktop because of my parents. If it smelled I would have no choice but to use it inside. At least with the portable I can go outside if I need to you know?

Yeah I'll just research a lot and make my decision.

Thanks for the help everyone :) If anyone has information that hasn't been stated about the Arizer Solo or the INH004 just let me know.

Of course, that makes total sense. The Inhalater remains the easier to carry and stash so it might really be your best bet. If there is some more wiggle room for the bulkier Solo, in terms of experience it is problably superior IMO. For friends the INH would be better as well due to the bigger bowl and no glass stem to break accidentaly.

Inhalater supposely has a smell after awhile, this is coming from someone who owns the Inhalater and the Solo (Dreamerr). I don't know her opinion on the Solo smell though, but she prefers the Inhalater overall. However, I think if you clean it once in awhile it shouldn't be much of a concern. Also, the Inhalater can hold more, and there are plenty of options to carry around a prefilled capsule so you just have to switch them out.

It does seem to be a consensus that you can extract the most with the Inhalater, a few people use their Solo first, and then use the ABV weed in the INH after to extract the rest.

Just a heads up, you can order the INH XP directly from Pharmacor by emailing, a few people have got the XP that way instead of waiting for it to arrive at retailers like PV.

Pax is a nightmare SOMETIMES bro.. My girlfriend even notices that I spend toooo much time maintaining my Pax. Just to keep it working right you have to clean it and use messy lube and crap like that..

IMO thats just doing toooo much just to vape some weed.. And at times when you stir the oven weed can flick out of the oven easily, happens to me most the time.

I honestly don't like using my Pax if there are more than 2-3 people, just think its better to use with yourself and someone else.

I am ordering an XP right now, I can give you a better review once I get it. But some pros so far without having it
- i can charge with a usb cable in my car, so it wont end up dying [which has happened with my pax many times while i was out and about]
- i can have a bunch of loaded capsules to switch in and out
- probably wont have to keep up with it AS much as the Pax [that means no stuck temp light, no stuck temp button, no stuck mouth piece and HOPEFULLY less ISO usage.]

I really just can't wait anymore :|. I have been saving for a good month now.

I will be ordering the vape to my gf's house next friday. Would the XP be available by then? I also am still torn between the solo and INH. Such a hard choice, I feel like the solo just has been out for so long i am more sure it will do me well. The INH has far less videos, reviews, etc and i feel it to be a lot more sketchy. If i was sure it would work for a long time, and hit as well as the solo, I would get it just because of the portability. I love how the solo is considered half-home and half-portable. Also I know the capsules wear down and I am fine with that as I wouldn't have to worry about ordering new ones.
