Laser engraved by a local wood working shop. Gave them the images I wanted, and Ta-da.

Pretty sure it was me, I just reached out to see if there’s anything I can do to ease concern & offered a refund if unhappy.

As far as I know every stem from RBT has a removable screen.
On unit being new how does the screen look inside the milaana? Does it show discolor signs of use? Also a picture might help since been some style changes that help date it.
My resent repair the screen inside looks different than my older model. More a criss cross design. Can you post pic of your inner screen?
Also check where battery goes in. A used one will show some wear from installing and remove the battery.
If worried your friend really should have supplied a recite showing he bought it. It at least show you he bought new a one. I would ask him to email you a copy of it. Still he could have bought a new one and sent you his used unit.
Unless units has really been used a lot, and that would show. I wouldn't let bother you too much.
These unit are built well and not much goes wrong other than user error in breaking inner glass.
Maybe your friend just forgot to ship you the screens? Did he include the hemp bag and wood poker? I think the new ones still include these items

To me that looks new, I focus on the screen and not the wood. I have a one month old splinter and a new unused splinter, the one month old's screen has some staining and little bits of debris that will never be fully pristine. The new splinter has a screen that's silver and sparkling like your's. Sometimes the wood bodies can get marked up in the manufacturing process, just go to the earlier posts in the Mi thread and you'll see what I'm talking about. Not to say I can't be wrong but that's my impression from the photos.

Also the scratches in the glass joint can easily happen while inserting/removeing the mouthpiece- especially with the top-hat screens. If the screen is not seated in the mp a little bit of wire can "hang" over the edge and scratch the joint. Doesn't hurt it though. Looks pretty new to me too. Also the marks on the bottom may be wax build up. Try to heat it with a hair dryer and see what happens. They may smooth out.

Looks like screens are in one or both of those little plastic bags next to the poker. Correct?
The proper stem size your after is 19/ 22. 19 being the diameter and 22 the depth it inserts. The Splinter switched to 19/20.
I think I saw that @Elenafair is working for RBT, so safe bet it was a new one The blems may have be worth an extra stem or two, if you hadn't doubted her out loud.

How much did you pay? It does seem to have some cosmetic imperfections so you probably deserved to receive some sort of a pricing break.
The screens appear to be the correct screens. The stem is clear but that’s standard. I don’t recall colored stems being a free upgrade and all rimmed baskets I’ve gotten elsewhere. You might want to shoot DDave a message. Don’t think he covers Mi stuff any more but he might have something lying around.
My maple (1.5) has never been much to look at but I’m about performance and not so much appearance. And my not so pretty maple sure has performed.

Do i just stick the rimmed baskets into the stem en go with it? or is a screen in the stem necessary?

Once i have had time to straighten the wood I come here with some vape porn. I took some photos of my tragedy for your eyes to see. Now the bottom part is bigger than previously and does not fit perfectly. Also I made a quick fix with duct tape while I consider a definitive solution. The good news is that I can testify that the Milaana has 100% Isolated airpath so I can use it without fears but there is a little lack of effort from the manufacturer in these hidden spots. I would send it for repairs but I live in Spain and shipping, customs and repair can cost as much as a new one.
