A once-homeless dog in Brazil makes a long journey each night to feed her furry companions.
Lilica lives in a junkyard with other animals including cats, chickens and mules. She has spent each night for the last few years traveling eight miles to the home of an animal lover named Lucia who awaits her arrival with a bag of food.

Thanks Mom, just to be clear, Rescuzilla is not a shelter. We are a registered rescue group and a 501c3 registered charity-so all donations are TAX DEDUCTIBLE lol. We are registered with the NYC Mayor's alliance http://www.animalalliancenyc.org/about/index.htm and we're a New Hope partner for the City's shelter system http://www.nycacc.org/NewHope.htmI hope you all have had a chance to check out @VaporsVaporizer 's thread "Help Me Save Some Lives". We don't have a facility to house these animals, they are all placed in foster homes until we can find a forever home for them. That's a good thing because we get to know these animals, who's good with kids, who needs a quiet place etc.
We pay for all their care until they find new homes. Sometimes we can find homes quickly when we do adoption events, sometimes it takes months or years.
It's easy to find homes for cute kittens and puppies, it's harder with the older animals and 90% of the animals we spring are older, but we always do find them homes.
These animals are at the shelter through no fault of their own, there are so many reasons why an animal gets dropped off, but it's always devastating for them and without the many many rescue groups in NYC , they would all be euthanized.
If anyone who's reading this in in the NYC area and needs help or know's someone who needs help getting their pet neutered or vaccinated or needs food, we have connections and can help you get that done.
The goal is to try and stop pet overpopulation...

I just hope that either the one wearing the blue sneaker or the one taking the picture placed the wayward fish back in the water so it could survive!
